AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Conventional electric vehicle chargers expose workers to electric shock due to the high-voltage system being accessible during maintenance, and have complex assembly and cumbersome wiring processes.

Method used

A detachable subassembly connected to the main body case with components on a DIN rail, a protective cover to shield high-voltage sections, and a structured wiring passage to simplify assembly and maintenance, along with a heat dissipation system to manage heat generation.

Benefits of technology

Prevents electric shock accidents and simplifies assembly and maintenance by using a detachable subassembly and protective cover, while efficiently dissipating heat through a heat dissipation path.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a charger for an electric vehicle. The charger for an electric vehicle comprises: a driving unit installed in a body case and forming a high voltage system area including an inductor installation unit and a main board installation unit; a connection unit installed in the body case and connecting the driving unit and an external input power source; and a main cover coupled to the body case to cover the driving unit and the connection unit, wherein: the connection unit comprises multiple connection components that include a vacuum circuit breaker, an AC input terminal, a surge protector, a fuse, and a DC output terminal and are sequentially arranged on a DIN rail of an installation bracket; and a subassembly, in which the connection components and cables are wired using a wiring passage provided around the DIN rail and a space provided at the bottom side of the installation bracket, is detachably coupled to the bottom of the body case.
