Description

[0001] DESCRIPTION

[0002] ANCHORING DEVICE FOR ATTACHING A BATHROOM SCREEN TO THE WALL

[0003] Object of the invention

[0004] The invention, as stated in the present descriptive report, refers to an anchoring device for fixing a bathroom screen to the wall, which provides advantages and characteristics to the function for which it is intended, which are described in detail below.

[0005] More specifically, the object of the invention focuses on an anchoring device that, intended for use in fixing a bathroom screen to a wall attached to or facing it by means of an anchoring profile perpendicular to the screen, has the advantageous feature of comprising a rotating joint that allows the adjustment of the fixing angle of said profile to easily adapt to any angle that may exist when it is not perfectly at a right angle to the screen panel.

[0006] Field of application of the invention

[0007] The field of application of the present invention falls within the sector of the industry dedicated to the manufacture of bathroom partitions, focusing particularly on the field of fixing systems for them.

[0008] Background of the invention

[0009] As is well known, shower screens, especially those with a single panel that remains unjoined on at least one side, are typically anchored to a side or opposite wall using an anchor profile. This profile connects at one end to the wall and at the other to a profile on the edge of the shower screen panel, usually the top edge. The problem is that when this connection isn't perfectly perpendicular, which is quite common due to the varied layouts of bathrooms in homes, it's necessary to adjust the joint between the anchor profile and the panel edge profile. This increases the installation cost due to the time involved and, potentially, the need for additional adjustment components.

[0010] The objective of the present invention is to provide an improved fixing system for this type of partition that allows facilitating the fixing of the anchor profile to the partition regardless of the angle that exists with the wall in each case.

[0011] Furthermore, and with reference to the current state of the art, it should be noted that, at least as far as the applicant is concerned, there is no knowledge of any other anchoring device for fixing a bathroom screen to a wall, nor any other invention of similar application, that has technical and structural characteristics equal or similar to those claimed herein.

[0012] Explanation of the invention

[0013] The anchoring device for fixing a bathroom screen to the wall that the invention proposes is configured as an ideal solution to the problem described, while at the same time representing an improvement over what is already known, with the characterizing details that make it possible and that distinguish it being conveniently included in the final claims that accompany this description.

[0014] What the invention proposes, as previously mentioned, is an anchoring device that, intended for use as a system for fixing a bathroom screen to a wall attached to or facing it, has the advantageous feature of comprising a rotating joint that allows the adjustment of the fixing angle to easily adapt to any angle that may exist between the screen and the wall.

[0015] For this purpose, and more specifically, the anchoring device that is the subject of the invention comprises at least one anchoring profile which, at one end, is attached to a perimeter profile of the upper edge of a partition panel and at the opposite end is attached to a wall.

[0016] And, based on this already known arrangement, the device of the invention is distinguished, essentially, by comprising, as the link of the facing joint between the anchor profile and the perimeter profile of the upper edge of the partition panel, a rotating joint formed by two pieces that are joined respectively and in a solid manner to the anchor profile and to the perimeter profile and which, in turn, are articulated to each other, allowing them to be moved to regulate the relative angle between them and, consequently, between the anchor profile and the profile of the edge of the partition, so that they can be placed at the angle that is convenient in each case, regardless of whether it is completely perpendicular or not.Preferably, these two pieces have a configuration with a prismatic end by which they are joined to the respective profiles, and another complementary semicircular end between the two pieces, such that they couple to each other and are joined with the possibility of rotary movement by means of a central screw that acts as an axis.

[0017] Furthermore, between the two pieces of said rotating joint, there is a means of locking the mobility between them, so that, once positioned at the appropriate angle, they are fixed with said locking means to stop them from rotating, preventing them from moving once the screen has been anchored.

[0018] Preferably, the aforementioned locking means that prevents the rotary movement of the two parts forming the rotary joint consists of a set screw that is inserted into one of the parts and locked into the other through a threaded hole provided for this purpose between both parts.

[0019] Description of the drawings

[0020] To complement the description being made and in order to help a better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, this descriptive document is accompanied, as an integral part thereof, by a set of drawings in which the following has been represented for illustrative and non-limiting purposes:

[0021] Figure 1 shows a schematic perspective view of an example of the anchoring device for fixing a bathroom screen to the wall, the object of the invention, represented from a lower viewpoint and from the inside of the screen, showing the main parts and elements it comprises.

[0022] Figure 2 shows a schematic perspective view of the example of the anchoring device of the invention shown in Figure 1, in this case represented from an opposite point of view, i.e., from above and from the outside of the partition, showing in greater detail the rotating joint it comprises.

[0023] And Figure 3 shows a sectioned perspective view, according to a longitudinal cut, of the rotary joint of the anchoring device of the invention, showing its configuration and parts. Preferred embodiment of the invention

[0024] In view of the aforementioned figures, and in accordance with the numbering adopted, one can observe in them an example of a non-limiting embodiment of the anchoring device for fixing a bathroom screen to the wall of the invention, which comprises what is indicated and described in detail below.

[0025] Thus, as can be seen in said figures, the anchoring device (1) of the invention is applicable as a system for fixing a bathroom screen (2) to a wall (not shown), said screen (2) having at least one panel (3) that is provided with a perimeter profile (4), and comprises, at least, an anchoring profile (5) that at one end (not shown) is joined to the wall, by means of any known fixing system and that is not part of the invention, and that at the opposite end is joined facing the perimeter profile (4), preferably in the part of the same located on the upper edge, of the panel (3) of the screen (2) by means of a joining link (6) that has the particularity of being of an easily adjustable angle (a).

[0026] More specifically, this adjustable angle (a) connection (6) is a rotary joint made up of two pieces (6.1, 6.2) that are joined respectively and in a solid manner, a first piece (6.1) to the anchoring profile (5) and a second piece (6.2) to the perimeter profile (4) and which, in turn, are joined articulated to each other, allowing them to be moved in the horizontal plane to regulate the relative angle between them and, consequently, between the anchoring profile (5) and the perimeter profile (4) of the edge of the partition (2).

[0027] Preferably, these two pieces (6.1, 6.2) that constitute the rotary joint of the connecting link (6) have a complementary semicircular end, so that they couple to each other and are joined with the possibility of rotary movement by means of a central screw (7) which, inserted in a central hole (6.3) acts as an axle.

[0028] Preferably, the coupling of the complementary semicircular end of both pieces (6.1, 6.2) comprises the existence of a flange (6.4) on one of them that fits into a channel (6.5) of the other.

[0029] In any case, between said two pieces (6.1, 6.2) that constitute the rotary joint of the connecting link (6) a locking means (8) is provided which prevents the rotary movement of the same once they are positioned at the angle required for the installation of the screen (2).

[0030] Preferably, this locking means (8) is constituted by a second screw, in this case a set screw which, as can be seen in figure 3, is inserted into one of the pieces (6.1) and is locked into the other (6.2) through a threaded hole (6.6) provided obliquely for this purpose between both pieces.

[0031] Finally, it should be noted that the part (6.1) that is rigidly attached to the anchor profile (5) has, at the end opposite the circular configuration that joins it to the other part (6.2), a hollow prismatic structure into which the end of said anchor profile (5) is inserted. For its part, the part (6.2) that is rigidly attached to the perimeter profile (4) of the partition (2) has an L-shaped configuration that joins said profile (4), allowing the part (6.2) to be moved along the profile (4) to position it as needed, depending on each installation.

[0032] Having sufficiently described the nature of the present invention, as well as the manner of putting it into practice, it is not considered necessary to make its explanation more extensive so that any expert in the field may understand its scope and the advantages that derive from it, it being noted that, within its essentiality, it may be put into practice in other forms of embodiment that differ in detail from the one indicated as an example, and which will also achieve the protection sought provided that its fundamental principle is not altered, changed or modified.
