Control device and control method

Abstract

The present invention controls the behavior of a saddled vehicle in accordance with a rider's intent. In a control mode in which a speed adjustment operation for adjusting the speed of a saddled vehicle to a target speed is executed, an execution unit of a control device according to the present invention: executes an override operation for controlling the speed of the saddled vehicle on the basis of an acceleration operation, when an acceleration operation is performed; executes a first target speed adjustment operation for decreasing or increasing the target speed from the current value, when a switching operation that uses a switch has been performed in a state in which the override operation is not being executed; and executes a second target speed adjustment operation for setting the target speed to the speed at the time at which the switching operation was performed, when the switching operation has been executed in a state in which the override operation is being executed. Furthermore, in the control mode, the execution unit executes a maintenance operation for maintaining a state in which the second target speed adjustment operation is executed, when the switching operation has been performed in a state in which the override operation has been canceled.
