SILO bag with electronics for stored grain quality control incorporated into the bag wall

Abstract

A tubular plastic bag used for the hermetic storage of grains during the post-harvest stage, which contains a flexible strip adhered to the plastic wall of the bag and comprises an electrically conductive material to which a plurality of electronic modules with sensors that measure certain parameters of the atmosphere of the stored grains connect to. These sensors are electrically interconnected to a radiofrequency transmitter module that receives the digital data obtained by the sensors and wirelessly transmits it to a receiver module connected to the internet. This setup allows the data collected by the sensors to be visualized on a computer screen through specific software, enabling the monitoring of the preservation status of the stored grains.
