Abstract

The present invention addresses the problem of providing an anaerobic treatment apparatus and an operation method of the anaerobic treatment apparatus capable of suppressing occurrence of a short-circuit flow or eliminating the short-circuit flow in an anaerobic treatment tank, securing fluidity in the anaerobic treatment tank, and improving treatment efficiency when performing anaerobic treatment using the anaerobic treatment tank that holds a carrier or granules. In order to solve the problem, provided are: an anaerobic treatment apparatus provided with an anaerobic treatment tank for holding a carrier or granules, and an external force application mechanism for applying a periodic external force to the content in the anaerobic treatment tank; and an operation method of the anaerobic treatment apparatus. According to the present invention, formation of a short-circuit flow passage in the anaerobic treatment tank can be suppressed, the short-circuit flow passage can be collapsed, and the occurrence of the short-circuit flow in the anaerobic treatment tank can be suppressed or the short-circuit flow can be eliminated. That is, fluidity in the anaerobic treatment tank can be secured and treatment efficiency can be improved.
