Balloon catheter

Abstract

A balloon catheter according to the present invention includes a balloon 13 that has a distal leg part 13e that includes outside protrusions 33. An inside tube 16 has a triangular tube part 41 that is inserted into the distal leg part 13e and has an outer peripheral surface 43 that is substantially triangular as seen in cross-section. The locations on the outer peripheral surface 43 of the triangular tube part 41 that are closest to a center axis as seen in cross-section are closest parts 43a. The distal leg part 13e has a first portion 51 that, when the balloon 13 is contracted, has a non-circular cross-sectional shape that encloses the triangular tube part 41. The outside protrusions 33 are provided to the first portion 51 at the same positions as the closest parts 43a in the circumferential direction of the first portion 51.
