Description

[0001] DEVICE FOR MARKING OF THE SPLITTING AND / OR CUTTING PLAN FOR WOODEN LOGS DEPENDING ON THEIR QUALITY, SHAPE AND / OR DIMENSIONS AND THE METHOD OF ITS OPERATION.

[0002] Technical field

[0003] The invention relates to the device for marking of the splitting and / or cutting plan on a wooden log depending on its quality, shape and / or dimensions, and the method of its operation.

[0004] Background

[0005] Currently, wooden logs are processed on semi-automated or automated machines. This is the process in which the ends of the logs are cut off and the logs are then moved, either automatically or manually, to devices that split them lengthwise. The longitudinal cutting planes are selected manually in the device or by software that programs the optimum longitudinal cuts in order to maximise the utilisation of logs. After the logs have been processed in this way, the individual separated pieces are checked to ensure that they meet the quality requirements. Processed timber sawn may, or in many cases contains defects that were not visible before the log was processed (e.g. low wood density, knots, voids, wood-boring insects, fungi, moulds). The wood processed in this way that shows defects is usually labelled as firewood for burning, which then leads to financial losses and inefficient work. Currently, there are devices for scanning wood logs to detect any defects and flaws hidden inside the logs.

[0006] Essence of the invention

[0007] The shortcomings of the prior art are remedied by the solution or device for marking of the splitting and / or cutting plan on a wooden log depending on its quality, shape and / or dimensions, as defined in the patent claims, the essence of which consists in having two stands in the lower part provided with anchoring elements, while in the upper part the stands are connected with the connecting element, and one of the stands is equipped with the securing bar against falling. The upper parts of the stands are equipped with lower guide rails on which the frame is slidingly attached with the upper ramp, which is slidingly attached on the frame in the vertical direction. The frame is equipped with the actuator for driving the frame along the lower guide rails and the ramp is equipped with the actuator for moving the ramp vertically along the frame. The carrier is movably mounted on the ramp in the horizontal direction, on which the linear motor is mounted and at the end of which is mounted the firing device for marking of the splitting and / or cutting plan for the logs which is rotatable through the drive in angle 360 °.

[0008] The device for marking of the splitting and / or cutting plan uses data from the 3D CT scanner or other log scanner. This data is read by the application within the developed software, which then displays the dimensions, shape and quality parameters of the scanned log. The application then either automatically or manually marks defects in the scanned log and / or takes into account the shape and dimensions of the scanned log. Based on the defects and / or the shape and dimensions, either the operator or the algorithm can then decide on the optimal transverse and longitudinal cutting of the log, either by splitting, sawing or peeling, or other mechanical cutting of the log. For this optimisation, the software uses data on the required dimensions of the products after cutting, as well as their required quality parameters. The software then generates an optimal splitting / cutting, peeling or other mechanical plan for splitting the logs in both the transverse and longitudinal directions. After the automatic crosscutting of the log, the face of each sliced log is then scanned for the purpose of detecting the current position of the log, by determining of the density of the growth rings for the given log, by loading of the unique code of the log and by scanning of any defects after cross-cutting, as for example, the face cracks caused by the tension of material in the cut.

[0009] The software then evaluates this data and updates the previous optimum longitudinal split based on it. Simultaneously, it compares the position of the log when scanned in the 3D CT scanner (or other log scanner) with the position of the log after transverse cutting. Subsequently, the firing head fires the optimal splitting / cutting, peeling or other mechanical log splitting plan at the log face. This plan is read by the camera in the next process of longitudinal cutting of the log and then the log is processed according to this plan and it is cut longitudinally. Overview of the figures on drawings

[0010] Figure 1 shows the device for marking of the splitting and / or cutting plan on a wooden log depending on its quality, shape and / or dimensions in axonometric view. Figure 2 shows a detail of the firing head.

[0011] Examples of embodiment

[0012] The device for marking of the splitting and / or cutting plan on a wooden log depending on its quality, shape and / or dimensions has two stands 1 in the lower part provided with anchoring elements 2, wherein in the upper part the stands 1 are connected with the connecting element 3 and one of the stands 1 is equipped with the securing bar 4 against falling. The upper parts of the stands 1 are equipped with lower guide rails 5, on which the frame 6 is slidingly attached, with the upper ramp 7 slidingly attached on the frame 6 in the vertical direction. The frame 6 is equipped with the actuator 8 for driving the frame 6 along the lower guide rails 5, and the ramp 7 is equipped with the actuator 9 for vertical movement of the ramp 7 along the frame 6. On the ramp 7 is movably mounted in the horizontal direction the carrier 10, on which the linear motor 11 is mounted and at the end of which is mounted the firing device 12 for marking of the splitting and / or cutting plan on the log which is rotatable through the actuator 13 in angle 360 °.

[0013] The device uses data from the 3D CT scanner or other log scanner to mark the splitting and / or cutting plan. This data is read by the application within the developed software, which then displays the dimensions, shape and quality parameters of the scanned log. The application then either automatically or manually marks defects in the scanned log. Based on the defects, either the operator or the algorithm can then decide on the optimal transverse and longitudinal cutting of the log, either by splitting, sawing or peeling, or by other mechanical log cutting. For this optimization, the software uses data on the required dimensions of the products after cutting, as well as their required quality parameters. The software then generates the optimal splitting / cutting, peeling or other mechanical plan for splitting the logs in both the transverse and longitudinal direction. After the automatic cross-cutting of the log, the face of each sliced log is then scanned to detect the actual position of the log, by determining of the density of the growth rings for the log, by loading of the unique code of the log and by scanning of any defects after cross-cutting, such as face cracks caused by tension of material in the cut. The software then evaluates this data and updates the previous optimum longitudinal split based on it. Simultaneously, it compares the position of the log when scanned in the 3D CT scanner (or other log scanner) with the position of the log after transverse cutting. The firing head then fires the optimal splitting / cutting, peeling or other mechanical plan for splitting the log at its face. This plan is read by the camera in the next process of longitudinal cutting of the log and then the log is processed according to this plan and it is cut longitudinally.
