Abstract

The invention relates to a process for manufacturing glass panes curved in a longitudinal and transport direction (L) and in a transverse direction (Q) orthogonal thereto. The glass panes, after leaving a furnace in the planar state, during the cooling process are transported on the rollers (1) of a transport apparatus which has a plurality of height-adjustable supports (2) arranged in the longitudinal direction (L) and transverse direction (Q). The disadvantage of known processes is that it is not possible to produce bidirectionally curved glass sheets. The object of establishing a process for manufacturing bidirectionally curved glass panes which makes it possible to easily obtain virtually any desired curvatures is achieved in that each individual support (2) has a push rod (3) which is height-adjustable independently of all the other supports (2), and the heights of all the push rods (3) are adjusted in real time, while the glass panes are being transported via the supports (2), in accordance with the desired curvatures in the longitudinal direction (L) and transverse direction (Q).
