Abstract
Description
[0001] A device for filling the windshield and headlight washer reservoir of a vehicle with water
[0002] The field of technology to which the invention relates.
[0003] The invention relates to devices for filling a vehicle windshield and headlight washer reservoir with water, including a hose with a filter and can be used to improve vehicles, especially trucks.
[0004] State of the art.
[0005] All vehicles are currently equipped with a water reservoir used to clean the windshield. A built-in pump delivers pressurized water to nozzles, which spray it onto the windshield while simultaneously activating the windshield wipers. The driver or vehicle operator takes steps to ensure the washer fluid level is maintained, as required by law.
[0006] A device for filling a vehicle's windshield and headlight washer reservoir with water is known from the prior art. The device includes a hose with a filter, which is disclosed in patent for utility model No. 129061, published in 2013.
[0007] This device is the closest in its technical essence and achievable technical result and was chosen as the prototype for the proposed invention as a system. A drawback of this prototype is that the collected liquid is not pure and requires high-quality purification.
[0008] Disclosure of invention.
[0009] The present invention is primarily aimed at providing a device for filling a vehicle's windshield and headlight washer reservoir with water, which allows at least one of the above-mentioned disadvantages to be mitigated, namely, to provide the ability to fill the windshield and headlight washer reservoir with clean water, by using condensate from the air conditioner, which is the problem being solved.
[0010] To achieve this goal, the hose is connected on one side to the lid of the windshield and headlight washer reservoir through a rotary fitting, and on the other side has a means of connecting to the drain point of the condensate of the vehicle's air conditioner evaporator, while the hose in its middle part includes a three-way valve.
[0011] These advantageous characteristics make it possible to use air conditioner condensate to fill the vehicle's windshield and headlight washer reservoir. Indeed, the distilled water supplied from the vehicle's air conditioner evaporator to the windshield and headlight washer reservoir is free of salts and minerals, preventing the formation of salt deposits on the glass and significantly extending the life of the glass. Distilled water also effectively removes greasy stains from insects that have crashed onto the glass. The device is primarily designed for operation at above-zero ambient temperatures. A swivel fitting allows for installation on the vehicle's windshield and headlight washer reservoir. A three-way valve is used to switch between winter and summer operating modes.
[0012] There is a variant of the invention in which the windshield washer reservoir cap has a drainage hole for draining excess water.
[0013] Thanks to these advantageous characteristics, it becomes possible to discharge excess water from the tank.
[0014] There is a variant of the invention in which the rotary fitting includes a filter.
[0015] These beneficial features provide an additional opportunity to prevent contaminants from entering the washer system.
[0016] Another possible embodiment of the invention involves a filter comprising an outer mesh and an inner screen, with the inner mesh having finer meshes than the outer mesh. These advantageous characteristics provide the additional capability of two-stage purification of the feed liquid, first removing large impurities and then removing small ones.
[0017] Finally, there is another possible embodiment of the invention, in which the lid of the windshield and headlight washer reservoir has an opening for a pipe for supplying washing liquid concentrate from a container for washing liquid concentrate, wherein said pipe includes a valve.
[0018] These advantageous features provide the additional option of adding washing fluid to the windshield and headlight washer reservoir.
[0019] Brief description of the drawings.
[0020] Other distinctive features and advantages of the invention are clearly evident from the description given below for illustration and not as limiting, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
[0021] - Figure 1 depicts a device for filling the windshield and headlight washer reservoir of a vehicle with water, according to the invention,
[0022] - Figure 2 depicts a device for filling a vehicle's windshield and headlight washer reservoir with water, according to the invention, a variant with a container for a washing liquid concentrate and a double filter.
[0023] Figures 1-2 indicate:
[0024] 1 - windshield and headlight washer reservoir,
[0025] 2 - hose,
[0026] 3 - glass and headlight washer reservoir cap,
[0027] 4 - rotary nipple,
[0028] 5 - means of connection to the condensate drain point,
[0029] 6 - three-way valve,
[0030] 7 - hole for draining excess water,
[0031] 8 - filter,
[0032] 81 - external mesh with small cells,
[0033] 82 - internal mesh with large cells,
[0034] 9 - air conditioner evaporator,
[0035] 10 - pipe for supplying washing liquid concentrate,
[0036] 11 - container for washing liquid concentrate, 12 - valve for supplying washing liquid concentrate.
[0037] According to Figure 1, a device for filling a vehicle's windshield and headlight washer reservoir 1 with water includes a hose 2 with a filter 8. Hose 2 is connected on one end to cap 3 of the windshield and headlight washer reservoir via a rotary nipple 4, and on the other end has a means 5 for connecting to the vehicle's air conditioner evaporator condensate drain, primarily a nipple for connecting to the condensate drain. Hose 2 includes a three-way valve 6 in its central section.
[0038] Optionally, the cover 3 of the windshield washer reservoir has a drainage hole 7 for draining excess water. Optionally, it is the rotary nipple 4 that includes a filter 8.
[0039] Optionally, the filter includes an outer mesh 81 and an inner mesh 82, wherein the cells of the inner mesh are larger than the cells of the outer mesh.
[0040] Optionally, the cover of the windshield and headlight washer reservoir has an opening for a pipe 10 for supplying washing liquid concentrate from a container 11 for washing liquid concentrate, wherein said pipe includes a valve 12 for supplying washing liquid concentrate.
[0041] Implementation of the invention.
[0042] The device for filling the vehicle's windshield and headlight washer reservoir with water operates as follows.
[0043] When three-way valve 6 is opened, condensate from the air conditioner flows into windshield and headlight washer reservoir 1, helping maintain the fluid level there. When antifreeze is needed, three-way valve 6 closes, and condensate stops rising into the reservoir and flows out.
[0044] In practice, the connection points of hose 2 are higher than three-way valve 6, which is located in the middle of hose 2 and sags under its own weight. Therefore, when three-way valve 6 is switched, the condensate supply to windshield and headlight washer reservoir 1 is closed, and the condensate outlet from three-way valve 6 opens, where it simply drains. When three-way valve 6 is switched to the operating position, the drain hole closes, and condensate, under the pressure of the air conditioner evaporator, rushes into windshield and headlight washer reservoir 1.
[0045] Optionally, concentrated washing liquid can be added to the windshield and headlight washer reservoir 1 by moving valve 12 to the open position.
[0046] Industrial applicability.
[0047] The proposed device for filling the windshield and headlight washer reservoir of a vehicle with water can be implemented by a specialist in practice and, when implemented, ensures the implementation of the stated purpose, which allows us to conclude that the invention meets the "industrial applicability" criterion.
[0048] In addition to the fact that, thanks to new significant features, it becomes possible to use condensate from the air conditioner to fill the windshield and headlight washer reservoir with water, the device also has additional advantages:
[0049] 1. Saving water.
[0050] Using condensate from a car's air conditioner can significantly reduce the need for regular water for the windshield and headlight washer reservoir, which is especially important in regions with water shortages.
[0051] 2. Using distilled water.
[0052] The condensate coming from the air conditioner is clean by nature and can be used as a fluid for the windshield and headlight washer reservoir of a vehicle without requiring any additional treatment.
[0053] 3. Working with the environment.
[0054] The device reduces water use and helps to reduce emissions and negative impacts on the environment.
[0055] 4. Constantly filled tank.
[0056] The device ensures that the vehicle's windshield and headlight washer reservoir is always full, allowing the driver to wash the windshield as needed without having to regularly check the fluid level. 5. Easy installation and removal.
[0057] The simple design of the device allows you to quickly install or remove the cover without special tools.
[0058] 6. Durability and high efficiency:
[0059] The device is designed for an unlimited service life. The use of a coarse filter and other materials ensures a long service life.
[0060] In hot weather, with the air conditioner on, the device's efficiency is 100%, effectively refilling the vehicle's windshield and headlight washer reservoir.
