Rendering multi-sensory experiences from bed-based and object-based representations

Abstract

Some methods for controlling a set of controllable actuators of a playback environment may involve obtaining actuator data for the set of one or more controllable actuators, the actuator data including at least actuator type information and actuator layout information, receiving bed-based sensory content and receiving object-based sensory content including a set of one or more spatial sensory objects. Some methods may involve rendering the bed-based sensory content and the object-based sensory content to produce one or more actuator control signals. The rendering may be based at least in part on the actuator data. Some methods may involve providing the one or more actuator control signals to one or more controllable actuators of the set of controllable actuators.
