Chromatography system with switching valve

Abstract

A chromatography system comprising a primary tubing and a switching valve including a plurality of ports: a sample port, a solvent port, a column port, a discharge port, a first primary tubing port, and a second primary tubing port. The primary tubing connects the first primary tubing port and a second primary tubing port. When the switching valve is in a first position, a sample received by the sample port flows into the primary tubing from the first primary tubing port to the second primary tubing port. When the switching valve is in a second position, pressurised solvent received by the solvent port flows into the primary tubing from the second primary tubing port to the first primary tubing port and then towards the column port. When the switching valve is in a third position, pressurised solvent received by the solvent port flows into the primary tubing from the first primary tubing port to the second primary tubing port and then towards the column port.
