Abstract

The present invention provides a process for purifying one or more human milk oligosaccharides by bringing a fermentation broth into contact with microbial cells expressing a β-galactosidase that has hydrolytic activity towards lactobionic acid and / or by adding a β-galactosidase that has hydrolytic activity towards lactobionic acid to the fermentation broth.
