Abstract

[Problem] To automatically switch from manual steering to any of a plurality of types of automatic navigation. [Solution] A ship control device 10 comprises an acquisition unit 31, a mode selection unit 21, a navigation control unit 22, and a notification unit 33. The acquisition unit 31 acquires navigation situation data including detection results of other ships around a host ship and information on whether a scheduled route based on a target position exists. On the basis of the navigation situation data, the mode selection unit 21 selects any of a plurality of types of automatic navigation modes to which the navigation mode is to be switched from a manual steering mode. The navigation control unit 22 controls a navigation device 70 through the selected automatic navigation mode. The notification unit 33 provides notification of the type of the selected automatic navigation mode.
