[0002] ePCT Application; Applicant Ref:202541000805 Specification / Description
[0003] 1. Title of the invention
[0004] Manufacture of ' SUGANDHA POWDER ' using herbs and spices, used to make Fireworks Sugandha pyrotechnics crackers. Cracking
[0005] gives an odourless, pleasant, smell.
[0006] 2. Field of Invention:
[0007] The invention relates to Herbs and Spices, manufacturing ' SUGANDHA POWDER ' and related to chemicals, by modifying the conventional fireworks’ pyrotechnic chemical compositions to make SUGANDHA Pyrotechnic crackers, cracking gives an odourless, pleasant, smell, The biodiversity application has been filed before the
[0008] National Biodiversity Authority. Govt of India.
[0009] 3. Description of the invention:
[0010] Back ground
[0011] During the 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy, some families, notably
[0012] the Kushwaha family and the Joshi family, claimed to have survived the toxic methyl isocyanate (MIC) gas leak with minimal or no health effects because they were performing the
[0013] ancient Vedic fire ritual known as Agnihotra / Homam.
[0014] The Agnihotra / Homamis a fire ritual performed daily at
[0015] sunrise and sunset, involving offerings of cow dung, ghee (clarified butter), different types of herbs, spices and specific grains into a copper pyramid-shaped vessel while chanting Vedic mantras. The surviving Kushwaha family in the
[0016] Barkheda area, located near the Union Carbide plant, is the most widely cited example. Another reported significant family recovery from initial symptoms after performing the ritual (continue to the next page )

[0021] Description
[0022] claimed that the fumes and energy generated during the
[0023] Agnihotra created a "protective atmosphere" inside their homes that either neutralised the toxic gas or shielded them from its severe effects, even as chaos and death unfolded outside, and their neighbours were gravely affected.
[0024] This concept has sparked the idea to manufacture Sugandha powder from selective herbs and spices that absorb / scavenge / neutralise toxic gases generated by Fireworks, Pyrotechnic crackers when cracking.
[0025] When cracking, the Conventional Fireworks Pyrotechnic
[0026] Crackers emit an unpleasant odour, creating air
[0027] pollution problems. Hence, cracking crackers
[0028] is prohibited during Deepavali sessions in many states.
[0029] Conventional Fireworks Pyrotechnic crackers are
[0030] manufactured using the following steps::
[0031] (I) Preparing the chemical mixture (dry form) using
[0032] chemicals like strontium Nitrate, Potassium nitrate,
[0033] sulfur, Aluminium powder, carbon dust, Iron oxide
[0034] powder, etc, according to their chemical composition
[0035] formula.
[0036] (ii) The chemical mixture is filled in a tube / cone.
[0037] (iii) The chemically treated cotton rolled with tissue paper
[0038] is fitted to touch the chemical mixture in the tube / cone
[0039] (iv) An attractive label is affixed on the tube / cone,
[0040] allowed to dry, and then packed.

[0071] (ii) Preparation of Curcumin solution.
[0072] Turmeric powder(C21 H20O6 )..1 part (100 grams) is dissolved in water-free hot Ghee(C55H98O6)..2.5 parts
[0073] (250 grams) at 30 degrees C to 40 degrees C, and kept for 30 minutes to 1 hour for complete dissolution of Curcumin. Then, Camphor Powder(C10H16O)..1 part (100 grams) is added to the Curcumin solution was stirred well, and kept in an airtight vessel
[0074] (iii) Preparation of SUGANDHA Powder:
[0075] The grounded herbs and spices powder obtained in (i)
[0076] is dissolved in a Curcumin solution was prepared as per (ii) and stirred well, it is then completely put in an airtight container, allowing quenching for 5 days and then packed to (iv) The method of using SUGANDHA Powder with Conventional Fireworks Pyrotechnic chemical composition: Every conventional Fireworks Pyrotechnic product manufacturer uses an individual chemical composition formula. The main Chemicals are Strontium Nitrate, Aluminium powder, and Magnesium for their Flower Pot, Pencil, sparkler, etc.
[0077] After preparing the conventional chemical composition, for every one kg of conventional chemical composition,
[0078] 80 to 100 grams of the SUGANDHA Powder is evenly
[0079] added to mix with it, before filling the cone / tube, etc.
[0080] Now, SUGANDHA Pyrotechnic crackers are ready.

[0084] Description
[0085] Highlight of Technical details:
[0086] (1)When cracking, the Conventional crackers emit an unpleasant odour, creating air pollution problems. Hence, cracking crackers is prohibited during
[0087] the Deepavali season in many states. The invention of SUGANDHA Pyrotechnic rackets gives fresh life to the Fireworks industry.
[0088] ((2)Sugandha powder can be used to make any cracker manufactured in the Fireworks industry by simply changing the quantity of Sugandha powder in a conventional pyrotechnic chemical composition.
[0089] (3). Sugantha Pyrotechnic crackers contain spices and herbs with
[0090] essential oils such as Anethole, Eugenol, Linalool, 1-8-cineole, Myricetin, Elemicin, terpene, Curcumin and Cinnamon aldehyde, which give them pleasant smell when burned,
[0091] (4) Turmeric, Cloves, Cinnamon, Vetiver, Aniseed, and Cardamom absorb pollutant gases like H2S, SO2, and NO2 that are emitted by the Sugandha Pyrotechnic cracker and controls the odour. The burning smoke / fume
[0092] of the Sugandha powder reacts with minute dust particles in the air, to deposit on the ground and thus control air pollution. The ashes are soil-friendly.
[0093] Thus, fresh life to the fireworks The industry provides employment opportunities for 8 lakh people directly and indirectly, because most states impose bans on the Use of crackers.
[0094] (5) Smooth burning of a Sugandha Pyrotechnic cracker.
[0095] (6) Additional demand for spices and herbs helps the farmers and
[0096] to generate new employment opportunities.
[0097] (7) Shell life is 12 Monthsfsubject to the quality of the chemical used)
[0098] Mechanism of Burning:
[0099] The Suganda Powder has a combustion temperature around 220 degrees C, whereas, in the Fireworks, the Pyrotechnic chemical combustion, the temperature is above 600 degrees C. When a Sugandha Pyrotechnic cracker is ignited, a chemical particle starts burning at a high temperature, and the adjacent particle of Sugandha powder starts combustion and undergoes further reactions like Pyrolysis, rearrangement of molecules, and finally, combustion of rearranged molecules. These reactions release water vapour, CO2, and volatile matter compounds, simultaneously absorb / neutralise / scavenge H2S, SO2, and NO2 odour, and emits an odourless a pleasant smell and fragrance.
