AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing minimally invasive medical procedures lack effective systems for concurrently displaying interactive support features with real-time endoscopic images, hindering clinician efficiency and procedure effectiveness.

Method used

A medical system with a display system and repositionable assembly that supports medical instruments, featuring a graphical user interface with a primary pane for interactive content and a subordinated secondary pane for real-time endoscopic images, allowing manipulation of both through input control devices.

Benefits of technology

Enables clinicians to interact with interactive content while maintaining an uninterrupted endoscopic view, enhancing procedural efficiency and accuracy by providing simultaneous display and manipulation of both interactive features and real-time imagery.

Abstract

A medical system may comprise a display system and a repositionable assembly configured to support one or more medical instruments. The medical system may also comprise one or more input control devices configurable to control the one or more medical instruments and a control system including one or more processors. The control system may be configured to display, in a primary pane of a graphical user interface on the display system, interactive content associated with a medical procedure and manipulate the interactive content in response to a first operator input at the one or more input control devices. The control system may also be configured to display, in a subordinated secondary pane of the graphical user interface, a real-time endoscopic image of an anatomic field of view while the primary pane displays the interactive content associated with the medical procedure.
