Abstract

The invention relates to a drawer (1) comprising two frames (2), at least one drawer wall (3) connecting the two frames (2), and at least one insert element (4) provided between the two frames (2), wherein the insert element (4) forms at least part of a drawer base (5), the at least one insert element (4) has at least one support portion (6), and the at least one support portion (6) rests on an upper face (3a) of the at least one drawer wall (3) in order to hold the at least one insert element (4) between the frames (2).

[0002] The invention relates to a drawer comprising two sides, at least one drawer wall connecting the two sides and at least one insert element arranged between the two sides, wherein the insert element forms at least part of a drawer bottom, wherein the at least one insert element has at least one support section, and to a piece of furniture with at least one such drawer.

[0003] Conventional drawers consist of a flat drawer bottom on which various objects can be placed and thus stored. For aesthetic reasons, especially in kitchens, it is desirable to have drawers with a low height, for example, 100 mm. To achieve such low heights, the drawer bottom is usually raised, and drawer slides are installed underneath it. This reduces the usable height inside the drawer, making it difficult or impossible to store large objects such as ladles.

[0004] WO 2014 / 198405 proposes a solution to this problem: an insert element that is positioned in a recess in the drawer base. This insert element has two support sections that rest against the drawer base and extends downwards beyond the drawer base, thus providing greater usable drawer height in the area of ​​the insert element. This allows even larger objects to be stored in such a shallow drawer.

[0005] However, the current state of the art has some disadvantages. For example, the usable depth of the insert is limited due to the support sections located there. This means that long and larger objects cannot be stored in such an insert, as the usable height in the area of ​​the support sections is even less than in the area of ​​the drawer bottom.

[0006] Furthermore, the manufacturing and material costs for such a drawer are high: A conventional drawer base must be provided, into which a recess for the insert element must then be added. The insert element itself must also be manufactured. This is particularly significant when drawers are to be produced in large quantities.

[0007] The object of the invention is to at least partially overcome the disadvantages described above and to provide a drawer system that is improved compared to the prior art. Furthermore, a piece of furniture incorporating such a drawer system is also to be provided.

Claims

Patent claims 1. Drawer (1) comprising two drawer sides (2), at least one drawer wall (3) connecting the two drawer sides (2), and at least one insert element (4) arranged between the two drawer sides (2), wherein the insert element (4) forms at least part of a drawer bottom (5), wherein the at least one insert element (4) has at least one support section (6), characterized in that the at least one support section (6) rests on a top surface (3a) of the at least one drawer wall (3) to hold the at least one insert element (4) between the drawer sides (2).
