Abstract

Gas-cooled machine operable at variable rotation speeds, method and control unit. A gas-cooled machine operable at variable rotation speeds comprising: a) a heat generating part; b) a heat exchanger thermally coupled to the heat generating part for dissipating heat from the heat generating part; c) an electric fan arranged for drawing a gas flow through the heat exchanger for dissipating heat from the heat exchanger to the environment, the gas flow thereby being heated; the electric fan being arranged such that it is exposed to the heated gas flow; d) a control unit for controlling heat generation of the machine; wherein the control unit is configured for controlling heat generation of the gas-cooled machine based on at least a reference temperature for the electric fan; associated method and control unit.
