Description

[0001] DESCRIPTION

[0002] TITLE OF THE INVENTION: MOTOR VEHICLE COMPRISING A DASHBOARD INCLUDING A TRANSPARENT SCREEN AND AN OCCULTING MASK CAPABLE OF TWO CONFIGURATIONS

[0003]

[0001] The present invention claims priority from French application 2500547 filed on January 20, 2025, the content of which (text, drawings and claims) is incorporated herein by reference.

[0004]

[0002] The invention relates to dashboard screens enabling the display of information relating to a motor vehicle or its driving, and in particular to means ensuring the good visibility of this information.

[0005]

[0003] Prior art patent application EP3083315, which describes a display device for a motor vehicle, is known. The display device comprises a housing and a display screen. The housing has a front panel made of a transparent plate, so that the driver can see the information displayed on the display screen through the transparent plate. The display device includes a touchpad positioned between the display screen and the transparent plate. The display device includes a first opaque mask positioned between the touchpad and the display screen. The role of the first opaque mask is to partially obscure a lateral portion of the display screen. The display device also includes a second mask positioned in front of the touchpad, so as to obscure a lateral portion of the touchpad positioned in front of the first mask.The first mask extends towards the center of the screen, beyond the second mask. However, a drawback remains. The first and second masks serve to at least partially obscure the information displayed on the screen, which can be detrimental if the information is, for example, a warning signal indicating a problem with the vehicle. Furthermore, the overlapping of the display screen, touchpad, transparent panel, first mask, and second mask significantly increases the overall weight of the vehicle.

[0006]

[0004] The objective of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks and ensure good visibility of the information displayed while reducing the overall mass of the motor vehicle.

[0007]

[0005] To achieve this objective, the invention proposes a motor vehicle comprising a front running gear and a rear running gear whose points of contact with the ground define a base plane defined by a first longitudinal direction corresponding to straight-line driving, by a second transverse direction orthogonal to the first longitudinal direction and a third vertical direction orthogonal to the first and second directions and oriented away from the ground, said vehicle comprising a front windshield and a dashboard, said dashboard comprising a transparent screen capable of displaying information, the transparent screen being positioned behind the front windshield along the first direction, notable in that said dashboard comprises a blackout mask, said blackout mask being capable of having two configurations:

[0008] - a first configuration in which the blackout mask is rolled around an axis positioned in said dashboard in the second direction;

[0009] - a second configuration in which the blackout mask is partially or fully unrolled so that said blackout mask, said unrolled part being substantially parallel to the transparent screen.

[0010]

[0006] Thanks to the invention, the driver can easily adjust the position of the blackout mask to ensure good visibility of the information emitted by the transparent screen.

[0011]

[0007] Advantageously, said blackout mask includes a tab, said tab being positioned on top of said blackout mask in the third direction.

[0012]

[0008] The presence of a tab facilitates the handling of the blackout mask by the driver when changing its configuration.

[0009] Advantageously, said transparent screen has guides positioned on either side of said transparent screen in the second direction, the guides being configured to guide said blackout mask when changing from the first configuration to the second configuration or from the second configuration to the first configuration.

[0013]

[0010] This promotes the correct positioning of the blackout mask against the transparent screen.

[0014]

[0011] Preferably, the blackout mask has a rectangular shape.

[0015]

[0012] Such a shape is particularly suitable for facilitating the positioning of the blackout mask during its deployment, especially when said transparent screen has guides.

[0016]

[0013] Advantageously, the guides comprise a transparent material.

[0017]

[0014] Thus, when the blackout mask is fully rolled up, the guides do not interfere with the visibility of the information emitted by the transparent screen.

[0018]

[0015] Preferably, the blackout mask has a width between 10 cm and 30 cm.

[0019]

[0016] Such dimensions facilitate the arrangement of the blackout mask on said transparent screen.

[0020]

[0017] Preferably, the blackout mask has a height between 5 cm and 15 cm.

[0021]

[0018] Such a height makes it possible to cover said transparent screen adequately without hindering the driver's visibility on the road.

[0022]

[0019] Advantageously, the blackout mask comprises a polymer material.

[0023]

[0020] Preferably, the polymer material is chosen from polyester, rubber or a combination of polyester and rubber.

[0024]

[0021] Such materials are resistant to ultraviolet rays emitted by the sun, which improves their lifespan, while being sufficiently opaque to ensure good visibility of the information emitted by the transparent screen.

[0025]

[0022] The invention will be further detailed by the description of non-limiting embodiments, and on the basis of the attached figures illustrating variants of the invention, in which: - [Fig.1] schematically illustrates, in a side view, a dashboard of a motor vehicle comprising an occulting mask having a first configuration according to an embodiment of the invention;

[0026] - [Fig.2] schematically illustrates, in a side view, the dashboard illustrated in figure 1 including the blackout mask presenting a second configuration;

[0027] - [Fig.3] schematically illustrates, in a front view, the dashboard shown in figures 1 and 2 including the blackout mask showing the second configuration;

[0028] - [Fig.4] schematically illustrates, in a top view, the dashboard shown in figures 1 to 3 including the blackout mask.

[0029]

[0023] Figure 1 schematically illustrates, in a side view, a dashboard 2 of a motor vehicle 100. The vehicle 100 comprises a front axle and a rear axle whose points of contact with the ground define a basic plane XY defined by a first longitudinal direction X corresponding to straight-line driving, a second transverse direction Y orthogonal to the first longitudinal direction X, and a third vertical direction Z orthogonal to the first direction X and the second direction Y and oriented away from the ground. The vehicle 100 further comprises a front windshield 1. The dashboard 2 includes a transparent screen 3 capable of displaying information. The transparent screen 3 has the appearance of a transparent glass plate.The transparent screen 3 allows the display of information, or an image, visible on both sides of said transparent screen 3, with light emitted forwards and backwards along the first direction X. The transparent screen 3 is positioned behind said windshield 1 along the first direction X. The dashboard 2 includes a blackout mask 4. The mask is called blackout because it prevents sunlight from passing through said transparent screen 3 via said windshield 1. If sunlight passes through said transparent screen 3, it affects the visibility of the information displayed by said transparent screen 3, which is problematic, or even dangerous, if said information is an alert, for example.As for the light emitted by the transparent screen 3, it may cause a reflection on the windshield 1, which could be distracting for the driver while driving the vehicle 100. The blackout mask 4 is relatively flexible, allowing it to be rolled up and unrolled. In fact, the blackout mask 4 is capable of two configurations: a first configuration and a second configuration. The first configuration is characterized by a position in which the blackout mask 4 is rolled up within the dashboard 2, around an axis A, along the second direction Y. Figure 3 schematically represents the blackout mask 4 in the second configuration. The blackout mask 4 is partially unrolled so that it covers approximately half of the transparent screen 3. The remainder of the blackout mask 4 is rolled up around the axis A.The blackout mask 4 preferably has a rectangular shape as illustrated in Figure 3. However, a rounded shape, in particular a rounded upper edge, is also possible. The blackout mask 4 preferably has a width between 10 cm and 30 cm. Optionally, the height of the blackout mask 4 is between 5 cm and 15 cm. Such dimensions allow for adequate coverage of the information displayed by most transparent screens as known in the prior art. Preferably, as illustrated in Figure 3, the blackout mask 4 includes a tab 5 to allow the driver to easily grasp the blackout mask 4 in order to change its configuration. The driver grasps the tab 5 when sunlight obscures the information displayed by the transparent screen 3.The tab 5 is positioned on top of the blackout mask 4 in the third direction, to further facilitate its operation by the driver. The second configuration is characterized by a position in which the blackout mask 4 is partially or fully extended so that an extended portion is outside the dashboard 2. The blackout mask 4 in this second configuration is shown in Figure 2. The extended portion is substantially parallel to the transparent screen 3. Optionally, the transparent screen 3 has guides 6 positioned on either side of it to guide the blackout mask 4. The guides 6 are illustrated in Figures 3 and 4. Thus, the blackout mask 4 slides between the guides 6, preventing incorrect positioning that would allow sunlight or light emitted by the transparent screen 3 itself to pass through.Preferably, the guides 6 are made of a transparent material. Optionally, the blackout mask 4 is made of a polymer material, preferably polyester, rubber, or a combination of polyester and rubber. Polyester fibers and rubber are highly opaque but also resistant to ultraviolet rays from the sun. Thus, light from outside passing through the windshield 1 does not reach the transparent screen 3.
