Abstract

The present invention is a control device (5) for a vehicle comprising a battery (6), a path leading from a motor (3) to an output shaft (12), a path that is separate from the aforementioned path and leads from an engine (2) to the output shaft (12), a path leading from the engine (2) to a generator (4), a path leading from the generator (4) to the output shaft (12), and a motor clutch (20). The vehicle is configured to be capable of executing a power-running motor assist and a power-running generator assist in a first state in which power can be transmitted between the engine (2) and the output shaft (12). The control device (5) comprises a calculation unit (5A) for calculating the required torque of the vehicle and a control unit (5B) that executes the power-running generator assist regardless of whether the power-running motor assist is executed when a first required torque which is the required torque calculated when in a state in which the motor clutch (20) is released while in the first state exceeds a predetermined reference torque.
