Abstract

A display device (2) comprises: a flexible substrate (12); a display unit (33) provided on the flexible substrate (12); a terminal unit (34) provided on the flexible substrate (12) between the display unit (33) and an end (37) of the flexible substrate (12); and a lower surface film (10) provided on the flexible substrate (12). A bending region (38) in which a part of the flexible substrate (12) and a part of the terminal unit (34) are bent is superimposed on a slit-shaped recess (41) having a film thickness thinner than other portions of the lower surface film (10). The recess (41) is constituted by a first thin film part (42), a second thin film part (43), and an opening (44). The first thin film part (42) and the second thin film part (43) each include a slit-shaped first region (45, 47) and a slit-shaped second region (46, 48) closer to the opening (44) than the first region (45, 47), and the film thickness of the second region (46, 48) is thinner than the film thickness of the first region (45, 47).
