AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing linear delivery members for brain tissue removal surgeries in epilepsy cases face challenges in achieving a small outer diameter while maintaining electrical connectivity and flexibility, especially when multiple electrodes are used, due to limitations in bundling multiple wire components.

Method used

A conductive linear delivery member with a layered structure comprising a core material, conductor layers, and insulating layers, designed to have an outer diameter of 0.6 mm or less, allowing electrical connection to multiple electrodes in blood vessels, with exposed conductor layers and specific thickness ratios to ensure conductivity and insulation reliability.

Benefits of technology

The solution enables accurate detection of brain tissue areas for removal by maintaining a small diameter, flexibility, and effective signal transmission, even in complex brain vessel environments, facilitating precise surgical interventions.

Abstract

The present invention provides a linear delivery member having an outer diameter of 0.6 mm or less, used by being electrically connected to an electrode in each of a plurality of blood vessels, and capable of transmitting an electric signal. A conductive linear delivery member 1 has one end portion electrically connected to each of a plurality of electrodes arranged and used in a blood vessel of a living organism to detect brain waves from outside the blood vessel, the linear delivery member 1 being configured to arrange the plurality of electrodes at predetermined positions in the blood vessel of the living organism. The linear delivery member 1 includes a layered part provided on an outer peripheral surface of a core material 11. The layered part includes a plurality of conductor layers 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and a plurality of insulating layers 31, 32, 33, 34, 35 respectively provided on outer peripheral surfaces of the plurality of conductor layers. The layered part is provided in a plurality of layers on the outer peripheral surface of a core material 12. A part of each of the plurality of conductor layers is exposed from the plurality of insulating layers because the part of each of the plurality of conductor layers is not covered with the plurality of insulating layers.
