Abstract
Description
Refill blister for mesh cushion and cosmetic container including the same
[0001] This patent application claims priority to Korean Patent Application No. 10-2024-0173287, filed with the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Korea on November 28, 2024, the disclosures of said patent application are incorporated herein by reference.
[0002] The present invention relates to a refill blister and a cosmetic container including the same, and in particular to a refill blister for a mesh cushion cosmetic and a cosmetic container including the same.
[0003] Mesh cushion products have recently gained significant popularity in the cosmetics market due to their advantages of enabling uniform dispensing and precise application. Through their fine mesh structure, mesh cushions dispense cosmetics evenly, allowing for natural-looking makeup without caking and preventing excessive use.
[0004] Conventional mesh cushion products were structured such that a mesh ring was directly attached to the cosmetic container itself, which was primarily manufactured using injection molding. In this structure, the mesh ring was permanently attached to the main body of the cosmetic container, causing the inconvenience of having to replace only the contents when refilling. Additionally, due to the injection molding method, manufacturing costs were high, the production process was complex, and mass production was difficult.
[0005] In particular, the existing mesh ring attachment method utilized a conventional heat sealing process, which had the disadvantages of low adhesion and slow production speed. Furthermore, the heat sealing process was difficult to automate, often requiring reliance on manual labor, which resulted in reduced productivity and inconsistent quality.
[0006] In addition, PP (polypropylene) material is suitable as a material for cosmetic containers due to its excellent barrier properties, but it has been difficult to use as a material for mesh cushion refill containers because blister molding is difficult. As a result, most refill mesh cushion containers were manufactured using injection molding, which led to an increase in product unit costs.
[0007] Furthermore, while the demand for refill products is increasing due to rising consumer awareness of environmental protection, existing mesh cushion products have had their mesh attached to the main body of the container, making actual refilling difficult. This has resulted in unnecessary resource waste and has become a factor in increasing the environmental burden.
[0008] To solve these problems, there has been a demand for the development of a new type of mesh cushion refill blister that allows the mesh ring to be effectively attached to the refill blister, reduces manufacturing costs, and improves productivity. In particular, there is a need to develop a mesh cushion refill blister and a cosmetic container containing it that can standardize quality and improve adhesion through an automated production process.
[0009] One objective of the present invention is to provide a refill blister for a mesh cushion and a cosmetic container including the same, which enables the refill blister of a cosmetic container to be substantially refillable by fusing a mesh ring for the mesh cushion to the blister.
[0010] In addition, the present invention aims to enable an automated production process that welds with uniform quality by welding mesh rings using ultrasonic welding technology, and to improve the adhesion of mesh rings.
[0011] In addition, the present invention aims to incorporate the features necessary for refilling mesh cushion cosmetics into a blister pack rather than a cosmetic container, thereby making it compatible with an air cushion refill blister pack in a single cosmetic container.
[0012] To achieve the above objective, the present invention is characterized by comprising: a main body including a circular upper opening; a stepped portion formed along the edge of the upper opening of the main body and recessed downward; a mesh ring seated on the stepped portion and joined to the stepped portion by an ultrasonic welding method; and a sealing film that is bonded to an adhesive portion provided in the upper opening of the main body to seal the main body.
[0013] Preferably, the main body can be manufactured by thermoforming a sheet of PP (Polypropylene) material.
[0014] Preferably, the stepped portion is formed by being recessed to a depth equal to the thickness of the mesh ring, so that after the mesh ring is joined, the upper surface of the main body and the upper surface of the mesh ring can form substantially the same plane.
[0015] Preferably, the stepped portion is formed to have an inner diameter substantially equal to the outer diameter of the mesh ring, so that the mesh ring can be fitted and coupled to the stepped portion.
[0016] Preferably, the refill blister for the mesh cushion can be manufactured by including a film insertion process, a film preheating and forming process, a contents filling process, a mesh ring insertion and ultrasonic sealing process, a sealing film sealing process, and a product cutting process.
[0017] Preferably, the film preheating process is performed in a temperature range of 150°C to 220°C, the molding process is performed with a blow time of 2 to 5 seconds, and the sealing process can be performed in a temperature range of 180°C to 230°C.
[0018] In addition, the present invention is further characterized by comprising: a refill blister containing a cosmetic product inside; a lower cap having a seating space for receiving the refill blister; a holder formed in a ring shape and coupled with the lower cap with the refill blister in between to fix the refill blister; an intermediate cap hinged to the holder and including a lower surface that covers the refill blister to prevent leakage of the cosmetic product and an upper surface that receives a cosmetic cushion; and an upper cap hinged to the lower cap to be openable and closable; wherein the refill blister is a refill blister for a mesh cushion and comprises a main body including a circular upper opening, a stepped portion formed along the edge of the upper opening of the main body and recessed downward, a mesh ring seated on the stepped portion and coupled to the stepped portion by an ultrasonic welding method, and a sealing film that is bonded to an adhesive portion provided in the upper opening of the main body to seal the main body.
[0019] Preferably, a screw is provided on the outer surface of the seating space of the lower cap so that the lower cap and the holder are rotatably coupled, and the holder can be configured to be opened and closed by rotating 90 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise.
[0020] The present invention has the advantage of making the ripple blister of a cosmetic container substantially refillable by fusing a mesh ring for a mesh cushion to the blister.
[0021] In addition, the present invention has the advantage of enabling an automated production process that welds with uniform quality by welding mesh rings using ultrasonic welding technology, and improving the adhesion of the mesh rings.
[0022] In addition, the present invention has the advantage of increasing ease of production by manufacturing the blister from a PP (Polypropylene) sheet.
[0023] In addition, the present invention has the advantage of being compatible with air cushion refill blisters in a single cosmetic container, allowing consumers to select and use the type of refill they want.

[0039] Hereinafter, the technical configuration of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the attached drawings.
[0040] Cushion foundations are classified into air cushion and mesh cushion types. An air cushion contains a sponge impregnated with liquid foundation, and since the cosmetic is contained within the soft sponge, it can be applied by pressing with a puff. A mesh cushion is a type in which the cosmetic is dispensed through a fine mesh, allowing for thinner and more even makeup application as the product is evenly dispensed through the mesh.
[0041] Traditionally, air cushion foundations or mesh cushion foundations were released with the product contained within cosmetic containers that included a cushion or mirror. Therefore, to switch from an air cushion foundation to a mesh cushion foundation, the entire container had to be repurchased.
[0042] Recently, products have been released in containers designed so that only the cosmetic portion is refillable; however, this applies to the same product line—specifically, air cushions can only be refilled with air cushions, and mesh cushions can only be refilled with mesh cushions. Therefore, even with these new refillable containers, switching from an air cushion foundation to a mesh cushion foundation requires purchasing the entire container again.
[0043] The refill blister for an air cushion and the refill blister for a mesh cushion according to an embodiment of the present invention have the essential components required for the air cushion and mesh cushion foundation provided in the blister itself, so they can be compatible in a single cosmetic container.
[0044] Below, we examine the features of cosmetic containers, refill blisters for air cushions, refill blisters for mesh cushions, and compatible cosmetic containers.
[0045]
[0046] Example 1. Cosmetic container
[0047] FIG. 1 shows a configuration diagram of a cosmetic container (10) according to an embodiment of the present invention. Referring to FIG. 1, the cosmetic container (10) may include a refill blister (100, 600), a lower cap (200), a holder (500), a middle cap (400), and an upper cap (300).
[0048] The refill blister (100, 600) may be configured to be refillable as a separate component from the cosmetic container (10). The refill blister (100, 600) may be manufactured in the form of a capsule and may be attached to or detached from the cosmetic container (10). The refill blister (100, 600) may contain a cosmetic product inside, specifically a cosmetic product for a mesh cushion or an air cushion. However, it is not limited thereto and may contain any possible cosmetic product. If the refill blister (100, 600) contains a cosmetic product for an air cushion, it may include a sponge impregnated with the cosmetic product inside.
[0049] The refill blister (100, 600) can be manufactured using a sheet-type material, preferably a PP film. Therefore, the refill blister (100, 600) can be manufactured using a fully automated process from molding with PP film, filling with contents, sealing, and cutting, thereby increasing productivity and lowering the unit cost, moving away from the injection molding structure which has the disadvantage of high unit costs, high processing costs, and high unit costs.
[0050] The lower cap (200) may be provided with a seating space for accommodating the refill blister (100, 600). The seating space may be larger than the outer diameter of the container portion where the cosmetic of the refill blister (100, 600) is stored. The seating space may be smaller than the outer diameter of the adhesive portion of the refill blister (100, 600). Therefore, the refill blister (100, 600) can be stably mounted in the seating space due to the difference in outer diameter between the container portion and the adhesive portion, and the holder (500) can be in close contact with the seating space and the adhesive portion to fix the refill blister (100, 600).
[0051] A screw may be provided on the outer surface of the seating space. The screw provided in the seating space may be used for rotational coupling of the holder (500) and the lower cap (200). The screw may be formed such that it can be opened and closed when the holder (500) and the lower cap (200) are rotated 90 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise.
[0052] The upper cap (300) may be formed to be hinge-connected to the lower cap (200) so as to be openable and closable. The upper cap (300) may include a mirror on its inner surface. The upper cap (300) may include a locking device, such as a toggle device, which prevents it from opening easily when connected to the lower cap (200) and allows the user to open it with simple operation.
[0053] The middle cap (400) is hinge-coupled to the holder (500) and may include a lower surface that covers the refill blister (100, 600) to prevent the cosmetic from leaking out, and an upper surface that accommodates a cosmetic cushion.
[0054] The holder (500) is formed in a ring shape and can secure the refill blister (100, 600) by being combined with the lower cap (200) with the refill blister (100, 600) in between. The holder (500) can secure the refill blister (100, 600) by pressing the seating space and the adhesive part together. The holder (500) may be provided with a screw nut so as to be rotatably coupled with a screw provided in the seating space. The screw provided in the seating space and the screw nut provided in the holder (500) can be used for the rotatably coupled with the lower cap (200), and the screw and screw nut may be formed such that they can be opened and closed when the holder (500) and the lower cap (200) are rotated 90 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise.
[0055] FIG. 2 is a drawing illustrating the method of opening and closing a holder (500) according to an embodiment of the present invention. Referring to FIG. 2, the holder (500) can be opened and closed by rotating it 90 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise. Opposing arrow markings may be engraved on the holder (500) and the lower cap (200).
[0056] In one embodiment, the holder (500) can be fixed to the lower cap (200) by aligning the two engraved arrow marks and rotating it 90 degrees clockwise. Conversely, the holder (500) can be separated from the lower cap (200) by rotating it counterclockwise so that the misaligned arrows align.
[0057]
[0058] Example 2. Air cushion refill blister
[0059] FIG. 3 shows a side view of a refill blister (100) for an air cushion according to an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 4 shows a perspective view of a refill blister (100) for an air cushion according to an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 5 shows a cross-sectional view of a refill blister (100) for an air cushion according to an embodiment of the present invention. Hereinafter, a refill blister (100) for an air cushion will be described with reference to FIG. 3 to FIG. 5.
[0060] Referring to FIGS. 3 and 4, a refill blister (100) for an air cushion may include a main body (110), a vertical rib (120), an undercut portion (130), an adhesive portion (140), an impregnated sponge (150), and a sealing film (160).
[0061] A refill blister (100) for an air cushion can be manufactured through a film insertion process, a film preheating and molding process, an impregnated sponge insertion and contents filling process, and a sealing film sealing and product cutting process.
[0062] The film preheating process can be performed in a temperature range of 150°C to 180°C, the molding process can be performed with a blow time of 2 to 5 seconds, and the sealing process can be performed in a temperature range of 200°C to 230°C.
[0063] The film feeding process can unwind the PP film from a roll and supply it to a blister forming machine. Here, the PP film must be supplied while maintaining constant tension, and its thickness and width can be selected to meet the specifications of the final product.
[0064] The film preheating and forming process may include a step of softening the PP film so that it becomes suitable for thermoforming. Since forming is incomplete at too low a temperature and the film may sag or deform at too high a temperature, the film preheating and forming process may be performed in a temperature range of 150°C to 180°C, and the PP film may be heated using upper and lower heaters to ensure a uniform temperature distribution.
[0065] The film preheating and forming process involves pressing the preheated PP film against a mold and forming it using compressed air or vacuum. In the film preheating and forming process, if the blow time is too short, the forming is incomplete, and if it is too long, productivity may decrease. The film preheating and forming process may include a step of creating undercuts.
[0066] The sealing process can seal the upper part of the main body filled with contents with a sealing film. Since the sealing process has weak sealing power at very low temperatures and the film may be damaged at very high temperatures, the temperature can be set considering the adhesion between the PP film and the sealing film while maintaining appropriate pressure and time to ensure a perfect seal. Preferably, the sealing process can be performed in a temperature range of 200°C to 230°C.
[0067] The main body (110) may include a circular upper opening. The main body (110) may be manufactured by thermoforming a sheet of PP (Polypropylene) material.
[0068] The main body (110) is a container for holding cosmetics and can be manufactured by thermoforming a sheet of PP (polypropylene) material. PP material is suitable as a material for cosmetic containers because it has excellent chemical resistance and excellent moisture barrier properties.
[0069] The vertical ribs (120) are formed on the inner surface of the main body (110) and can be formed continuously in multiple numbers along the inner circumference. The vertical ribs (120) can increase the overall rigidity of the main body (110) manufactured by thermoforming of a PP film. The vertical ribs (120) can serve as a guide to position the impregnated sponge (150) in a fixed position. In addition, the vertical ribs (120), together with the undercut portion (130), can restrict the up-down and left-right movement of the impregnated sponge (150).
[0070] The undercut portion (130) is formed to protrude inward from the upper portion of the vertical rib (120) to prevent the impregnated sponge (150) from coming off.
[0071] Conventional blister containers formed an undercut by aligning it with a mold and then moving the mold up and down to form the undercut. In other words, since the mold was forcibly removed after the undercut was created, there were limitations on the size of the undercut.
[0072] The undercut portion (130) according to the present invention can be formed by the slide core structure of the mold during blister molding. The undercut portion (130) is formed by the forward and backward movements of the slide core, and the slide core can form an undercut through the forward movement and eject the refill blister with the undercut formed through the backward movement.
[0073] FIG. 6 is a drawing for explaining the operation of a slide core, where FIG. 6 (a) shows a forward movement and FIG. 6 (b) shows a backward movement. Referring to FIG. 6 (a), when forming a container, the slide core can be advanced to create an undercut portion (130), and the slide core can be backward to extract a blister.
[0074] Accordingly, since the undercut portion (130) according to the present invention does not create an undercut by forcibly pulling it out, there is no limitation on the size of the undercut. In one embodiment, the undercut portion (130) may be formed to protrude inward by more than 1 mm from the upper portion of the vertical rib (120).
[0075] The adhesive portion (140) may be provided around the upper opening of the main body (110) and may provide a flat surface for adhesion with the sealing film. The adhesive portion (140) may be processed smoothly for perfect sealing with the sealing film.
[0076] The impregnated sponge (150) can be accommodated within the main body (110). The impregnated sponge (150) is a component that serves to contain and uniformly discharge cosmetic ingredients, and can be manufactured from a polyurethane (PU) material having an open cell structure. The open cell structure allows the pores inside the sponge to be connected to one another, making it easy to impregnate and discharge cosmetic ingredients. The outer diameter of the impregnated sponge (150) is manufactured to be about 0.5 mm to 1 mm larger than the inner diameter of the main body (110), so that it can be mounted in a compressed state. This is to ensure that the sponge adheres to the inner wall of the main body to prevent movement. In particular, the vertical rib (120) and the undercut portion (130) on the inner side of the main body can serve to stably fix the impregnated sponge (150).
[0077] The sealing film (160) can be bonded to the adhesive portion (140) provided in the upper opening of the main body (110) to seal the main body (110).
[0078]
[0079] Example 3. Mesh cushion refill blister
[0080] FIG. 7 shows a perspective view of a refill blister (600) for a mesh cushion according to an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 8 shows a cross-sectional view of a refill blister (600) for a mesh cushion according to an embodiment of the present invention. Hereinafter, the refill blister (600) for a mesh cushion will be described with reference to FIG. 7 and FIG. 8.
[0081] Referring to FIGS. 7 and 8, a refill blister (600) for a mesh cushion may include a main body (610), a stepped portion (620), a mesh ring (630), an adhesive portion (640), and a sealing film (650).
[0082] A refill blister (600) for a mesh cushion can be manufactured by including a film insertion process, a film preheating and molding process, a contents filling process, a mesh ring insertion and ultrasonic sealing process, a sealing paper sealing process, and a product cutting process.
[0083] The film preheating process can be performed in a temperature range of 150°C to 220°C, the molding process can be performed with a blow time of 2 to 5 seconds, and the sealing process can be performed in a temperature range of 180°C to 230°C.
[0084] The method of manufacturing the refill blister (600) for the mesh cushion is the same as the method of manufacturing the refill blister (100) for the air cushion mentioned earlier, except for the mesh ring insertion and ultrasonic sealing process.
[0085] The mesh ring insertion and ultrasonic sealing process can accurately position the mesh ring (630) on the stepped portion (620) of the main body (610). At this time, the mesh ring insertion and ultrasonic sealing process can verify the direction and position of the mesh through a vision system, and if the position is misaligned, the position of the mesh ring (630) can be adjusted to exactly match the stepped portion (620) of the main body (610). The mesh ring insertion and ultrasonic sealing process can position the horn of the ultrasonic welding machine on the upper part of the mesh ring (630). The contact surface of the horn can be adjusted to exactly match the frame portion of the mesh ring. By aligning the contact surface of the horn with the frame portion of the mesh ring, damage to the mesh can be prevented.
[0086] The mesh ring insertion and ultrasonic sealing process can apply ultrasonic energy for 0.1 seconds to 1.0 seconds using a frequency in the range of 15 kHz to 40 kHz, and the welding pressure can be set in the range of 150 kg to 250 kg. The mesh ring insertion and ultrasonic sealing process can melt and bond the mesh ring (630) and the main body (610) using frictional heat generated by ultrasonic vibration.
[0087] The mesh ring insertion and ultrasonic sealing process can be cooled while maintaining pressure for a certain period of time after fusion. During this process, the mesh ring (630) and the main body (610) can be completely joined.
[0088] The main body (610) may include a circular upper opening. The main body (610) may be manufactured by thermoforming a sheet of PP (Polypropylene) material. PP film material has excellent chemical resistance and moisture barrier properties, and is particularly suitable as a material for blisters because it has excellent bonding strength with a mesh ring during ultrasonic welding.
[0089] The stepped portion (620) is formed along the upper opening edge of the main body (610) and can be recessed downward. The stepped portion (620) is formed by being recessed to a depth equal to the thickness of the mesh ring (630), so that after the mesh ring (630) is joined, the upper surface of the main body (610) and the upper surface of the mesh ring (630) can form substantially the same plane.
[0090] The stepped portion (620) is formed to have an inner diameter substantially equal to the outer diameter of the mesh ring (630), so that the mesh ring (630) can be fitted into the stepped portion (620). The mesh ring (630) is stably seated on the stepped portion (620) and can be joined to the stepped portion (620) by an ultrasonic welding method.
[0091] The adhesive portion (640) may be provided around the upper opening of the main body (610) and may provide a flat surface for adhesion with the sealing film. The adhesive portion (640) may be processed smoothly for perfect sealing with the sealing film.
[0092] The sealing film (650) can be bonded to the adhesive portion (640) provided in the upper opening of the main body (610) to seal the main body (610).
[0093]
[0094] Example 4. Compatible cosmetic container
[0095] The cosmetic container (10) according to an embodiment of the present invention is compatible with an air cushion refill blister (100) and a mesh cushion refill blister (600). That is, the user can selectively attach an air cushion refill blister (100) or a mesh cushion refill blister (600) to the cosmetic container (10) as needed. The user can use the cosmetic container (10) with the air cushion refill blister (100) attached, and then switch to using the mesh cushion refill blister (600).
[0096] A compatible air cushion refill blister (100) may include a main body having a circular upper opening, a plurality of vertical ribs formed on the inner surface of the main body and continuously formed along the inner circumference, an undercut portion formed protruding inward from the upper end of the vertical ribs to prevent the impregnated sponge from escaping, and an impregnated sponge accommodated within the main body. That is, the compatible air cushion refill blister (100) may be the aforementioned air cushion refill blister (100).
[0097] A compatible mesh cushion refill blister (600) may include a main body including a circular upper opening, a stepped portion formed along the edge of the upper opening of the main body and recessed downward, a mesh ring that rests on the stepped portion and is joined to the stepped portion by an ultrasonic welding method, and a sealing film that seals the main body by being bonded to an adhesive portion provided in the upper opening of the main body. That is, the compatible mesh cushion refill blister (600) may be the aforementioned mesh cushion refill blister (600).
[0098] The reason why the air cushion refill blister (100) and the mesh cushion refill blister (600) can be selectively used as refill containers is that the necessary feature configurations for each type of refill blister are included in the refill blister itself. That is, the cosmetic container (10) includes only the basic configuration for attaching and detaching the refill blister, and the air cushion refill blister (100) and the mesh cushion refill blister (600) each include their respective feature configurations.
[0099] For example, the air cushion refill blister (100) includes an undercut portion (130) to prevent the impregnated sponge (150) from coming out, and the mesh cushion refill blister (600) includes a mesh ring (630) for using the mesh cushion.
[0100] Although the present invention has been described in detail above through representative embodiments, those skilled in the art will understand that various modifications can be made to the above-described embodiments within the scope of the present invention. Therefore, the scope of the present invention should not be limited to the described embodiments, but should be determined by the claims set forth below as well as all modifications or variations derived from the claims and equivalent concepts.
[0101] The present invention has the advantage of making the ripple blister of a cosmetic container substantially refillable by fusing a mesh ring for a mesh cushion to the blister.
[0102] In addition, the present invention has the advantage of enabling an automated production process that welds with uniform quality by welding mesh rings using ultrasonic welding technology, and improving the adhesion of the mesh rings.
[0103] In addition, the present invention has the advantage of increasing ease of production by manufacturing the blister from a PP (Polypropylene) sheet.
[0104] In addition, the present invention has the advantage of being compatible with air cushion refill blisters in a single cosmetic container, allowing consumers to select and use the type of refill they want.
