AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Insulating coatings on flat rectangular conductors face challenges in maintaining uniformity and deformation resistance at corners, leading to potential insulation failures.

Method used

A flat rectangular wire with a fluorine-containing polymer coating, where the distance between the conductor corner and coating corner (R_A) is greater than the shortest distance (R_B), and specific manufacturing conditions are used to ensure a uniform coating thickness and high tensile modulus, suppressing deformation at corners.

Benefits of technology

The solution effectively suppresses deformation of the insulating coating at corners, ensuring excellent insulation properties and resistance to bending, while maintaining a smooth and uniform coating.

Abstract

A flat wire having a rectangular cross section in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction, the flat wire comprising a flat conductor having a rectangular cross section in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction, and a coating film of an insulating coating material that directly covers the entire circumference of the flat conductor, wherein: the cross-sectional area of the flat conductor is 2.0 mm2 or more; the average thickness of the coating film of the insulating coating material is 10 to 500 μm; the insulating coating material contains a fluorine-containing polymer; the tensile modulus of elasticity of the insulating coating material is 60 to 2900 MPa; and, in the cross section of the flat wire, when a distance between a corner portion of the flat conductor and a corner portion of the coating film of the insulating coating material closest to the corner portion of the flat conductor is defined as RA, and a distance between one side of the outer periphery of the flat conductor and one side of the outer periphery of the coating film of the insulating coating material closest to the one side of the outer periphery of the flat conductor is defined as RB, RA > RB is satisfied.
