Description

[0001] DESCRIPTION

[0002] NFC READING MODULE

[0003] Technical Field

[0004] The present invention relates to a near field communication (NFC) reading module which enables the structure allowing the door lock to be unlocked by near field communication in order to enter the vehicle to take up less space.

[0005] Background of the Invention

[0006] In NFC modules used in vehicles for key identification and to enter the vehicle, designs with covers take up a lot of space. Considering the large number of parts and limited space in vehicles, designs with covers are not highly preferred. For this reason, there is a need to change the structure of the NFC reading module in order to save space by reducing the space occupied by the NFC module in the vehicle.

[0007] The United States patent document no. US2016135317, an application included in the state of the art, discloses an electronic system with potting filler used in vehicles. The invention subject to the said patent document relates to an electronic control device for a vehicle which comprises an electronic control board which electrically controls various parts of a vehicle; a connector which is electrically connected with this electronic control board; an extruded housing which is open on both sides and on one side of which the connector is inserted and accommodated in a slot manner; a connector cover which covers an open side of the extruded housing by being connected to the connector, and a back cover which covers the other open side of the extruded housing. A first potting layer is formed on the top side of the connector cover, and a second potting layer is formed on the back cover, adjacent to the other side of the extruded housing. Summary of the Invention

[0008] An object of the present invention is to realize a near field communication (NFC) reading module which enables the structure allowing the door lock to be unlocked by near field communication in order to enter the vehicle to take up less space.

[0009] Detailed Description of the Invention

[0010] “NFC Reading Module” realized to fulfil the objective of the present invention is shown in the figures attached, in which:

[0011] Figure 1 is a general view of the inventive NFC reading module.

[0012] Figure 2 is a view showing the inventive NFC reading module without the NFC reader board in the slot.

[0013] Figure 3 is a view showing the slot in the inventive NFC reading module.

[0014] The components illustrated in the figures are individually numbered, where the numbers refer to the following:

[0015] 1. NFC reading module

[0016] 2. NFC reader board

[0017] 3. Slot

[0018] 4. Connection element

[0019] 5. Cable

[0020] 6. Cable holder

[0021] 7. Connector

[0022] The inventive near field communication (NFC) reading module (1) which enables the structure allowing the door lock to be unlocked by near field communication in order to enter the vehicle to take up less space comprises at least one NFC reader board (2) which is a printed circuit board (PCB); is positioned on the vehicle; and enables the locks on vehicle doors to be unlocked / locked by reading the data on the key or card that is approached in order to unlock the vehicle via near field communication;

[0023] at least one slot (3) which has the shape of a box with an open surface of such dimensions that the NFC reader board (2) can be inserted therein and in which the top and periphery of the NFC reader board (2) is filled with a material that does not interfere with the communication with the key or card used to unlock via near field communication;

[0024] at least one connection element (4) in the form of connecting bolts, which enables the slot (3) to be fixed on the post between the front and rear doors of the vehicle so that it remains on the inner surface of the vehicle; at least one cable (5) which enables the electrical energy required for the operation of the NFC reader board (2) to be transmitted and is connected to the NFC reader board (2) at one end;

[0025] at least one cable holder (6) which enables the cable (5) to be held stationary on desired surfaces in the vehicle in order to prevent the cable (5) from hanging; and

[0026] at least one connector (7) which is connected at one end to the cable (5) and at the other end to the electrical supply in the vehicle and establishes the connection from the electrical supply to the NFC reader board (2) to supply the energy it requires.

[0027] The NFC reader board (2) included in the inventive NFC reading module (1) can read the data on the circuit board in a key or card via near field communication and enables the unlocking and locking process of the vehicle to be performed.

[0028] The NFC reader board (2) is inserted into the slot (3) included in the inventive NFC reading module (1) through its open surface and then the top of the board (2) and the gaps in between are potted with a mixture that is used as a cross-linker in epoxy systems and has the consistency of an eraser. The slot (3) is left for curing after the potting process applied thereon, and after curing, becomes a structure that provides sealing and provides protection against any impact that may land on the NFC reader board (2) and against dust, dirt or foreign materials that may come from the environment. In one embodiment of the invention, the slot (3) is potted with an epoxy hardener mixture in a way that covers the top of the board (2) and the gaps in between after the NFC reader board (2) is inserted therein.

[0029] Industrial Application of the Invention

[0030] By means of the inventive NFC reading module (1), it becomes possible to insert the NFC reader board (2) used in the locking and unlocking processes of the vehicle in a way that takes up less space on the vehicle, and it is enabled to protect the NFC reader board (2) against liquid leakage, cracking or breakage due to impact and environmental dust or dirt problems through the potting applied to the slot (3). The applied potting eliminates the need for the cover on the NFC reader board (2), which is used in the current technique and occupies space.

[0031] Within these basic concepts; it is possible to develop various embodiments of the inventive “NFC Reading Module (1)”; the invention cannot be limited to examples disclosed herein and it is essentially according to claims.
