Abstract
An example engineered hormone receptor includes a ligand binding domain (LBD) that specifically binds a hormone and a tag inserted between a first segment of the LBD and a second segment of the LBD. The first segment includes a 1st to 11th alpha helix of the LBD and the second segment includes a 12th alpha helix of the LBD. A first linker is inserted between the tag and the 11th alpha helix in the first segment of the LBD. A second linker is inserted between the tag and the 12th alpha helix in the second segment of the LBD.
