AI Technical Summary
Existing manicure nippers face issues with disassembly for maintenance and reassembly accuracy due to non-detachable hinges, and detachable hinges fail to maintain lever alignment during prolonged use, leading to operational backlash.
The design incorporates a cylindrical protrusion on one lever and a matching hole on the other, with a conical pad between the fastener and supporting surface, ensuring precise alignment and preventing hinge unwinding during use.
Ensures accurate assembly and disassembly of manicure nippers, maintaining smooth lever operation over time without backlash.

Abstract
Description
[0001] MANICURE NIPPERS
[0002] Field of the invention
[0003] The invention relates to manicure or pedicure accessories, in particular, to devices for trimming and paring nails or cutting the cuticle.
[0004] Background of the invention
[0005] Standard nail nippers have two two-arm levers that are hingedly connected to each other to form a short arm and a long arm. The short arm of each lever is made with a cutting edge. The long arm of each lever forms a handle for working with nippers using hand. Typically, the levers are connected using a rivet (non-detachable hinge) or a screw (detachable hinge). For nippers with a non-detachable hinge connection, there is a problem of disassembling them for maintenance, for nippers with a detachable hinge connection, there is a problem of centering the levers relative to each other during their reassembly.
[0006] Manicure nippers which are known from the prior art, contain two two-arm levers, each having a flat surface on the inner side for hinging the levers to each other by means of a fastening part with a head and a stem (patent KR20160004238 (U), published on 12.12.2016 and adopted as a prototype). The centering of the levers against each other is carried out only by means of the fastening part and may be disturbed during long-term operation. This circumstance also prevents the ability to conveniently disassemble the product for maintenance and subsequently assemble it preserving its operability.
[0007] Summary of the invention
[0008] The invention is based on the task of ensuring the centering of the two-armed levers of the nippers relative to each other both during the disassembly of the nippers for maintenance and their subsequent assembly, and during the operation of the product. An additional task is to adjust the smoothness of the levers and maintaintheir accuracy during long-term operation of the nippers (assuring the absence of a backlash between the levers, etc.), which is important for this type of product.
[0009] The task is solved by improving the known design of nail nippers, which contain two two-arm levers, each of them having a flat surface on the inner side for hinging the levers to each other using a fastener with a head and a stem. According to the present invention, the flat surface of one of the levers comprises at the hinge joint a cylindrical protrusion with an inner hole for the stem of the fastening part, wherein the diameter D of the cylindrical protrusion is smaller than the diameter d of the head of the fastener, and the other lever has an opening on the side of the flat surface, the diameter of which coincides with the diameter of the cylindrical protrusion.
[0010] According to one embodiment of the nail nippers, a screw with a conical lower surface of the head is used as a fastening part. In this embodiment, the end surface of the cylindrical protrusion can be made as a reverse cone with an inclination towards the inner opening. Moreover, the hole on the side of the flat surface is connected to the hole made on the side of the outer surface of the lever, the diameter D₂ of which is larger than the diameter D of the cylindrical protrusion, but not less than the diameter d of the head of the fastening part. Where the surface of the connection of both holes is made conical with the same inclination as the end surface of the cylindrical protrusion, with the formation together with the end surface of the cylindrical protrusion of the support surface for the lower surface of the head of the fastening part. Also, a conical pad is located between the lower surface of the head of the fastening part and the supporting surface.
[0011] The presence of a cylindrical protrusion on the flat surface of one of the levers and a corresponding hole for this protrusion ensures centering on this protrusion using a fastening part (screw). Whereas the use of a conical pad between the lower surface of the head of the fastening part and the supporting surface ensures that the hinge joint does not unwind during the operation of the nippers.List of Drawings

[0020] The example given and the images used for this purpose do not limit other possible embodiments of the invention, but only explain its essence and confirm the possibility of implementation.
[0021] Exemplary embodiment of the invention
[0022] Figure 1 shows the nail nippers according to the invention, which comprise two two-arm levers (1), (2). Each of the levers (1), (2) has a flat surface (3) on the inner side for hinging the levers (1), (2) to each other by means of a fastening part (4). The fastening part (4) assumes the presence of a head (5) and a stem (6). The flat surface (3) of one of the levers (1) comprises a cylindrical protrusion (7) with an inner hole (8) for the stem (6) of the fastening part (4) at the hinge joint. The diameter D of the cylindrical protrusion (7) is smaller than the diameter d of the head (5) of the fastening part (4). The other lever (2) has an opening (9) on the side of the flatsurface (3), the diameter D1 of which coincides with the diameter D of the cylindrical protrusion (7).
[0023] A screw with a conical lower surface (10) of the head (5) is used as the fastening part (4). Such a screw can have a variety of head shapes (spherical, flat, concave), a variety of diameter of the threaded part of the stem, for example, from M2 to M10, as well as a thread pitch from 0.1 mm to 1.5 mm.
[0024] The end surface (11) of the cylindrical protrusion (7) is made as a reverse cone with an inclination towards the inner hole (8). The hole (9) on the side of the flat surface (3) is connected to the hole (12) made on the side of the outer surface (13) of the lever (2). The diameter D₂ of the opening (12) is larger than the diameter D of the cylindrical protrusion (7), but not less than the diameter d of the head (5) of the fastener (4). The connection surface (14) of both holes (9), (12) is made conical with the same inclination as the end surface (11) of the cylindrical protrusion (7). The connection surface (14) together with the end surface (11) of the cylindrical protrusion (7) form the supporting surface (15) for the lower surface (10) of the head (5) of the fastening part (4). A conical pad (16) is located between the lower surface (10) of the head (5) of the fastening part (4) and the support surface (15).
[0025] The components of the nippers according to the invention (double-arm levers) are usually cut from bar blanks, they are subject to further processing, for example, bending, forging, grinding, drilling an axle hole (hinge), hardening, polishing, grinding, sharpening, etc., according to the knowledge of a typical person skilled in the art. In the case of the use of different materials, for example, plastic or rubber pads or parts of levers, such pads or parts are made by methods known in the relevant fields. All the necessary parts of the nippers are further assembled using the hinged joint described above.
[0026] Nippers according to the invention can be used as cuticle nippers for manicure; they can also be used for pedicure. In addition to working with the cuticle, such nippers can also be used to work with nails. A person skilled in the art will know for which manicure process the nippers according to the invention may be used.
[0027] When working with these nippers, the employee takes the nippers in the palm so that the fingers cover the long arm of the levers as a handle. The nippers according to the invention can be made in different sizes for users with different hand lengths. Those skilled in the art are in a position to determine for themselves what length of nippers are acceptable for different hand shapes and / or sizes. Nippers can also be made for both right-handed and left-handed, for this, the cutting edge is provided on the other side, so that the cutting site is visible when holding the nippers in the left hand.
[0028] Thus, the invention makes it possible to create a design of manicure nippers, which ensures the centering of the two-armed levers of the nippers relative to each other both during the disassembly of the nippers for maintenance and their subsequent assembly, and during the operation of the product, and also allows to adjust the smoothness of the levers and maintain the accuracy of their movement during prolonged operation of the nippers.
