Abstract

A system for extraction of samples from a tube containing a density gradient. The system includes a base, a stop on the base for positioning the tube, and a support extending from the base. One or more tube holders are mounted on the support. The one or more tube holders restrict movement of the tube when the tube rests on the stop. An arm mounted to the base is slidable in a first direction along a sliding axis toward the tube when the tube rests on the stop. One or more syringe holders are mounted on the arm. Each of the one or more syringe holders is configured to secure a syringe assembly to the arm such that a needle of the syringe assembly pierces the tube when the arm slides in the first direction toward the tube.
