Over-the-top measurement procedure for positioning or sensing with a scheduled measurement procedure time

Abstract

Aspects of the disclosure are directed to an over-the-top (OTT) measurement procedure for positioning or sensing with a scheduled measurement procedure time. In an aspect, the OTT measurement procedure is performed at a wireless node and corresponds to an OTT position estimation session of a target user equipment (UE) or an OTT sensing session for sensing of a tracking object. In an aspect, the OTT measurement procedure comprises transmission or reception or both of one or more reference signals for positioning or sensing (RS-P-Ss) in association with the scheduled measurement procedure time information. In an aspect, the wireless node transmits, to a measurement procedure management entity, measurement information associated with the OTT measurement procedure to the measurement procedure management entity. Such aspects may provide various technical advantages, such as extending scheduled measurement procedures to non-OTT use cases.
