Abstract
The invention relates to an air filter (44) having a filter element (10) in a receiving space (46) which is provided by a housing (16) of the air filter (44), wherein: the filter element (10) has a frame part (12) which surrounds a filter material (14) of the filter element (10); the filter element (10) has at least one fastening element which can be coupled to a fastening element on the housing in order to fasten the filter element (10) to the housing (16); an expansion element (20) received in a receptacle (42) can be brought into a fixing position by an expansion means (28). By coupling the fastening element of the filter element (10) to the fastening element on the housing, a fastening arrangement is formed which comprises an expansion element (20) and a receptacle (42). The expansion element (20) can be brought, by an expansion means (28), into a fixing position in which the expansion element is held in the receptacle (42). By inserting the expansion means (28) into the expansion element (20), a cover element (62) can be fastened to the housing (16).
