Abstract

The present invention improves the suction performance of a centrifugal pump by reducing the flow rate of a leakage flow in the centrifugal pump.　A centrifugal pump (1) according to the present invention comprises a housing (2), a motor (3), a rotating shaft (4), an impeller (5), a pump chamber (21), and a suction pipe (24). The impeller comprises a front shroud 52 oriented in a first direction. The front shroud comprises a first surface 521 and a protrusion 5A protruding from the first surface in a second direction. The housing comprises a first partition wall part 22 disposed facing the front shroud. The first partition wall part comprises: a first facing surface 221 facing the first surface; and a recess 2A recessed from the facing surface in the second direction. A first space S1 is formed between the front shroud and the first partition wall part. Part of the protrusion is disposed inside the recess. A gap T is formed between the protrusion and the recess in the radial direction of the rotating shaft.
