Abstract

A ballistically stable projectile for launching out of a barrel of a launcher. The projectile has a front portion having a first end and a second end, a rear portion having a rear sidewall member, a first end and a second end, and a middle portion between the second end of the front portion and the first end of the rear portion. The middle portion has a generally cylindrical middle sidewall and a middle cavity interior of the middle sidewall. The middle sidewall is fracturable upon impact of the projectile with a target. A payload is retained within the middle cavity and the payload escapes from the middle cavity upon fracturing of the middle sidewall.
