AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing electronic devices struggle to efficiently manage and adjust the display screen size when switching between terrestrial and non-terrestrial network connections, leading to suboptimal user interface performance and communication functionality.

Method used

The electronic device is equipped with a communication circuit and display that can identify the availability of terrestrial and non-terrestrial network connections, activate the appropriate communication function, and dynamically adjust the size of a secondary execution screen to be superimposed on the primary screen based on the quality of the NTN connection, ensuring optimal communication.

Benefits of technology

This solution enables seamless communication through non-terrestrial networks by adjusting the display screen size to maintain effective user interface performance and improve signal quality, enhancing user experience and connectivity.

Abstract

The present disclosure relates to an electronic device and method for adjusting the size of an execution screen on the basis of the state of a non-terrestrial network (NTN) connection. The electronic device is characterized by: on the basis of identifying that a first communication function performed via a terrestrial network (TN) connection is unavailable, displaying a UI object for activating a second communication function performed via the NTN connection within a first execution screen; activating the second communication function on the basis of an input to the UI object; displaying a second execution screen of a first size for assisting the NTN connection, the second execution screen being displayed so as to be overlapped on the first execution screen; and reducing the size of the second execution screen from the first size to a second size on the basis of establishing the NTN connection.
