An operation method of a head-mounted display apparatus according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may comprise the steps of: obtaining at least one image of the real world captured by an external camera; obtaining three-dimensional position information of the external camera with respect to the head-mounted display apparatus and orientation information of the external camera by using the obtained at least one image and an image captured by a camera of the head-mounted display apparatus; projecting information on a capturing region captured by the field of view (FOV) of the external camera onto a three-dimensional space of the real world captured by the camera; and displaying a viewfinder image including the three-dimensional space of the real world and the projected information on the capturing region.
