Abstract

A method of coupling energy between a segmented antenna element and a plurality of RF circuits of a UE includes: coupling, during at least a first mode, first energy between a first position along a length of a first electrical conductor of the segmented antenna element and a first RF circuit of the plurality of RF circuits; and coupling, during at least a second mode, second energy between a second position along the length of a second electrical conductor of the segmented antenna element and a second RF circuit of the plurality of RF circuits, the first position being disposed proximate to a first end of the first electrical conductor, the second position being disposed proximate to a second end of the second electrical conductor, and the first end of the first electrical conductor disposed proximate to, but separate from, the second end of the second electrical conductor.
