[0001] The present invention relates to an operating device, an imaging device, and an operating method of an operating device.
[0002] Patent Documents 1 and 2 describe sequentially switching selected items using a dial among a plurality of items displayed on a display.
[0003] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2008-234628 Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2017-130900
[0004] In Patent Documents 1 and 2, a plurality of items are listed on a display, and when switching the item selected by a dial, the position of a frame indicating the selection moves to the position of the item selected by the switching. Therefore, in addition to the need to visually follow the position of the frame during selection, since items other than the selected item are also displayed on the display, the item name of the selected item is buried among the item names of other items, making it difficult to intuitively grasp which item is selected. Therefore, it has been desired to enable an intuitive switching operation of an item to be selected from a plurality of items.
[0005] An object of the present invention is to provide an operating device, an imaging device, and an operating method of an operating device that can perform an intuitive switching operation of an item to be selected from a plurality of items.
[0006] The operating device of the present invention is installed on a surface in a first direction and includes a plurality of switching members for sequentially switching items to be selected among a plurality of items, and a display unit including a first item name display area that protrudes in a second direction intersecting the first direction from the position where the switching members are installed and displays the item name of the item selected by the switching each time the item is switched by the switching member.
[0007] The position of the first item name display area is preferably maintained regardless of the switching of items by the switching member. The display unit includes a second item name display area that displays item display units that display part or all of the item name, spaced apart from each other in the first direction, and it is preferable that part or all of the item name displayed by the item display units is replaced by switching items by the switching member. The display unit is preferably displayed in the second direction in the order of the position where the switching member is installed, the item display unit corresponding to the selected item, and the first item name display area. The switching member is a dial, and it is preferable that the first item name display area is displayed on the rotation axis of the dial.
[0008] The present invention relates to an imaging apparatus equipped with the operating device of the present invention as described above, wherein in the display unit, the first item name display area is superimposed on the through image.
[0009] The present invention relates to an imaging apparatus equipped with the above-described operating device, wherein the display unit changes the display mode of the through image when displaying the first item name display area. It is preferable to display the first item name display area and the through image display area separately. It is preferable that the through image display area is enlarged or reduced in order to maintain the aspect ratio of the image when the through image is output.
[0010] The present invention relates to an operating device comprising a plurality of switching members and a display unit, and includes the steps of sequentially switching the selected item from a plurality of items using a switching member installed on a surface in a first direction, and displaying the item name of the item selected by the switching in a first item name display area included in the display unit and projecting in a second direction intersecting the first direction from the position where the switching member is installed, each time an item is switched by the switching member.
[0011] According to the present invention, the operation of switching between items to be selected from among multiple items can be performed intuitively.

This is a perspective view of the imaging device. This is an image of the display unit showing the first item name display area superimposed on the through image. This is an image of the display unit showing the first item name display area and the through image display area separately. This is an image of the display unit showing the first item name display area displayed from the respective installation positions of the two dials. This is a schematic diagram of the handle on which the operating device is mounted.
[0013] As shown in Figure 1, the operating device 10 is used for various operations such as selecting items. The operating device 10 comprises a horizontally elongated, roughly rectangular main body 11, two dials 12 and 13 (switching members) provided on the vertical sides of the main body 11, and a display unit 15 provided on the back of the main body 11. The dials 12 and 13 are on the vertical sides, and a portion of each protrudes from the back. Note that there are not limited to two dials; three or more may be provided.
[0014] The dial 12 is installed on the vertical (first direction) surface and is used to sequentially switch between multiple items. The item selected by the dial 12 is confirmed by operating the selection confirmation operation unit (not shown) provided on the main body 11. In the following description, the dial 12 will be explained, but the dial 13 is the same as the dial 12. In this embodiment, the items are switched using the rotary dial 12, but any switching member that can sequentially switch items may be used instead of the dial 12. For example, a button-type switch that switches by pressing a button may be used.
[0015] As shown in Figures 2(A) and 2(B), the display unit 15 is displayed protruding laterally (second direction) from the position where the dial 12 is installed, and includes a first item name display area 20 that displays the name of the item selected by the dial 12 each time an item is switched. Preferably, the position of the first item name display area 20 is maintained regardless of the item switching by the dial 12. Preferably, the first item name display area 20 is displayed on the rotation axis AX of the dial 12.
[0016] Specifically, as shown in Figure 2(A), when the item names ABC of the selected item A are displayed in the first item name display area 20, rotating the dial 12 switches the selected item from item A to item B. As a result, as shown in Figure 2(B), the item names BCD of item B, which were selected by the dial 12, are displayed in the first item name display area 20. The first item name display area 20 remains displayed on the rotation axis AX of the dial 12 and maintains its position even when switching from item A to item B.
[0017] As shown in Figures 3(A) and 3(B), the display unit 15 includes a second item name display area 25 in which item display units 25a that display part or all of the item name are displayed vertically spaced apart from each other. The display unit 15 also displays horizontally in the order of the position where the dial 12 is installed, the item display unit 25a corresponding to the selected item, and the first item display unit 23. It is preferable that the spacing between the five item display units 25a is constant.
[0018] Specifically, as shown in Figure 3(A), in the second item name display area 25, five item display sections 25a are provided at regular intervals, and A, B, C, D, and E, which are parts of the item names of items A, B, C, D, and E, are displayed in each section. When the item name BCD of the selected item B is displayed in the first item name display area 20, rotating the dial 12 switches the selected item from item B to item C. As a result, as shown in Figure 3(B), A, representing item A, is hidden from the item display section 25a, and instead, B, C, D, and E, representing items B, C, D, and E, are sequentially switched to the display in the item display section 25a above. In addition, F, which is part of the item name of the new item F, is displayed in the bottommost item display section 25a. Furthermore, on the rotation axis AX of the dial 12, an item display section 25a displaying C, representing the selected item C, and the first item name display area 20 displaying the item name CDF of item C are displayed.
[0019] The operating device 10 described above can be mounted on various electronic devices. For example, as shown in Figure 4, the operating device 10 may be mounted on an imaging device 30. The imaging device 30 equipped with the operating device 10 includes an imaging unit 32 having an optical system, and displays the through image obtained by the imaging unit 32 on the display unit 15. The imaging device 30 is provided with a shutter switch (not shown), and by operating the shutter switch, the image obtained at that time is saved.
[0020] In the imaging device 30 equipped with the operating device 10, the imaging settings or image processing settings can be switched and selected using the dials 12 and 13. For example, as shown in Figure 5, when switching the selected item from imaging settings A, B, C, D, and E using the dial 12, the item name BDC of the selected item B is displayed in the first item name display area 20. The imaging settings include, for example, focal length, focus position, aperture (f-number), depth of field, shutter speed, ISO sensitivity, and the lens device used (telephoto lens, focus lens). The image processing settings include, for example, white balance, brightness adjustment, contrast adjustment, digital gain processing, and color tone adjustment.
[0021] As shown in Figure 5, it is preferable to superimpose the first item name display area 20 onto the through image 35. In this case, it is preferable to make the first item name display area 20 semi-transparent when superimposed. On the other hand, in order to avoid the display of the first item name display area 20 interfering with the display of the through image, it is preferable to change the display mode of the through image when displaying the first item name display area 20. Specifically, as shown in Figure 6, it is preferable to display the first item name display area 20 and the through image display area 36 separately. In this case, it is preferable to enlarge or reduce the through image display area 36 so as to maintain the aspect ratio of the image when the through image is output. For example, if the vertical:horizontal ratio is 4:3, the through image display area 36 is reduced so that the vertical:horizontal ratio is 4:3 and it does not overlap with the first item name display area 20. This allows the through image to be viewed as it would appear when printed out.
[0022] Next, the sequence of steps of the present invention will be explained below. The dial 12 provided on the vertical side of the main body 11 sequentially switches between items selected from a plurality of items. The display unit 15 displays a first item name display area 20 that protrudes horizontally from the position where the dial 12 is installed. In the first item name display area 20, the name of the item selected by the switch is displayed each time an item is switched using the dial 12.
[0023] In the above embodiment, as shown in Figure 7, the first item name display area 20 may be displayed from the dial 12 side, and the first item name display area 24 displaying the item name XYZ of another item X may be displayed from the dial 13 side on the opposite side. Furthermore, in the present invention, for example, as shown in Figure 8, the operating device 10 may be mounted on the horn portion in the center of the steering wheel 40 of a car. In the above embodiment, a sensor for detecting the horizontal direction (lateral direction) is provided, and when the lateral direction is detected, the first item name display areas 20 and 24 are displayed by protruding from the dials 12 and 13. On the other hand, when the vertical direction is detected, instead of displaying the first item name display areas 20 and 24 from the dials 12 and 13, the first item name display area may be displayed by protruding from two operating members (neither of which are shown) provided on the upper and lower surfaces of the main body 11.
