Die-cut system and method

Abstract

The invention relates to an automatic die-cut machine for creating a final die-cut item, comprising : (a) mechanism configured to position a section of a continuous strip or a flat board to be processed within an operational area of the die-cut machine; and within the operational area : (b) a replaceable item-specific top template comprising cutting blades and crease blades facing down; (c) mechanism configured to move the top template up and down in beats, thereby impacting in each beat a top surface of said continuous strip or flat board; and (d) a horizontally displaceable bottom, polymer-made layer having a hardness shore value of A60 to A100 in the A scale or up to D20 in the D scale, configured to operate without crease elements, said layer is positioned above a bottom rigid support and below a bottom surface of the continuous flat strip or flat board; and (e) first displacing mechanism configured to displace, within the operational area, the polymer-made layer horizontally during a period between any two consecutive impacts while maintaining the layer stationary during the impact.
