Abstract
An apparatus for producing a cast sheet for smoking articles, comprises: a mixer (2), a casting device (6) having inlets (5) in fluid communication with the mixer (2), a surface located under the casting device (6), moving with respect to the casting device (6) along a conveying direction (F) and configured to receive a slurry mixture from the casting device (6) to form a cast sheet. The casting device (6) comprises: a body comprising a back wall (17) and a front wall (19) delimiting therebetween an internal chamber (29) in fluid communication with the inlet (5) and terminating in a bottom slot (30), first actuators (25) operatively coupled to the front wall (19) and configured to move the front wall (19) with respect to the back wall (17) in order to change a width (B) of the bottom slot (30) and a volume of the internal chamber (29) and to hold said width (B) and said volume.
