Abstract

A display device according to the present invention comprises: a display for displaying a screen; a processor for providing screen-related customized audio description information; and an audio output unit for outputting the customized audio description information as speech information. In addition, the processor activates a function for providing customized audio description information, recognizes at least one selection area on the screen of the display, detects that an object is displayed in the recognized selection area, and generates customized audio description information by associating the detected object with the position of the matched selection area. Therefore, a viewer can recognize position information of the object on the screen through the audio description alone and, in particular, the visually impaired is assisted in more easily understanding video content.
