Abstract
Description
[0001] DESCRIPTION
[0002] LIGHTING AND ACOUSTIC SYSTEM ON THE FRONT OF VEHICLES
[0003]
[0004] TECHNICAL SECTOR
[0005] This utility model application relates to a new type of pedestrian safety system for pedestrians in relation to heavy goods vehicles, consisting of a device that emits a visual and audible signal. Therefore, the invention falls within the technical field of the automotive industry, specifically the field of vehicle accessories such as headlights, signals, etc.
[0006] BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0007] A car's headlights and lights are essential components for road safety, as they allow the driver to see and be seen in varying lighting and weather conditions. Today, headlights using halogen bulbs, xenon headlights, and LED headlights are common. The main functions of these headlights and their locations on the vehicle are as follows:
[0008] Lights located only on the front of the vehicle:
[0009] ® Low Beam: used to illuminate the road in front of the vehicle without dazzling oncoming drivers.
[0010] High Beam: Provides a longer-range beam of light for better visibility on unlit roads. Use with caution to avoid dazzling other drivers.
[0011] • Daytime Running Lights: Lights that turn on automatically during the day to increase the vehicle's visibility.
[0012] Lights located at the front and rear of the vehicle:
[0013] ® Position Lights: Small lights that illuminate together with the headlights to indicate the position and dimensions of the vehicle.
[0014] • Fog Lights: Lights that emit a wide, flat beam of light to improve visibility in foggy, rainy, or snowy conditions.
[0015] ® Turn signals: Lights that flash to indicate the intention to turn or change lanes.
[0016] Side lights:
[0017] ® Side marker lights: Small yellow or white lights located on the sides of the vehicle, usually near the wheels or on the rearview mirrors, to indicate the presence and length of the vehicle, especially on long vehicles.
[0018] • Side indicators: Small indicators located on the sides of the vehicle, usually integrated into the rearview mirrors, to complement the signaling of the front and rear indicators.
[0019] Lights located at the rear of the vehicle:
[0020] • Brake Lights: These illuminate when the brake pedal is pressed to warn vehicles behind of the deceleration.
[0021] • Reversing Light: It turns on when reverse gear is engaged to illuminate the rear area of the vehicle.
[0022] • License plate light: Illuminates the rear license plate so that it is visible in the dark.
[0023] As described, the brake light is currently only used at the rear of the vehicle to warn vehicles behind of deceleration. To enhance road safety, the present invention is developed, consisting of a new system comprising a device that serves as a front brake light and which may optionally include an audible warning.
[0024] EXPLANATION OF THE INVENTION
[0025] To achieve the aforementioned design objectives, the invention comprises a system consisting of a light device connected to the vehicle's brake pedal electrical circuit. This light device is located at the front of the vehicle so that it is easily visible to pedestrians, cyclists, traffic officers, and other drivers, either inside the vehicle under the windshield or on the exterior. Optionally, this device may include an audible signal to reinforce the warning for pedestrians. Both the light and audible signals are activated simultaneously with the traditional rear brake lights.
[0026] BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0027] To complement the description being made and in order to help a better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, a set of drawings is included as an integral part of said description, in which, for illustrative and non-limiting purposes, the following has been represented:
[0028] Figure 1.- Shows the acoustic light device located inside the vehicle under the windshield and connected to the brake light circuit.
[0029] Figure 2.- Shows the acoustic light device located on the front exterior of the vehicle and connected to the brake light circuit.
[0030] The following is a list of the various elements represented in the figures that comprise the invention:
[0031] 1 = Light device
[0032] 2 = Brake pedal electrical circuit
[0033] 3 = Location under the windshield.
[0034] 4 = Exterior front location.
[0035] PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
[0036] The invention consists of a system comprising a light device (1) that connects to the electrical circuit of the vehicle's brake pedal (2). This light device is located at the front of the vehicle, either internally below the windshield (3) or externally (4). Optionally, this light device (1) may include an audible signal to reinforce the warning signal for pedestrians. Both the light and audible signals activate simultaneously with the traditional rear brake lights.
