[0096] Principles and implementations of the present disclosure will be described in detail below with reference to the figures.

[0097] FIG. 1 illustrates a schematic diagram of an example communication environment 100 in which example embodiments of the present disclosure can be implemented. In the communication environment 100, a plurality of communication devices, including a terminal device 110 and a network device 120, can communicate with each other. It should be understood that, in the other embodiments, the terminal device 110 / network device 120 may be replaced with any of: a terminal device, a network device, an OTT (over the top, a server) , an operation administration and maintenance (OAM) (server) , an edge cloud (server) , a neutral site, transmission reception point (TRP) , or core network (CN, such as, location management function, LMF) and so on. In present disclosure is not limited in this regard.

[0098] In the example of FIG. 1, a direction from the terminal device 110 to the network device 120 is referred to as uplink, while a direction from the network device 120 to the terminal device 110 is referred to as a downlink. In downlink, the network device 120 is a transmitting (TX) device (or a transmitter) and the terminal device 110 is a receiving (RX) device (or a receiver) , and the network device 120 may transmit downlink transmission to the terminal device 110. Correspondingly, in uplink, the network device 120 is an RX device (or a receiver) and the terminal device 110 is a TX device (or a transmitter) , and the terminal device 110 may transmit uplink transmission to the network device 120.

[0099] Further, in FIG. 1, one or more ML models may be deployed at the terminal device 110 and / or the network device 120.

[0100] It is to be understood that the number of devices and their connections shown in FIG. 1 are only for the purpose of illustration without suggesting any limitation. The communication environment 100 may include any suitable number of devices configured to implementing example embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0101] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 and the network device 120 may communicate with each other via a channel such as a wireless communication channel on an air interface (e.g., Uu interface) or a PC5 interface. The wireless communication channel may comprise a sidelink, a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) , a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) , a physical random-access channel (PRACH) , a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) , a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) and a physical broadcast channel (PBCH) . Of course, any other suitable channels are also feasible.

[0102] The communications in the communication environment 100 may conform to any suitable standards including, but not limited to, Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) , Long Term Evolution (LTE) , LTE-Evolution, LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) , New Radio (NR) , Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) , Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) , GSM EDGE Radio Access Network (GERAN) , Machine Type Communication (MTC) and the like. The embodiments of the present disclosure may be performed according to any generation communication protocols either currently known or to be developed in the future. Examples of the communication protocols include, but not limited to, the first generation (1G) , the second generation (2G) , 2.5G, 2.75G, the third generation (3G) , the fourth generation (4G) , 4.5G, the fifth generation (5G) communication protocols, 5.5G, 5G-Advanced networks, or the sixth generation (6G) networks.

[0103] Reference is now made to FIG. 2A and FIG. 2B, which illustrates a signaling flows 200A and 200B for communication in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purposes of discussion, the signaling flows 200A and 200B will be discussed with reference to FIG. 1, for example, by using the terminal device 110 and the network device 120.

[0104] In the following descriptions, while operations are depicted in a particular order, this should not be understood as requiring that such operations be performed in the particular order shown or in sequential order, or that all illustrated operations be performed, to achieve desirable results. In certain circumstances, multitasking and parallel processing may be advantageous. Likewise, while several specific implementation details are contained in the above discussions, these should not be construed as limitations on the scope of the present disclosure, but rather as descriptions of features that may be specific to particular embodiments. Certain features that are described in the context of separate embodiments may also be implemented in combination in a single embodiment. Conversely, various features that are described in the context of a single embodiment may also be implemented in multiple embodiments separately or in any suitable sub-combination.

[0105] It is to be understood that the operations at the terminal device 110 and the network device 120 should be coordinated. In other words, the network device 120 and the terminal device 110 should have common understanding about configurations, parameters and so on. Such common understanding may be implemented by any suitable interactions between the network device 120 and the terminal device 110 or both the network device 120 and the terminal device 110 applying the same rule / policy. In the following, although some operations are described from a perspective of the terminal device 110, it is to be understood that the corresponding operations should be performed by the network device 120. Similarly, although some operations are described from a perspective of the network device 120, it is to be understood that the corresponding operations should be performed by the terminal device 110. Merely for brevity, some of the same or similar contents are omitted here.

[0106] Reference is made to FIG. 2A first. In operation, the network device 120 transmits (205-1) at least one configuration to the terminal device 110, and the terminal device 110 receives (205-2) at least one configuration accordingly. The at least one configuration comprises: a first report configured with a first report quantity and a second report configured with a second report quantity different from the first report quantity, where the second report is associated with the first report.

[0107] In some embodiments, the first report quantity may comprise prediction information and the second quantity may comprise at least one performance metric. As one example, the first report may be configured for model inference, and the second report may be configured for performance monitoring.

[0108] In some embodiments, the second report may be a network configured reporting or an event-triggered reporting. In some embodiments, the second report may be a periodic report or a semi-persistent report. Alternatively, in some embodiments, the second report may be an aperiodic report. In some embodiments, the type of the second figuration is the same as the type of the first report. For example, in a case that the first report is a periodic / semi-persistent / aperiodic report, the second report may be configured to be periodic / semi-persistent / aperiodic report accordingly.

[0109] In some cases, the network device 120 transmits (210-1) a first command for stopping the first report to the terminal device 110, and the terminal device 110 receives (210-2) the first command accordingly. As discussed above, the second report is associated with the first report. In this event, when the first report is stopped, the processes related to the second report may be infected. According to some embodiments of the present disclosure, the following processes related to the second report will be well handled.

[0110] In some embodiments, in response to the first command, the terminal device 110 may skip (also may be referred to as omit, ignore) at least one second monitoring instance or at least one second set of monitoring instances that is after receiving the first command. In some operations, skipping monitoring instance may refer to one of the following: the monitoring instance is not available, the calculation of the performance metric is not based on the monitoring instance.

[0111] In some embodiments, in response to the first command, the terminal device 110 may stop measurement and reporting associated with the second report after receiving the first command. For example, if a second report has been triggered / initiated, the terminal device 110 may terminate / stop the triggered / initiated processing. Further, when the second report is a periodic / semi-persistent report, all the following processing will be terminated / stopped. As a result, unnecessary power / signaling consumption will be avoided.

[0112] Alternatively, in some embodiments, in response to the first command, the terminal device 110 also may determine a performance metric based on at least part of at least one first monitoring instance or at least one first set of monitoring instances that is before receiving the first command. In other words, the terminal device 110 may maximize the utilization of the current obtained results.

[0113] In some embodiments, the performance metric may be determined per monitoring instance, per set of monitoring instances, or per monitoring window.

[0114] In some embodiments, the terminal device 119 may transmit (215-1) at least one measurement report to the network device 110, and the network device 120 may receive (215-2) the at least one measurement report accordingly.

[0115] In some embodiments, the at least one measurement report may comprise the performance metric. Alternatively, or in addition, in some embodiments, the at least one measurement report may comprise at least one of the following: a first number of monitoring instances of the at least one first monitoring instance, a second number of monitoring instances of the at least one second monitoring instance, an indication of whether the first number is larger than or equal to a first threshold, an indication of whether the second number is larger than or equal to a second threshold, a first duration within which the performance metric is obtained, or a second duration within which the at least one second monitoring instance is skipped.

[0116] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may be configured with a monitoring window (or a monitoring timer) associated with a set of monitoring instances. In this event, a bitwidth of a field indicating the first number or the second number may be associated with a number of monitoring instances comprised in the set of monitoring instances. Additionally, in some embodiments, the at least one measurement report may comprise an indication of whether the performance metric is determined based on all of the set of monitoring instances (or whether there is at least one monitoring instance which has been skipped) .

[0117] As discussed above, the second report may be an event-triggered reporting. In this event, the contents comprised in the at least one measurement report may be adjusted accordingly. Such example embodiments will be discussed below.

[0118] In some embodiments, the second report may be configured to be triggered in accordance with an event associated with the second report being fulfilled during a time duration, and evaluation of the event may be performed based on a performance metric that is determined per monitoring instance. In this event, the at least one measurement report may comprise at least one of the following: the determined performance metric, an indication that the event is not fulfilled during the time duration, a first number of monitoring instances of the at least one first monitoring instance, a second number of first monitoring instances that meet the event, a third number of first monitoring instances that do not meet the event, a fourth number of consecutive first monitoring instances that meet the event, a fifth number of consecutive first monitoring instances that do not meet the event, a sixth number of a last consecutive first monitoring instances that meet the event, or a seventh number of a last consecutive first monitoring instances that do not meet the event.

[0119] It should be noted that any number information discussed herein may be replaced by a duration that is because there is a correspondence between a duration and the monitoring instance (s) . Same clarification will not be repeated in the following.

[0120] In case of the event-triggered reporting, the reporting timing also may be re-defined. Specifically, in some other embodiments, the second report may be configured to be triggered in accordance with an event associated with the second report being fulfilled during a time duration, and evaluation of the event may be performed based on a performance metric that is determined per monitoring instance. In this event, in response to receiving the first command, the terminal device 110 may assume a timer associated with the time duration ( ‘the timer is associated with the time duration’ may mean that ‘the timer may be the time duration’ ) expires. As a result for the expiration, the at least measurement report may be transmitted. Alternatively, or in addition, in some embodiments, in response to receiving the first command, the terminal device 110 may stop the timer associated with the time duration, and / or restart the timer associated with the time duration.

[0121] In some other embodiments, the second report may be configured to be triggered in accordance with an event associated with the second report being fulfilled during for a time duration, and evaluation of the event may be performed based on a performance metric that is determined per set of monitoring instances or per monitoring window. In this event, the at least one measurement report may comprise the performance metric, comprising at least one of the following: a last calculated performance metric, a last calculated performance metric that meets the event, a statistical value of calculated performance metrics, or a statistical value of calculated performance metrics that meet the event.

[0122] Alternatively, or in addition, in some embodiments, the at least one measurement report may comprise at least one of the following: an indication that the event is not fulfilled during the time duration, a first number of calculated performance metrics, a second number of calculated performance metrics that meet the event, a third number of calculated performance metrics that do not meet the event, a fourth number of consecutive calculated performance metrics that meet the event, a fifth number of consecutive calculated performance metrics that do not meet the event, a sixth number of a last consecutive calculated performance metrics that meet the event, or a seventh number of a last consecutive calculated performance metrics that do not meet the event.

[0123] According to some embodiments of the present disclosure, whether to determine the performance metric and / or transmit the at least one measurement report may be based on current measurement results as discussed below.

[0124] In some embodiments, in accordance with a determination that there is no first monitoring instance or first set of monitoring instances, the terminal device 110 may stop measurement and reporting associated with the second report. Accordingly, in accordance with a determination that there is at least one first monitoring instance or at least one first set of monitoring instances, the terminal device 110 may transmit the at least one measurement report to the network device 120 (or determine the performance metric) .

[0125] In some embodiments, the second report may be configured to be triggered in accordance with an event associated with the second report being fulfilled during for a time duration, and evaluation of the event may be performed based on a performance metric that is determined per set of monitoring instances or per monitoring window. In this case, in accordance with a determination that the first command is received in the first monitoring window, the terminal device 110 may stop measurement and reporting associated with the second report. That is because no sufficient measurement results for determining a performance metric. Accordingly, in accordance with a determination that the first command is received outside the first monitoring window, the terminal device 110 may transmit the at least one measurement report to the network device 120 (determine the performance metric) .

[0126] As discussed above, the report quantity and / or the report timing discussed above is different from that of the legacy solution, and thus a more flexible configuring manner may be implemented. Specifically, in some embodiments, the second report may be associated with a first reporting-related configuration and a second reporting-related configuration. In this event, in accordance with receiving the first command, the terminal device 110 may apply the first reporting-related configuration. Accordingly, in accordance with not receiving the first command, the terminal device 110 may apply the second reporting-related configuration.

[0127] For better understanding about the above processes, more example embodiments will be discussed with reference to FIG. 3A to FIG. 5B.

[0128] In operation, as illustrated in FIG. 3A, UE may be configured by NW with a monitoring CSI report (i.e., the second report) , and the monitoring CSI report is configured for calculating and / or reporting a performance metric. The monitoring CSI report is associated with an inference CSI report (i.e., the first report) . The calculation (or determination) of the performance metric needs to be based on a monitoring window that may be associated with the monitoring CSI report. The monitoring window may be configured by NW, and it may be indicated by a time duration (unit: e.g., slot, sub-frame, frame, ms, s, min, hour) or a number of time instances, e.g., measurement time instances. The monitoring window comprises at least one monitoring instance (or sample) , and each monitoring instance may correspond to a transmission occasion of measurement RS resources or RS resource set associated with the monitoring CSI report. For the monitoring instance, UE would obtain measurement results based on the measurement RS resources or resource set associated with the monitoring CSI report, and (corresponding) inference results of the associated inference CSI report. UE would compare the measured results (i.e., ground-truth label) and the inference results, and obtain a comparison result. Based on (comparison results of) all monitoring instance in the monitoring window, UE would calculate the performance metric.

[0129] As shown in FIG. 3B, for a monitoring CSI report, if UE receives a signaling for stopping the inference CSI report associated with the monitoring CSI report within the monitoring window (e.g., from T0 to T1) , e.g., at T2, for a monitoring instance after the T2 (or between T2 and T1) , UE cannot obtain the inference results associated with the monitoring instance, and UE cannot determine the comparison results of the monitoring instance, thus UE may be unable to calculate or / and report the performance metric normally.

[0130] According to some embodiments of the present disclosure, for a monitoring CSI report, if UE receives a signaling (represented by ‘first command’ ) used for stopping the inference CSI report associated with the monitoring CSI report within a monitoring window (associated with the monitoring CSI report) , at least one of the following may be considered with reference to FIG. 3C.

[0131] In some embodiments, for the monitoring CSI report, UE may stop measurement after receiving the first command (i.e., after T2) . In some embodiments, for the monitoring CSI report, UE may still perform reporting, i.e., UE may still calculate and report the performance metric. Specifically, UE may calculate the performance metric based on the (collected) monitoring instances before receiving the first command (i.e., before T2) . In other words, UE may assume that the monitoring instances before T2 (or between T0 and T2) are available. In other words, UE may skip (or omit, ignore) monitoring instance (s) after receiving the first command (i.e., after T2) .

[0132] Furthermore, in some embodiments, considering the monitoring CSI report may be a periodic or semi-persistent report, for the monitoring CSI report, UE may stop the monitoring CSI report (i.e., stop measurement and reporting for the monitoring CSI report) after reporting the performance metric, e.g., UE may stop the monitoring CSI report after the last symbol of the PUCCH or PUSCH resource carrying the monitoring CSI report.

[0133] Furthermore, optionally, in addition to the performance metric, the monitoring CSI report may be configured for reporting at least one of the following information: information that indicates whether the reported performance metric is determined based on all monitoring instances of the monitoring window (i.e., the whole monitoring window) (Furthermore, the bitwidth of CSI field for this information may be 1 bit) ; Information that indicates the number of collected monitoring instances (or skipped monitoring instances) . In some embodiments, the bitwidth of CSI field for this information may be the total number of monitoring instances, e.g.,  Optionally, information about the number of collected monitoring instances (or skipped monitoring instances) may be reported. E.g., indication of whether the number of collected monitoring instances is larger than (or smaller than, equal to) a threshold, or a range corresponding to the number of collected monitoring instances. In this case, the bitwidth of CSI field for this information may be reduced. Optionally, the above number of collected monitoring instances may be indicated by (or replaced with) a length of a time window (e.g., effective monitoring window) , which may refer to a time interval between the first collected monitoring instance and the last (or recent) collected monitoring instance.

[0134] Furthermore, if UE receives the first command, a first (reporting) configuration (e.g., indicating UE to report the at least one above information, and optionally the performance metric) may be applied; otherwise, e.g., before UE receives the first command, a second (reporting) configuration (e.g., indicating UE to report the performance metric) may be applied.

[0135] Any of the above discussed information may also be applicable to below embodiments. Merely for brevity, the same or similar contents are omitted herein. In this way, unnecessary (measurement) resources related to monitoring, and measurement (and reporting) overhead may be avoided.

[0136] Other examples will be further discussed with reference to FIG. 4A to FIG. 4C. In the example of FIG. 4A, UE may be configured by NW with a monitoring CSI report, and the monitoring CSI report would be triggered when an event (or condition) or / and a threshold associated with the monitoring CSI report is fulfilled during for a time duration (or time to trigger, or timer, represented by ‘first time duration’ ) , which can be regarded as trigger condition of monitoring CSI report. The first time duration may be configured by NW, and it may be indicated by a time duration (unit: e.g., slot, sub-frame, frame, ms, s, min, hour) or a number of time instances, e.g., measurement time instances. Optionally, the first time duration may be absent, or equal to one time instance (e.g., one monitoring time instance) . For a monitoring instance, UE would evaluate the comparison result (as discussed above) of the monitoring instance based on the event or / and threshold, e.g., UE may determine whether the comparison result is larger than (or smaller than, or equal to) a threshold, or which status the comparison result is, or whether the comparison result is in a certain status, this procedure may be represented by event evaluation. Furthermore, when the trigger condition of monitoring CSI report is fulfilled, UE may calculate or / and report a performance metric based on comparison results of the collected monitoring instance (s) . In this case, the comparison result (itself) may be the performance metric.

[0137] As shown in FIG. 4B, for a monitoring CSI report, if UE receives a signaling (represented by ‘first command’ ) for stopping the inference CSI report associated with the monitoring CSI report, for a monitoring instance after receiving the first command, UE cannot obtain the inference results (of the inference CSI report associated with the monitoring CSI report) associated with the monitoring instance, and UE cannot determine the comparison results of the monitoring instance, thus UE may be unable to perform event evaluation, which may result in UE being unable to perform the monitoring CSI report normally.

[0138] In the example of FIG. 4C, for the monitoring CSI report, before the monitoring CSI report is triggered (or the event is fulfilled during for the first time duration) , if UE receives the first command used for stopping the inference CSI report associated with the monitoring CSI report, the monitoring CSI report (optionally, a new report different from the monitoring CSI report) may be triggered. In other words, the monitoring CSI report may be triggered in advance. Optionally, UE may assume that the first time duration expires, or UE may reset or stop the first time duration.

[0139] In some embodiments, the monitoring CSI report may comprise at least one of the following information: Performance metric. Specifically, UE may calculate the performance metric based on at least one collected monitoring instance before receiving the first command; Information that indicates the event is not fulfilled during the first time duration, i.e., the condition that triggering the monitoring CSI report is not fulfilled; Information that indicates the number of collected monitoring instances; Information that indicates the number of collected monitoring instances that meet the event (or does not meet the event) ; or Information that indicates the number of last (or recent) consecutive collected monitoring instances that meet the event (or does not meet the event) .

[0140] Optionally, in some embodiments, the above number of collected monitoring instances may be indicated by (or replaced with) a length of a time window, which may refer to a time interval between the first collected monitoring instance and the last (or recent) collected monitoring instance.

[0141] The at least one of the above information may be transmitted in the same report, or be transmitted separately, e.g., part of information is transmitted to NW in PUCCH resource (e.g., based on a dedicated SR) , and the remaining information is then transmitted to NW in PUCCH or PUSCH resource (e.g., based on UCI, UL MAC CE) .

[0142] Other examples will be further discussed with reference to FIG. 5A to FIG. 5B.

[0143] As shown in the FIG. 5A, UE may calculate a performance metric based on all monitoring instances within a monitoring window. And UE may perform event (or threshold) evaluation for the performance metric. When the event is fulfilled during a time duration (optionally, e.g., in the following figure, the time duration may be absent) , a monitoring CSI report would be triggered, where the report may comprise the determined performance metric. Furthermore, monitoring interval may be present (or configured) , it may indicate a time duration between two adjacent monitoring windows, or means ‘outside the monitoring window’ .

[0144] Furthermore, as illustrated in FIG. 5B, the first command may be located within a monitoring window, or within a monitoring interval (or outside a monitoring window) , further, it may be located within the first monitoring window, or within another monitoring window expect for the first monitoring window.

[0145] For the monitoring CSI report, before the monitoring CSI report is triggered (or the event is fulfilled during for the first time duration) , if UE receives the first command used for stopping the inference CSI report associated with the monitoring CSI report within a monitoring window, the monitoring CSI report may be stopped, or Case 1-1 may be adopted.

[0146] In some embodiments, if UE receives the first command used for stopping the inference CSI report associated with the monitoring CSI report within the monitoring interval (i.e., outside the monitoring window) , the monitoring CSI report (optionally, a new report different from the monitoring CSI report) may be triggered. Optionally, UE may assume that the first time duration expires, or UE may reset or stop the first time duration, where the monitoring CSI report may comprise at least one of the following information: - Performance metric. Specifically, UE may report at least one of: the last (or recent)  calculated performance metric (i.e., the performance metric determined based on the last (or recent) monitoring window) , the last (or recent) calculated performance metric that meet the event, a statistical value (e.g., mean, maximum, minimum) of the collected calculated performance metrics, or a statistical value of the collected calculated performance metrics meet the event. - Information that indicates the event is not fulfilled during the first time duration, i.e.,  the condition that triggering the monitoring CSI report is not fulfilled. - Information that indicates the number of determined performance metrics. - Information that indicates the number of determined performance metrics that meet  the event (or does not meet the event) . - Information that indicates the number of last (or recent) consecutive determined  performance metrics that meet the event (or does not meet the event) .

[0147] Optionally, in some embodiments, the above number of determined performance metrics may be indicated by (or replaced with) a length of a time window, which may refer to a time interval between a time instance associated with the first determined performance metric and a time instance associated with the last (or recent) determined performance metric.

[0148] The at least one of the above information may be transmitted in the same report, or be transmitted separately, e.g., part of information is transmitted to NW in PUCCH resource (e.g., based on a dedicated SR) , and the remaining information is then transmitted to NW in PUCCH or PUSCH resource (e.g., based on UCI, UL MAC CE) .

[0149] Optionally, the following can be considered. In other words, if at least one performance metric has been determined by UE, the monitoring CSI report (optionally, a new report different from the monitoring CSI report) may be triggered.

[0150] If UE receives the first command used for stopping the inference CSI report associated with the monitoring CSI report within the first monitoring window, the monitoring CSI report is stopped, or example embodiments with reference to FIG. 3A to FIG. 3C may be adopted.

[0151] If UE receives the first command used for stopping the inference CSI report associated with the monitoring CSI report after the first monitoring window, or within the monitoring interval (i.e., outside the monitoring window) or within the monitoring window except for the first monitoring window, the monitoring CSI report (optionally, a new report different from the monitoring CSI report) may be triggered.

[0152] In the actual communication scenario, a report may be dropped due to such as no sufficient transmission, or the transmission of a report may be failed due to the weak communication condition. Further example embodiments about the scenario where a first report associated with a first monitoring instance is dropped / failed will be discussed with reference to FIG. 2B.

[0153] In operation, the network device 120 transmits (255-1) at least one configuration to the terminal device 110, and the terminal device 110 receives (255-2) at least one configuration accordingly. The at least one configuration comprises: a first report configured with a first report quantity and a second report configured with a second report quantity different from the first report quantity, where the second report is associated with the first report.

[0154] In some embodiments, in accordance with a determination that a first report associated with a first monitoring instance is dropped, the terminal device 110 may skip the first monitoring instance. Additionally, in some embodiments, if the terminal device 110 is configured with a monitoring window or a monitoring timer both of which are associated with a set of monitoring instances comprising the first monitoring instance (where a performance metric is configured to be determined based on the set of monitoring instances) , the terminal device 110 may determine the performance metric by excluding the first monitoring instance.

[0155] Alternatively, in some embodiments, in accordance with a determination that a first report associated with a first monitoring instance is dropped, the terminal device 110 may apply a previous first report to monitoring at the first monitoring instance.

[0156] For better understanding about the above processes, more example embodiments will be discussed with reference to FIG. 6A to FIG. 6C.

[0157] As shown in fig. 6A, for a monitoring instance (i.e., for a monitoring CSI report) , if the inference CSI report associated with the monitoring CSI report may be dropped (or omitted, not updated) due to some reasons (e.g., CSI reports collide, insufficient UL resources) , UE cannot obtain the inference results associated with the monitoring instance, which results in the comparison result associated with the monitoring instance would not be determined. It is unclear about how does UE handle the monitoring instance.

[0158] In some embodiments, as illustrated in FIG. 6B, for a mentoring CSI report, for a monitoring instance, if an inference CSI report associated with the monitoring instance is dropped (or omitted, or not updated) : UE may skip the monitoring instance. This may mean at least one of the following: the monitoring instance would not be considered when calculating the performance metric, or would be excluded for calculating the performance metric; the measurement associated with the monitoring instance would be skipped, i.e., measurement resources corresponding to the monitoring instance may not be measured.

[0159] In some embodiments, as illustrated in FIG. 6C, UE may apply a previous inference CSI report (if applicable or exist) , which was not dropped (or omitted, or has been updated) . If such previous inference CSI report does not be applicable (or exist) , UE may skip the monitoring instance.

[0160] In the above discussed embodiments, the monitoring window may be replaced with a timer (represented by ‘monitoring timer’ or ‘data or dataset collection timer’ ) or a counter (represented by ‘monitoring counter’ or ‘data or dataset collection counter’ ) , which may means that, when UE collects a (new) (effective) monitoring instance (or data sample, or data) , the monitoring timer or counter starts (or restarts) , and the monitoring counter may perform ‘increment of 1’ ; when the monitoring timer expires (i.e., the counter equals to a specified or predefined value) , UE may determine a performance metric based on the collected monitoring instances (or data, or data samples) , and / or report the performance metric (e.g., a report configured for the performance metric would be triggered) . The monitoring timer or counter may be associated with the monitoring CSI report, and its value may be configured by NW.

[0161] Optionally, the monitoring timer or counter may be provided by NW additionally, and it is independent from the monitoring window.

[0162] Further, in the above discussed embodiments, if UE receives the first command, at least one of the following: Reset the monitoring timer; Stop (or end) the monitoring timer; (UE may assume) the monitoring timer expires.

[0163] In example embodiments discussed with reference to FIG. 6A and FIG. 6C , if an inference CSI report associated with the monitoring instance is dropped (or omitted, or not updated) , the monitoring timer may be postponed (or paused) , and optionally, until UE collects a (new) (effective) monitoring instance (or data sample, or data) .

[0164] In some case, the CSI report may comprise two parts, namely part 1 and part 2, where the part 1 is un-omissible and the part 2 is omissible. Further, the part 2 may be based on the part 1. In some cases, the CSI report may comprise at least one CSI, which may be at least one predicted CSI corresponding to at least one future time instance and / or at least one measured CSI. In the following, the priority for different CSIs will be discussed with reference to FIG. 2B.

[0165] In operation, the network device 120 transmits (255-1) at least one CSI reporting-related configuration to the terminal device 110 and the terminal device 110 receives (255-2) the t least one CSI reporting-related configuration accordingly. Then the terminal device 110 transmits (260-1) a CSI report to the network device 120 to the network device 120 based on the at least one CSI reporting-related configuration, and the network device 120 receives (260-2) the CSI report accordingly.

[0166] In the example embodiments of the present disclosure, the CSI report comprises at least one predicted CSI corresponding to at least one future time instance and / or at least one measured CSI, and the omissible part of the CSI report (i.e., part 2) is configured to comprise at least part of the at least one CSI. In particular, the omission may be determined based on a priority for CSI, and the priority for CSI may be determined based on at least one of the following: a distance between a future time instance corresponding to a predicted CSI and a current measurement time instance, a performance metric corresponding to the future time instance corresponding to a predicted CSI if the CSI is a predicted CSI, whether a predicted CSI comprises a wideband CSI, whether a predicted CSI comprises an even subband CSI, whether a predicted CSI comprises an odd subband CSI, or whether a CSI is a measurement CSI or a predicted CSI.

[0167] More example embodiments of the intra-report priority will be discussed below. In some cases, the CSI report may comprise two parts, i.e., Part 1 CSI and Part 2 CSI. The UE may omit a portion of the Part 2 CSI. Omission of Part 2 CSI is according to a specified priority order (or level, rule) as follows.

[0168] In this case, the CSI report only comprises measured CSI. However, in CSI prediction or temporal CSI compression, the CSI report for inference may comprise predicted CSIs of one or more future time instances, or predicted CSIs of one or more future time instances and measured CSI (of the current or recent measurement time instance) . Further, the Part 2 CSI may comprise (part of) the predicted CSIs of one or more future time instances, or the predicted CSIs of one or more future time instances and the measured CSI (of the current or recent measurement time instance) . In this case, omission of Part 2 CSI may be according to a new priority order, especially for predicted CSIs of multiple future time instances are included in the Part 2 CSI.

[0169] For a CSI report for inference, e.g., the CSI report is configured for reporting predicted CSI, or predicted CSI of at least one future time instance, omission of Part 2 CSI of the CSI report for inference is according to a new priority order, i.e., the priority of a predicted CSI.

[0170] In some embodiments, the priority of a predicted CSI may be determined based on a distance between the future time instance corresponding to the predicted CSI and the current measurement time instance (or the reporting instance of the CSI report for inference, or the CSI reference resource associated with the CSI report for inference) corresponding to the predicted CSI. For example, (predicted CSIs of) future time instances with different distances may correspond to different groups. The larger the distance corresponding to a future time instance corresponding to a predicted CSI, the lower the priority order (i.e., the larger the value of group index) corresponding to a predicted CSI. This may imply that the predicted CSI of the farthest future time instance may be omitted.

[0171] Alternatively, or in addition, in some embodiments, the priority of a predicted CSI may be determined based on Performance metric (e.g., SGCS) corresponding to the future time instance corresponding to the predicted CSI. For example, (predicted CSIs of) future time instances with different performance metrics may correspond to different groups. The worse (e.g., the lower the SGCS) the performance metric corresponding to a future time instance corresponding to a predicted CSI, the lower the priority order (i.e., the larger the value of group index) corresponding to a predicted CSI. This may imply that the predicted CSI of the farthest future time instance with the worst performance metric (e.g., the lowest SGCS) may be omitted. Below tables are examples for defining the priority of a predicted CSI.

[0172] Optionally, in some embodiments, the current specified priority order (i.e., wideband, even subbands and odd subbands correspond to different groups) can be reused. Furthermore, this priority order (i.e., the same priority order) may be applied simultaneously to all predicted CSIs in the same CSI report for inference. For example, Part 2 subband CSIs of odd subbands of all predicted CSIs in the CSI report may be omitted simultaneously.

[0173] Furthermore, when the CSI report is configured for reporting predicted CSI and measured CSI, omission of Part 2 CSI of the CSI report for inference is according to a new priority order, which (i.e., the priority of a predicted CSI) may be determined based on whether the (reported) CSI is the measured CSI or the predicted CSI. For example, the priority of the measured CSI (i.e., the value of group index) may be higher than that of the predicted CSI.

[0174] Optionally, the current priority order (i.e., the same priority order) may be applied simultaneously to all predicted CSIs and measured CSI in the same CSI report for inference. Below table is an example for defining the priority of a predicted CSI.

[0175] In some cases, more than one CSI report may be triggered. In the following, the priority for different CSI reports will be discussed with reference to FIG. 2B.

[0176] In operation, the network device 120 transmits (255-1) at least one CSI reporting-related configuration to the terminal device 110 and the terminal device 110 receives (255-2) the t least one CSI reporting-related configuration accordingly. Then the terminal device 110 determines a first CSI report based on the at least one CSI reporting-related configuration, where a priority of the first CSI report may be determined based on at least one of the following: whether the first CSI report is associated with a second CSI report, whether the first CSI report comprises an overall compressed CSI or a separate compressed CSI, or whether the first CSI report comprises predicted CSI or measured CSI and predicted CSI.

[0177] In some embodiments, a first priority of a first CSI report which is associated with a second CSI report is higher than a second priority of a further first CSI report which is not associated with a second CSI report. In some other embodiments, a first priority of a first CSI report which is associated with a second CSI report is lower than a second priority of a further first CSI report which is not associated with a second CSI report. In some embodiments, a first report quantity of the first report may comprise prediction information, and a second report quantity of the second report may comprise at least one performance metric.

[0178] In some embodiments, a first priority of a first CSI report comprising an overall compressed CSI is higher than a second priority of a further first CSI report comprising a separate compressed CSI. In some other embodiments, a first priority of a first CSI report comprising an overall compressed CSI is lower than a second priority of a further first CSI report comprising a separate compressed CSI.

[0179] In some embodiments, a first priority of a first CSI report comprising measured CSI and predicted CSI is higher than a second priority of a further first CSI report comprising predicted CSI. In some other embodiments, a first priority of a first CSI report comprising measured CSI and predicted CSI is lower than a second priority of a further first CSI report comprising predicted CSI.

[0180] More example embodiments of the inter-report priority will be discussed below. For a monitoring CSI report, the corresponding reported quantity (e.g., performance metric) must be determined based on the reported CSI of the inference CSI report associated with the monitoring CSI report. In order to ensure obtaining the effective (or available) reported CSI of the associated inference CSI report, the associated inference CSI report should not be dropped when multiple CSI reports (e.g., multiple inference CSI reports) collide, in other words, new priority rule for (inference) CSI report may be specified.

[0181] In some embodiments, it may specify the priority between a CSI report (e.g., inference CSI report) that is associated with at least one further CSI report (e.g., monitoring CSI report) and another CSI report (e.g., inference CSI report) that are not associated with any further CSI report (e.g., monitoring CSI report) .

[0182] For example, a CSI report (e.g., inference CSI report) that is associated with at least one further CSI report (e.g., monitoring CSI report) has a higher priority over all CSI report (s) (e.g., inference CSI report) (or another CSI report) that are not associated with any further CSI report (e.g., monitoring CSI report) , optionally, irrespective of PriiCSI(y,k,c,s) value in case of collision with CSI report (s) configured with CSI-ReportConfig.

[0183] Additionally, in case of temporal CSI compression, different CSI reports may comprise different types of compressed CSI, e.g., overall compressed CSI, separated compressed CSI. Wherein the overall compressed CSI means that the (same) compressed CSI is associated with all future time instances, wherein the separated compressed CSI means that each compressed CSI is associated with an independent future time instance. For handling the case of multiple CSI reports carrying different types of compressed CSI collide, the following can be considered.

[0184] In some embodiments, it may specify the priority between a CSI report carrying the overall compressed CSI and another CSI report carrying the separate compressed CSI. For example, a CSI report carrying the overall compressed CSI has a higher priority over another CSI report carrying the separate compressed bits. Optionally, new PriiCSI(y,k,c,s) value, or / and new value of the k or / and new factor (in addition to y, k , c, s) can be introduced and specified for the CSI report carrying the overall or / and separate compressed CSI .

[0185] FIG. 7 illustrates a flowchart of a communication method 700 implemented at a terminal device in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussion, the method 700 will be described from the perspective of the terminal device in FIG. 1.

[0186] At block 710, the terminal device receives, from a network device, at least one configuration comprising: a first report configured with a first report quantity and a second report configured with a second report quantity different from the first report quantity, wherein the second report is associated with the first report.

[0187] At block 720, in response to receiving a first command for stopping the first report, the terminal device performs at least one of the following: determining a performance metric based on at least part of at least one first monitoring instance or at least one first set of monitoring instances that is before receiving the first command. skipping at least one second monitoring instance or at least one second set of monitoring instances that is after receiving the first command. or stopping measurement and reporting associated with the second report after receiving the first command.

[0188] In some example embodiments, the terminal device may transmit, to the network device, at least one measurement report comprising at least one of the following: the performance metric, a first number of monitoring instances of the at least one first monitoring instance, a second number of monitoring instances of the at least one second monitoring instance, an indication of whether the first number is larger than or equal to a first threshold, an indication of whether the second number is larger than or equal to a second threshold, a first duration within which the performance metric is obtained, or a second duration within which the at least one second monitoring instance is skipped.

[0189] In some example embodiments, a bitwidth of a field indicating the first number or the second number is associated with a number of monitoring instances comprised in a set of monitoring instances determined based on a monitoring window or a monitoring timer indicated by the network device.

[0190] In some example embodiments, the terminal device is configured with a monitoring window or a monitoring timer associated with a set of monitoring instances. The terminal device may transmit, to the network device, at least one measurement report comprising an indication of whether the performance metric is determined based on all of the set of monitoring instances.

[0191] In some example embodiments, the second report is configured to be triggered in accordance with an event associated with the second report being fulfilled during a time duration, evaluation of the event is performed based on a performance metric that is determined per monitoring instance. The terminal device may transmit, to the network device, at least one measurement report comprising at least one of the following: the performance metric, an indication that the event is not fulfilled during the time duration, a first number of monitoring instances of the at least one first monitoring instance, a second number of first monitoring instances that meet the event, a third number of first monitoring instances that do not meet the event, a fourth number of consecutive first monitoring instances that meet the event, a fifth number of consecutive first monitoring instances that do not meet the event, a sixth number of a last consecutive first monitoring instances that meet the event, or a seventh number of a last consecutive first monitoring instances that do not meet the event.
