AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing intubation devices require skilled personnel and complex mechanisms for inserting and removing endotracheal tubes, leading to inefficiencies in intubation procedures due to the shortage of anesthesiologists and the need for quick and easy intubation methods.

Method used

A flexible tongue base elevation device with a tubular housing, a bendable tip portion, and a slit mechanism allows for easy insertion and removal of intubation tubes, facilitated by a wire-driven bending mechanism or a manual link mechanism, enabling simple and efficient intubation even by inexperienced personnel.

🎯Benefits of technology

Enables easy and efficient intubation by reducing the need for specialized skills, allowing for quick and reliable airway management with minimal invasiveness and ease of use.

Abstract

A tongue root elevating instrument according to one aspect of the present invention comprises: a tubular accommodation part which has flexibility and in which an intubation tube for use in securing an airway is linearly accommodated; a notch part in which a tip part, of the accommodation part, to be inserted into a mouth can be curved and deformed; and a slit which allows the intubation tube accommodated in the accommodation part to be removed from a side surface of the accommodation part. The tip part is inserted into the mouth and then is curved to assist in insertion of the intubation tube into an indwelling position, and after the intubation tube is inserted into the indwelling position, the intubation tube can be removed through the slit and the tongue root elevating instrument can be removed from the mouth. The present invention can provide a tongue root elevating instrument that enables simple and easy operation of an intubation tube.
