Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a solution for management of measurement report. In a solution, a first device receives, from a second device, a request for suspending a measurement report of a sensing signal to the second device. The first device suspends a transmission of at least a part of a measurement result of the sensing signal to the second device. In this way, the flexibility of the management of the measurement result reporting and the efficiency of the measurement result reporting may be improved.

[0046] Principles and implementations of the present disclosure will be described in detail below with reference to the figures.

[0047] FIG. 1A illustrates a schematic diagram of an example communication environment 100A in which example embodiments of the present disclosure can be implemented. In the communication environment 100A, a plurality of communication devices, including a first device 110 and a second device 120, are illustrated. The first device 110 may communicate with the second device 120.

[0048] The first device 110 may perform communication and / or sensing. In the case where the sensing is performed, the first device 110 may be a sensing receiver (also referred to as a receiving device / node) which receives the sensing signal and obtain a measurement result of the received sensing signal. The sensing receiver may be an entity that receives the sensing signal which the sensing service may use in its operation. The sensing receiver may be implemented as a new radio (NR) radio access network (RAN) node or a UE. The sensing receiver may be located in the same or different entity as a sensing transmitter.

[0049] In addition, the measurement result of the sensing signal may include, for example, but not limited to, sensing measurement data or sensing result. The sensing measurement data may include data collected about radio / wireless signals impacted (e.g. reflected, refracted, diffracted) by an object or environment of interest for sensing purposes. The sensing result may include sensing data requested by a service consumer.

[0050] In some example implementations, although not shown the communication environment 100A, a sensing transmitter (also referred to as a transmitting device / node) may be involved. The sensing transmitter may be the entity that sends out the sensing signal which the sensing service may use in its operation. The sensing transmitter may be implemented as a NR RAN node or a UE. Additionally, the sensing transmitter may be located in the same or different entity as the sensing receiver.

[0051] The second device 120 may be implemented as, for example, a UE, a gNB, or a device implementing a sensing function. In an example of FIG. 1A, the first device 110 may be a UE and the second device 120 may be a base station serving the UE.

[0052] In the following, for the purpose of illustration, some example embodiments are described with the first device 110 operating as a UE and the second device 120 operating as a base station. However, in some example embodiments, operations described in connection with a terminal device may be implemented at a network device or other device, and operations described in connection with a network device may be implemented at a terminal device or other device.

[0053] In some example embodiments, if the first device 110 is a terminal device and the second device 120 is a network device, a link from the second device 120 to the first device 110 is referred to as a downlink (DL) , while a link from the first device 110 to the second device 120 is referred to as an uplink (UL) . In DL, the second device 120 is a transmitting (TX) device (or a transmitter) and the first device 110 is a receiving (RX) device (or a receiver) . In UL, the first device 110 is a TX device (or a transmitter) and the second device 120 is a RX device (or a receiver) .

[0054] FIG. 1B illustrates another example communication environment 100B in which example embodiments of the present disclosure can be implemented. In the communication environment 100B, a plurality of communication devices, including a third device 130, a fourth device 140, and a fifth device 150, are illustrated. The third device 130 may be implemented as a terminal device, for example, a UE. The fourth device 140 may be implemented as a network device, for example, a gNB. The fifth device 150 may be implemented as a device implementing a network function. In an example of FIG. 1B, the third device 130 may be a UE and the fourth device 140 may be a base station serving the UE.

[0055] The third device 130 may perform communication and / or sensing. In the case where the sensing is performed, the third device 130 may be a sensing receiver (also referred to as a receiving device / node) which receives the sensing signal and obtain a measurement result of the received sensing signal. The Sensing receiver may be an entity that receives the sensing signal which the sensing service may use in its operation. The sensing receiver may be implemented as a UE. The sensing receiver may be located in the same or different entity as a sensing transmitter.

[0056] In addition, the measurement result of the sensing signal may include, for example, but not limited to, sensing measurement data or sensing result. The sensing measurement data may include data collected about radio / wireless signals impacted (e.g. reflected, refracted, diffracted) by an object or environment of interest for sensing purposes. The sensing result may include sensing data requested by a service consumer.

[0057] In some example implementations, although not shown the communication environment 100B, a sensing transmitter (also referred to as a transmitting device / node) may be involved. The sensing transmitter may be the entity that sends out the sensing signal which the sensing service may use in its operation. The sensing transmitter may be implemented as a NR RAN node or a UE. Additionally, the sensing transmitter may be located in the same or different entity as the sensing receiver.

[0058] It is to be understood that the number of devices and their connections shown in FIGS. 1A and 1B are only for the purpose of illustration without suggesting any limitation. The communication environments 100A and 100B may include any suitable number of devices configured to implementing example embodiments of the present disclosure. Although not shown, it would be appreciated that one or more additional devices may be located in the communication environments 100A and 100B.

[0059] The communications in the communication environments 100A and 100B may conform to any suitable standards including, but not limited to, Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) , Long Term Evolution (LTE) , LTE-Evolution, LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) , New Radio (NR) , Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) , Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) , GSM EDGE Radio Access Network (GERAN) , Machine Type Communication (MTC) and the like. The embodiments of the present disclosure may be performed according to any generation communication protocols either currently known or to be developed in the future. Examples of the communication protocols include, but not limited to, the first generation (1G) , the second generation (2G) , 2.5G, 2.75G, the third generation (3G) , the fourth generation (4G) , 4.5G, the fifth generation (5G) communication protocols, 5.5G, 5G-Advanced networks, or the sixth generation (6G) networks.

[0060] Reference is now made to FIG. 2, which illustrates a schematic diagram 200 of six example sensing modes in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0061] As shown in FIG. 2, sensing mode 1 (also referred to as “mode 1” ) is a gNB-based mono-static sensing mode. In the sensing mode 1, a sensing signal is transmitted by a network node, e.g., gNB, and received / measured by the network node itself, may be referred to as transmission and receiving point (TRP) mono-static mode sometimes.

[0062] Sensing mode 2 (also referred to as “mode 2” ) is a gNB-based bi-static sensing mode. In the sensing mode 2, a sensing signal is transmitted by network node A and received / measured by network node B, may be referred to as TRP-TRP bi-static sensing mode sometimes.

[0063] Sensing mode 3 (also referred to as “mode 3” ) is a gNB-to-UE-based bi-static sensing mode. In the sensing mode 3, a sensing signal is transmitted by a network node and received / measured by UE, may be referred to as TRP-UE bi-static mode sometimes.

[0064] Sensing mode 4 (also referred to as “mode 4” ) is a UE-to-gNB-based bi-static sensing mode. In the sensing mode 4, a sensing signal is transmitted by UE and received / measured by the UE itself, may be referred to as UE-TRP bi-static mode sometimes.

[0065] Sensing mode 5 (also referred to as “mode 5” ) is a UE-based mono-static sensing mode. In the sensing mode 5, a sensing signal is transmitted by UE and received / measured by the UE, may be referred to as UE mono-static mode sometimes.

[0066] Sensing mode 6 (also referred to as “mode 6” ) is a UE-based bi-static sensing mode. In the sensing mode 6, a sensing signal is transmitted by UE A and received / measured by UE B, may be referred to as UE-UE bi-static mode sometimes.

[0067] It is to be understood that the above sensing modes may be used in any combination or separately.

[0068] It would be appreciated that the sensing modes illustrated in FIG. 2 are examples only and there may be many other sensing modes. It would be appreciated that more than one second communication device may be involved in a sensing service. It can be seen from the sensing modes in FIG. 2 that there may be various combinations of the devices which are to measure a sensing signal.

[0069] Regarding the study on channel modelling for Integrated Sensing And Communication (ISAC) for NR, the focus of the study is to define channel modelling aspects to support object detection and / or tracking. The study may aim at a common modelling framework capable of detecting and / or tracking the following example objects and to enable them to be distinguished from unintended objects: UAVs, humans indoors and outdoors, automotive vehicles (at least outdoors) , automated guided vehicles (e.g. in indoor factories) , and objects creating hazards on roads / railways, with a minimum size dependent on frequency.

[0070] All of the six sensing modes, as discussed with respect to FIG. 2, may be considered (i.e. TRP-TRP bistatic, TRP monostatic, TRP-UE bistatic, UE-TRP bistatic, UE-UE bistatic, UE monostatic) .

[0071] There is a need to study about the workload, available time units (TU) , and the commercial and implementation demand of the integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) . Additionally, the performance evaluation of the ISAC and the mechanism for reusing the existing design of the fifth generation-advanced new radio (5G-ANR) for the ISAC is to be studied. In addition, the measurement report for sensing may be defined. Architecture, function interfaces, and protocols to enable TRP monostatic sensing may be studied.

[0072] In the case that multiple node coordination is used, if the network device, the sensing function device, or the service device determine that the measurement results from some nodes are not needed, the measurement result reporting (also referred to as “measurement reporting” , for purpose of discussion) may need to be suspended or cancelled. Additionally, the measurement results reported to the network device, the sensing function device, or the service device may be large. The mechanism to report the measurement results more efficiently is to be studied.

[0073] To solve the above and other related / potential issues, embodiments of the present disclosure propose a solution. In the solution, a request for suspending a measurement report of a sensing signal is proposed. If the device performing the sensing procedure receives the request, a transmission of at least a part of a measurement result of the sensing signal may be suspended. In this way, the measurement result reporting may be suspended or cancelled. Additionally, the efficiency of the measurement reporting may be improved.

[0074] Reference is made to FIG. 3, which a signaling flow 300 of management of measurement report in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purposes of discussion, the signaling flow 300 will be discussed with reference to FIG. 1A, for example, by using the first device 110 and the second device 120. In the example of FIG. 3, the first device 110 may be implemented as, for example, a terminal device or a network device. The second device 120 may be implemented as a terminal device, a network device, a device implementing a sensing function or a further network function, for example, a location management function (LMF) .

[0075] In some embodiments, the first device 110 may be an implementation of a sensing receiver of a sensing procedure, and the second device 120 may be an implementation of a device obtaining the measurement results from the first device 110. Additionally, in some scenarios of the sensing modes, the first device 110 may be implemented as a network device, a sensing node, or a sensing device. The second device 120 may be implemented as a device implementing a sensing function (SF) .

[0076] In operation, the second device 120 transmits (3010) , to the first device 110, a request for suspending a measurement report of a sensing signal to the second device 120. Correspondingly, the first device 110 receives (3020) the request from the second device 120. Additionally, the request may be for cancelling the measurement report. In some embodiments, the measurement report of the sensing signal is suspended. In some other embodiments, the measurement report of the sensing signal is cancelled. It is noted that both suspending and cancelling mentioned herein mean causing the measurement result reporting to be stopped. Embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited here.

[0077] In some embodiments, before transmitting the request to the first device 110, the second device may determine whether to request the first device 110 to suspend measurement report of the sensing signal to the second device 120. Specifically, the second device 120 may determine whether to an accuracy of a measurement result of the sensing signal reaches a first threshold. In this case, if the accuracy of the measurement result reaches the first threshold, the second device 120 may transmit the request to the first device 110. Alternatively or in addition, the second device 120 may determine whether to an amount of a measurement result of the sensing signal reaches a second threshold. In this case, if the amount of the measurement result reaches the second threshold, the second device 120 may transmit the request to the first device 110.

[0078] It is noted the accuracy and the amount of the measurement result mentioned herein are only for the purpose of illustration, without suggesting any limitation. Embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited here. Other criteria may be used by the second device 120 for determining whether to transmit the request to the first device 110.

[0079] In some implementations, the request may be comprised in downlink control information (DCI) or medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) . In this case, the first device 110 may be implemented as a UE, and the second device 120 may be implemented as a gNB. Alternatively, the request may be included in a sidelink message. In this case, the first device 110 and the second device 120 may be two UEs communicating based on the sidelink message.

[0080] Subsequently, the first device 110 suspends (3030) a transmission of at least a part of a measurement result of the sensing signal to the second device 120. In some embodiments, the first device 110 may be a device performing a sensing procedure and may suspend the transmission. In some implementations, a measurement of the sensing signal may be suspended in response to receiving the request. Additionally, the transmission of the sensing signal may be also suspended.

[0081] Additionally, the first device 110 may transmit, to the second device 120, a response to the request. The response may include an indication indicating whether the transmission of the at least part of the measurement report is suspended. Correspondingly, the second device 120 may receive the indication from the first device 110.

[0082] In some implementations, the request may include indication information for suspending the transmission. In this case, the first device 110 may suspend the transmission of the at least part of the measurement result based on the indication information. Specifically, the indication information may include an identification of at least one of the first device 110, a transmitter of the sensing signal, or a receiver of the sensing signal.

[0083] In some embodiments, the indication information may include time information for suspending the transmission of the at least part of the measurement result. The time information may indicate one or more of time periods on which the transmission of the at least part of the measurement result is suspended. For example, the time information may indicate a start time and an end time, or a start time and a length of time for suspending the transmission.

[0084] Additionally, the indication information may include suspending information indicating the at least part of the measurement result to be suspended. In some embodiments, the indication information may include suspending information indicating the at least part of the measurement result whose transmission is to be suspended. Alternatively, in some implementations, the transmission of all of the measurement result may be suspended. The suspending information may further indicate at least a part of one or more measurement results to be suspended. In some implementations, the suspending information may indicate at least a part of one or more measurement results whose transmissions are to be suspended. For example, in some embodiments, the suspending information may indicate that the transmission of the measurement result of the next measurement (or a number of measurements) of the sensing signal is to be suspended upon receiving the request.

[0085] In some implementations, the measurement report of the sensing signal may be resumed. Specifically, the second device 120 may transmit, to the first device 110, a resume indication indicating the first device 110 to resume the measurement report of the sensing signal. Correspondingly, the first device 110 may receive the resume indication from the second device 120. Then, the first device 110 may resume the transmission of the at least part of the measurement result which has been suspended based on the request. Additionally, if the transmission of the sensing signal is also suspended, as mentioned above, a further indication may be used to resume the transmission of the sensing signal.

[0086] In some embodiments, in response to receiving the request, the first device 120 may maintain a configuration of the measurement report of the sensing signal for resuming the transmission of the at least part of the measurement result and / or a measurement of the sensing signal.

[0087] In this way, the transmission of at least a part of a measurement result of the sensing signal to the second device 120 may be suspended by the first device 110 based on the request transmitted from the second device 120. Additionally, the load of the transmission of the measurement result may be reduced. Thus, the flexibility of the management of the measurement report and the efficiency of the measurement report of the sensing signal may be improved.

[0088] Reference is made to FIG. 4A, which illustrates an example signaling flow 400A of management of measurement report in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. The example embodiments discussed with respect to FIG. 4A may be implementations of the example embodiments discussed with reference to FIG. 3. As illustrated, the FIG. 4A involves a receiving node 410 and a device implementing a SF (referred to as “SF” , for purpose of discussion) 420. The receiving node 410 may be an implementation of the first device 110 in FIG. 1A, and the SF 420 may be an implementation of the second device 120 in FIG. 1A.

[0089] In some embodiments, the receiving node 410 may be implemented as a sensing receiver, for example, a network device, a network node, or a receiving device. The SF 410 may be implemented in a centralized control node or a device implementing a further network function, for example, a device implementing the LMF (also referred to as “LMF” , for purpose of discussion) .

[0090] In the example of FIG. 4A, in a sensing or ISAC procedure, the SF 420 may receive the measurement result of a sensing signal from the receiving node 410. The SF 420 may determine to suspend the measurement result reporting if one or more conditions is met. For example, the conditions may include some measurement results accuracy reaches a threshold, or the received measurement results are enough. Then, at 4010, the SF 420 may transmit, to the receiving node 410, a cancel / suspend measurement report request message. Specifically, the SF 420 may inform the receiving node 410 to suspend the measurement result reporting for sensing or ISAC for a time period.

[0091] In this case, for interface message between the SF 420 and the receiving node 410, a new interface message may be used. For example, the cancel / suspend measurement report request message may be implemented as a new interface message. Alternatively, the current interface message may be reused. That is, an indication for the receiving node 410 to suspend the measurement result reporting and related information may be included in the current interface message.

[0092] Moreover, the cancel / suspend measurement report request message may include the identification (ID) of the receiving node 410, for example, the device ID of the receiving node 410. In some embodiments, if the sensing procedure involves a target device reflecting the sensing signal, the cancel / suspend measurement report request message may include a target ID of the target device. Additionally, the cancel / suspend measurement report request message may include the transmitter ID of the sensing transmitter, and the source ID of the sensing signal.

[0093] In some implementations, the cancel / suspend measurement report request message may include time information of suspending the measurement result reporting, for example, the time duration, time range, or a period. Specifically, a start time and an end time or a start time and a length of time of the time duration for suspending the measurement result reporting. In some implementations, the time information may indicate that the transmission of the measurement result of the next measurement of the sensing signal is to be suspended. Alternatively or in addition, the time information may indicate that the measurement result of one or more measurements of the sensing signal is to be suspended.

[0094] Furthermore, the cancel / suspend measurement report request message may include suspending information indicating a type of suspending the measurement result reporting. For example, the cancel / suspend measurement report request message may include an indication indicating that all measurement results are not reported. Alternatively, the cancel / suspend measurement report request message may include an indication indicating that a part of the measurement results need to be reported, for example, location accuracy, range resolution, speed resolution, angle, and delay. In this case, the part of the measurement results may be reported while the transmission of the rest of the measurement results may be suspended.

[0095] After receiving the cancel / suspend measurement report request message, at 4020 the receiving node 410 may cancel or suspend measurement reporting of the sensing signal. Specifically, the receiving node 410 may cancel or suspend measurement reporting based on the information included in the cancel / suspend measurement report request message. In some embodiment, the receiving UE 410 may cancel or suspend a part of the measurement reporting, for example, suspend the transmission of a part of the measurement result of the sensing signal.

[0096] Additionally, in some embodiments, upon receiving the cancel / suspend measurement report request message, the sensing transmitter and the sensing receiver may continue to store measurement configuration. For example, when the measurement result reporting is resumed, the stored measurement configuration may be used by the sensing transmitter and the sensing receiver.

[0097] At 4030, the receiving node 410 may transmit a cancel / suspend measurement report response message to the SF 420. The cancel / suspend measurement report response message may include information about a success or failure of suspending the measurement result reporting.

[0098] In some embodiments, the receiving node 410 may not transmit the cancel / suspend measurement report response message to the SF 420. Reference is made to FIG. 4B, which illustrates an example signaling flow 400B of management of measurement report in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. The example embodiments discussed with respect to FIG. 4B may be implementations of the example embodiments discussed with reference to FIG. 3.

[0099] Similar to the example of FIG. 4A, the example of FIG. 4B also involves the receiving node 410 and the SF 420. At 4030, the SF 420 may transmit the cancel / suspend measurement report request message to the receiving node 410. This step is similar to 4010 and thus will not be repeated here.

[0100] Then, at 4040, the receiving node 410 may cancel or suspend measurement reporting of the sensing signal. In some embodiment, the receiving UE 510 may cancel or suspend a part of the measurement reporting, for example, suspend the transmission of a part of the measurement result of the sensing signal. This step is similar to 4020 and thus will not be repeated here.

[0101] In contrast to the embodiments shown with respect to FIG. 4A, in the signaling flow 400B, no response to the cancel / suspend measurement report request message is sent from the receiving node 410 to the SF 420. That is, no further signaling may be needed for notifying the SF 420.

[0102] In this way, the SF 420 may be able to cause the receiving node 410 to suspending the measurement result reporting. Additionally, the load of the transmission of the measurement result may be reduced. Thus, the flexibility of the management of the measurement report may be improved.

[0103] In some embodiments, the receiving device of the receiving node of the sensing signal is a UE, for example, in the scenario of the sensing modes 3, 5, and 6. In the scenario of the sensing mode 3, a network device may transmit sensing signals. A UE may receive the sensing signal and perform measurements on the sensing signal.

[0104] In the scenario of the sensing mode 5, a UE may transmit the sensing signal and receive the reflection signal or refracted signal by the target. In this case, when receiving the cancelling / suspending indication from a device implementing the SF or other network function or a centralized control node, the network device may transmit the indication to the UE by DCI or MAC CE.

[0105] In the scenario of the sensing mode 6, a UE may transmit the sensing signal and a further UE may receive the reflection signal or refracted signal by the target. In this case, if there is no sensing management terminal, the network device may transmit the cancelling / suspending indication received from a device implementing the SF or other network function or a centralized control node. The cancelling / suspending indication may be transmitted by DCI or MAC CE. Additionally, in some implementations, new DCI or the current DCI may be used for the cancelling / suspending indication. In some embodiments, a new downlink MAC CE may be used for the cancelling / suspending indication.

[0106] Furthermore, the cancelling / suspending indication may include a sensing reference signal resource set ID or a sensing reference signal resource ID. In addition, the cancelling / suspending indication may include time information of suspending the measurement result reporting, for example, the time duration, time range, or a period.

[0107] For instance, the time information may include a list which include multiple time indicated by a radio resource control (RRC) message. The time index may be indicated by MAC CE or DCI.

[0108] In these cases, when receiving the cancelling / suspending indication from the network device or other device or node, the receiving device or receiving node may suspend or stop performing sensing measurement and / or measurement result reporting for a time duration indicated in the cancelling / suspending indication.

[0109] Reference is made to FIG. 5A, which illustrates an example signaling flow 500A of management of measurement report in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. The example embodiments discussed with respect to FIG. 5A may be implementations of the example embodiments discussed with reference to FIG. 3. As illustrated, the FIG. 5A involves a receiving UE 510 and a sensing management UE 520. The receiving UE 510 may be an implementation of the first device 110 in FIG. 1A, and the sensing management UE 520 may be an implementation of the second device 120 in FIG. 1A.

[0110] The signaling flow 500A may be implemented in the scenario of the sensing mode 6. In this case, a UE (referred to as “transmitting UE” , for purpose of discussion) may be an implementation of the sensing transmitter. The receiving UE 510 may be an implementation of the sensing receiver. The sensing management UE implement a function similar to the sensing function. In some embodiments, if multiple node coordination is used, the sensing management UE 520 may inform the receiving UE 510 to cancel or suspend performing measurement and / or measurement result reporting of the sensing signal.

[0111] As illustrated in FIG. 5A, at 5010, the sensing management UE 520 may transmit, to the receiving UE 510, a cancel / suspend measurement report request message. The cancel / suspend measurement report request message may be an implementation of the cancelling / suspending indication described above. In some implementations, the cancel / suspend measurement report request message may be transmitted via a sidelink message.

[0112] Then, at 5020, the receiving UE 510 may cancel or suspend the measurement reporting. Specifically, the receiving UE 510 may suspend the transmission of the measurement result of the sensing signal based on information include in the cancel / suspend measurement report request message. In some embodiment, the receiving UE 510 may cancel or suspend a part of the measurement reporting, for example, suspend the transmission of a part of the measurement result of the sensing signal.

[0113] Subsequently, at 5030, the receiving UE 510 may transmit a cancel / suspend measurement report response message to the sensing management UE 520. The cancel / suspend measurement report response message may include information about a success or failure of suspending the measurement result reporting. In some implementations, the cancel / suspend measurement report response message may be transmitted via a sidelink message.

[0114] In some embodiments, the receiving UE 510 may not transmit the cancel / suspend measurement report response message to the sensing management UE 520. Reference is made to FIG. 5B, which illustrates an example signaling flow 500B of management of measurement report in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. The example embodiments discussed with respect to FIG. 5B may be implementations of the example embodiments discussed with reference to FIG. 3.

[0115] Similar to the example of FIG. 5A, the example of FIG. 5B also involves the receiving UE 510 and the sensing management UE 520. At 5040, the sensing management UE 520 may transmit the cancel / suspend measurement report request message to the receiving UE 510. In some implementations, the cancel / suspend measurement report request message may be transmitted via a sidelink message. This step is similar to 5010 and thus will not be repeated here.

[0116] Then, at 5050, the receiving UE 510 may cancel or suspend measurement reporting of the sensing signal. In some embodiment, the receiving UE 510 may cancel or suspend a part of the measurement reporting, for example, suspend the transmission of a part of the measurement result of the sensing signal. This step is similar to 5020 and thus will not be repeated here.

[0117] In contrast to the embodiments shown with respect to FIG. 5A, in the signaling flow 500B, no response to the cancel / suspend measurement report request message is sent from the receiving UE 510 to the sensing management UE 520. That is, no further signaling may be needed for notifying the sensing management UE 520.

[0118] In this way, the sensing management UE 520 may be able to cause the receiving UE 510 to suspending the measurement result reporting. Additionally, the load of the transmission of the measurement result may be reduced. Thus, the flexibility of the management of the measurement report may be improved.

[0119] Additionally, when sensing measurement and / or measurement reporting are suspended, once the measurement results are needed, a resume indication may be sent to the receiving node or receiving UE. In this case, the receiving node or receiving UE may resume sensing measurement and / or measurement reporting.

[0120] Specifically, in some implementations, the resume indication may be sent to the network device by the device implementing a SF or other network device or a centralized node. Then, the network device may send the resume indication to the receiving node or receiving UE to resume sensing measurement and / or sensing measurement reporting.

[0121] Alternatively or in addition, in some embodiments, if the data volume of the measurement result of the sensing signal is too large, a part of the measurement result may be not reported. Reference is made to FIG. 6, which illustrates a signaling flow 600 of management of measurement report in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purposes of discussion, the signaling flow 600 will be discussed with reference to FIG. 1B, for example, by using the third device 130, the fourth device 140, and the fifth device 150. In the example of FIG. 6, the third device 130 may be implemented as a terminal device. The fourth device 140 may be implemented as a network device. The fifth device 150 may be implemented as a device implementing a network function, for example, a SF or an LMF.

[0122] In some embodiments, the third device 130 may be an implementation of a sensing receiver of a sensing procedure, and the fifth device 150 may be an implementation of a device obtaining the measurement results from the third device 130 via the fourth device 140. Additionally, in some scenarios of the sensing modes, the third device 130 may be implemented as a sensing node, or a sensing device. The fourth device 140 may be implemented as a further sensing node, or a sensing device. The fifth device 150 may be implemented as a sensing management device.

[0123] In operation, the third device 130 determines (6010) at least one measurement result to be reported from a plurality of measurement results based on at least one of: a request for the at least one measurement result or at least one of an accuracy or resolutions of the plurality of available measurement results. The plurality of available measurement results are associated with a sensing signal.

[0124] In some embodiment, the at least one measurement result to be reported may be determined based on the request for the at least one measurement result. In this case, as illustrated, the third device 130 may transmit (6020) , to the fourth device 140, information of the plurality of available measurement results. Correspondingly, the fourth device 140 receives (6030) the information of the plurality of available measurement results from the third device 130.

[0125] The information of the plurality of available measurement results may indicate, for example, but not limited to, a distance resolution, a speed resolution, a location accuracy, an angle, a data size, or data quality.

[0126] After receiving the information of the plurality of available measurement results from the third device 130, the fourth device 140 determines (6040) at least one measurement result from the plurality of available measurement results based on the information of the plurality of available measurement results.

[0127] Specifically, in some implementations, the fourth device 140 may select the at least one measurement result from the plurality of available measurement results independently. Alternatively, the fourth device 140 may communicate with the fifth device 150 for information for determining the at least one measurement result. In this case, the fourth device 140 may transmit (6050) , to the fifth device 150, a request for an indication of the at least one measurement result. The request may include the information of the plurality of available measurement results. Correspondingly, the fifth device 150 receives (6060) the request from the fourth device.

[0128] Subsequently, the fifth device 150 transmits (6070) , to the fourth device 140, a response to the request. The response includes the indication of the at least one measurement result. Correspondingly, the fourth device 140 may receive (6080) the response from the fifth device 150. Then, based on the indication of the at least one measurement result, the fourth device 140 may determine the at least one measurement result.

[0129] After the determining the at least one measurement result, the fourth device 140 transmits (6090) , to the third device 130, a request of the at least one measurement result. Correspondingly, the third device 130 may receive (6100) the request from the fourth device 140. Then, the third device 130 may determine the at least one measurement result based on the request of the at least one measurement result.

[0130] Alternatively or in addition, the third device 130 may determine whether an accuracy of one of the plurality of available measurement results reaches a third threshold. If the accuracy of the one of the plurality of available measurement results reaches the third threshold, the third device 130 may determine the one of the plurality of available measurement results as one of the at least one measurement result.

[0131] In some implementations, the third device 130 may determine whether a resolution of one of the plurality of available measurement results reaches a fourth threshold. If the resolution of the one of the plurality of available measurement results reaches the fourth threshold, the third device 130 may determine the one of the plurality of available measurement results as one of the at least one measurement result.

[0132] After determining the at least one measurement result to be reported, the third device 130 transmits (6110) , to the fourth device 140, the at least one measurement result. Correspondingly, the fourth device 140 receives (6120) the at least one measurement result from the third device 130.

[0133] In this way, fourth device 140 or the fifth device 150 may be able to indicate the third device 130 for the at least one measurement result to be reported. Thus, the load of the transmission of the measurement result may be reduced. The flexibility of the management of the measurement result reporting and the efficiency of the measurement result reporting may be improved.

[0134] Reference is made to FIG. 7, a signaling flow 700 of sensing management result inquiry in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. The example embodiments discussed with respect to FIG. 7 may be implementations of the example embodiments discussed with reference to FIG. 6. As illustrated, the FIG. 7 involves a receiving network 710 and a device implementing a SF (referred to as “SF” , for purpose of discussion) 720. The receiving network 710 may be an implementation of the fourth device 140 in FIG. 1B, and the SF 720 may be an implementation of the fifth device 150 in FIG. 1B.

[0135] In the example of FIG. 7, in a sensing or ISAC procedure, when receiving available measurement result from the sensing receiver, for example, a UE, the receiving network 710 may inquiry which measurement results are needed to the SF 720, a device implementing a network function or a centralized node. Then, the receiving network 710 may inform the sensing receiver based on the indication from the SF 720.

[0136] In some implementations, upon receiving a sensing measurement result availability report from the sensing receiver, the receiving network 710 may initiate the procedure by sending a sensing measurement result inquiry message to the SF 720. As illustrated, at 7010, the receiving network 710 may transmit the sensing measurement result inquiry message to the SF 720. In this case, the receiving network 710 may inform the SF 720 available measurement results upon receiving available measurement results from the sensing receiver. The sensing measurement result inquiry message may include some available measurement results from the sensing receiver.

[0137] In some embodiments, upon reception of the sensing measurement result inquiry message, the SF 720 may start to confirm required sensing measurement result from the sensing receiver or the receiving network 710 and reply with a sensing measurement result inquiry response message. The SF 720 may indicate the required sensing measurement results. As illustrated, at 7020, the SF 720 transmit the sensing measurement result inquiry response message to the receiving network 710. The response may include some required sensing measurement results.

[0138] In this way, the measurement results of the sensing signal reported to the receiving network 710 and the SF 720 may be reduced. Thus, the efficiency of the measurement result reporting may be improved.

[0139] As mentioned above, the sensing receiver may be involved in the example of FIG. 7. In some embodiments, the sensing receiver, e.g., a UE, may be used to report the available measurement result. The network device may indicate the UE to report which one of the available measurement result. Then, the UE may report the measurement based on the indication from the network device.

[0140] Reference is made to FIG. 8, which illustrates an example signaling flow 800 of management of measurement report in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. The example embodiments discussed with respect to FIG. 8 may be implementations of the example embodiments discussed with reference to FIG. 6. As illustrated, the FIG. 8 involves a UE 810, a network 820, and a device implementing a SF (referred to as “SF” , for purpose of discussion) 830. The UE 810 may be an implementation of the third device 130 in FIG. 1B, the network may be an implementation of the fourth deice 140 and the SF 830 may be an implementation of the fifth device 150 in FIG. 1B.

[0141] In some embodiments, the UE 810 may be implemented as a sensing receiver, for example, a receiving node. The SF 830 may be implemented as a centralized control node or a device implementing a further network function, for example, an LMF. The network 820 may be implemented as a network device by which the SF 830 communicate with the UE 810.

[0142] In the example of FIG. 8, when there are available measurement results or the measurement report is triggered by a periodicity, an event or a condition, considering very large data volume, the UE 810 may report which measurement results are available, i.e. the availability of some measurement results.

[0143] As illustrated, the UE 810 may transmit, to the network 820, a sensing measurement result availability report message. The message may include some available measurement results, for example, a distance resolution available for sensing, a speed resolution available for sensing, a location accuracy available for sensing, an angle available for sensing, a data size of each measurement result, a total data size, or data quality. For instance, if a measurement result is available, a parameter related to the measurement result in the sensing measurement result availability report message may be set to true.

[0144] In some implementations, upon receiving the available measurement results, the network 820 may indicate measurement results that need to be reported based on available measurement results from the UE 810. For example, at 8040, the network 820 may transmit a sensing measurement information request message to the UE 810. In this case, the network 820 may determine the measurement result to be reported independently. The message may include information of some required measurement results.

[0145] For example, among the available measurement results, the distance resolution request for sensing and the speed resolution request for sensing may be requested to be reported. For instance, if a measurement result is requested to be reported, a parameter related to the measurement result in the sensing measurement information request message may be set to true.

[0146] Alternatively or in addition, the network 820 may request the SF 830 for the measurement results to be reported. As illustrated, at 8020, the network 820 may transmit a sensing measurement result inquiry message including the available measurement results to the SF 830. Subsequently, at 8030, the SF 830 may transmit a sensing measurement result inquiry response message including information of the measurement result to be reported to the network 820. The procedures of 8020 and 8030 in the dashed box may be performed if the network request the SF 830 for the measurement results to be reported. In this case, after receiving information of the measurement result to be reported from the SF 830, the network 820 may transmit the sensing measurement information request message to the UE 810 at 8040.

[0147] After receiving the sensing measurement information request message, at 8050, the UE 810 may transmit a sensing measurement information response message including the measurement result to be reported to the network 820. For example, the message may include a distance resolution for sensing and a location accuracy for sensing. In some embodiments, the network 820 may transmit the measurement result in the sensing measurement information response message to the SF 830.

[0148] It is noted information of the measurement result mentioned herein are only for the purpose of illustration, without suggesting any limitation. Embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited here.

[0149] In this way, the UE 810 may be indicated to transmit a part of the available measurement results to the network 820. The load of the transmission of the measurement result may be reduced. Thus, the efficiency of the measurement result reporting may be improved.

[0150] In some implementations, the sensing receiver, for example, a UE, may select some measurement results to report based on requirements including measurement result accuracy reaching a threshold, or measurement result resolution reaching a threshold. In this case, if a measurement result does not meet requirements, the measurement result may not be reported. It is noted the requirements mentioned herein are only for the purpose of illustration, without suggesting any limitation. Embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited here.

[0151] In some embodiments, for narrowband (NB) -internet of thins (IoT) , when a public warning system (PWS) indication is received, the UE may receive system information block type 1 for narrowband (SIB1-NB) without waiting until the next system information modification period boundary. The UE may receive the system information block (SIB) message based on a schedulingInfoList indication. The procedure may consume too much time.

[0152] In this case, if the etws-Indication is included and the UE supports the earthquake and tsunami warning system (ETWS) , the UE may re-acquire the SystemInformationBlockType1 block immediately, i.e., without waiting until the next system information modification period boundary. If the schedulingInfoList indication indicates that a SystemInformationBlockType10 block is present, the UE may acquire the SystemInformationBlockType10 block.

[0153] In some embodiments, if the cmas-Indication is included and the UE supports the commercial mobile alert system (CMAS) , the UE may re-acquire the SystemInformationBlockType1 block immediately, i.e., without waiting until the next system information modification period boundary. If the schedulingInfoList indication indicates that a SystemInformationBlockType12 block is present, the UE may acquire the SystemInformationBlockType12 block.

[0154] Additionally, a paging message may include SIB scheduling information. Alternatively or in addition, the paging message may include a ETWS notification or a CMAS notification.

[0155] It is important to receive a ETWS primary notification, a ETWS secondary notification and a CMAS notification timely or fast. In some implementations, the ETWS primary notification, the ETWS secondary notification and the CMAS notification may be included in paging message and transmitted to the UE. Alternatively, in some implementations, only the ETWS primary notification may be included in paging message.

[0156] In some embodiments, the ETWS primary and scheduling information for system information may be included in paging message. In this case, the scheduling information may only include scheduling information for the ETWS secondary notification and the CMAS notification. In some implementations, the scheduling information may include scheduling information of all SIBs which need to be broadcast.

[0157] Alternatively, when the PWS arrives, the paging message may include the etws-Indication or the cmas-Indication and a scheduling information list for system information including the ETWS primary notification, the ETWS secondary notification and the CMAS notification.

[0158] In this case, when the UE receives the etws-Indication or cmas-Indication and the scheduling information list for system information included in paging message, if the scheduling information list indicates that the SIB including the ETWS notification and / or the CMAS notification is present, the UE may acquire the system information including the ETWS primary notification, the ETWS secondary notification and the CMAS notification.

[0159] The scheduling information list may only include scheduling information for system information including the ETWS primary notification, the ETWS secondary notification and the CMAS notification. Alternatively, the scheduling information list may include all scheduling information list for system information.

[0160] In some embodiments, when the UE receives the etws-Indication or the cmas-Indication, the UE may acquire the system information including the ETWS primary notification, the ETWS secondary notification and the CMAS notification in the narrowband physical downlink control channel (NPDCCH) search space for system information immediately.

[0161] In some implementations, an urgent indication or emergency indication may be used to indicate whether immediate receiving or acquiring is needed. The urgent indication or the emergency indication may be included in the paging message or direct indication information.

[0162] In this case, when the urgent indication or the emergency indication is set to true, enabled, or 1 and the UE receives the etws-Indication or the cmas-Indication, the UE may acquire the system information including the ETWS primary notification, the ETWS secondary notification and the CMAS notification in the NPDCCH search space for system information.

[0163] In some embodiments, when the urgent indication or the emergency indication is not included or is set to false, disabled, or 0 and the UE receives the etws-Indication or the cmas-Indication, the UE may re-acquires the SystemInformationBlockType1 block immediately, i.e., without waiting until the next system information modification period boundary. In this case, if the schedulingInfoList indication indicates that the system information including the ETWS primary notification, the ETWS secondary notification and / or the CMAS notification is present, the UE may acquire the system information including the ETWS primary notification, the ETWS secondary notification and / or the CMAS notification.

[0164] In this way, the time or delay for receiving or acquiring the PWS indication may be reduced. Thus, the effectiveness of the PWS indication may be improved. The security based on PWS indication is ensured.

[0165] FIG. 9 illustrates a flowchart of a communication method 900 implemented at a first device in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussion, the method 900 will be described from the perspective of the first device 110 in FIG. 1A.

[0179] In some example embodiments, the indication information may include at least one of: an identification of at least one of the first device, a transmitter of the sensing signal, or a receiver of the sensing signal, time information for suspending the transmission of the at least part of the measurement result, the time information indicating one or more of time periods on which the transmission of the at least part of the measurement result is suspended, or suspending information indicating at least one of: the at least part of the measurement result to be suspended, or at least a part of one or more measurement results to be suspended.

[0180] In some example embodiments, the second device 120 may determine whether to an accuracy of a measurement result of the sensing signal reaches a first threshold. In accordance with a determination that the accuracy of the measurement result reaches the first threshold, the second device 120 may transmit the request to the first device.

[0181] In some example embodiments, the second device 120 may determine whether to an amount of a measurement result of the sensing signal reaches a second threshold. In accordance with a determination that the amount of the measurement result reaches the second threshold, the second device 120 may transmit the request to the first device.

[0182] In some example embodiments, the second device 120 may receive, from the first device, a response to the request including an indication indicating whether a transmission of at least a part of a measurement result of the sensing signal to the second device is suspended.

[0185] In some example embodiments, the first device may include at least one of: a terminal device, or a network device, and the second device may include at least one of: a terminal device, a network device, or a device implementing a sensing function.

[0186] FIG. 11 illustrates a flowchart of a communication method 1100 implemented at a third device in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussion, the method 1100 will be described from the perspective of the third device 130 in FIG. 1B.

[0187] At block 1110, the third device 130 determines at least one measurement result to be reported from a plurality of available measurement results based on at least one of: a request for the at least one measurement result or at least one of an accuracy or resolutions of the plurality of available measurement results, the plurality of available measurement results being associated with a sensing signal.

[0188] At block 1120, the third device 130 transmits, to the fourth device, the at least one measurement result.

[0189] In some example embodiments, the third device 130 may transmit, to a fourth device, information of the plurality of available measurement results; receive, from the fourth device, a request for the at least one measurement result, the at least one measurement result being determined from the plurality of available measurement results.

[0190] In some example embodiments, the information of the plurality of available measurement results indicates at least one of: a distance resolution, a speed resolution, a location accuracy, an angle, a data size, or data quality.

[0191] In some example embodiments, the third device 130 may determine whether an accuracy of one of the plurality of available measurement results is larger than or equal to a third threshold. In accordance with a determination that the accuracy of the one of the plurality of available measurement results is larger than or equal to the third threshold, the third device 130 may determine the one of the plurality of available measurement results as one of the at least one measurement result.

[0192] In some example embodiments, the third device 130 may determine whether a resolution of one of the plurality of available measurement results is larger than or equal to a fourth threshold; in accordance with a determination that the resolution of the one of the plurality of available measurement results is larger than or equal to the fourth threshold, determine the one of the plurality of available measurement results as one of the at least one measurement result.

[0193] In some example embodiments, the third device may include a terminal device, the fourth device may include a network device.

[0194] FIG. 12 illustrates a flowchart of a communication method 1200 implemented at a fourth device in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussion, the method 1200 will be described from the perspective of the fourth device 140 in FIG. 1B.

[0195] At block 1210, the fourth device 140 receives, from a third device, information of a plurality of available measurement results, the plurality of measurement results being associated with a sensing signal .

[0196] At block 1220, the fourth device 140 determines at least one measurement result from the plurality of available measurement results based on the information of the plurality of available measurement results.

[0197] At block 1230, the fourth device 140 transmits, to the third device, a request of the at least one measurement result.

[0198] At block 1240, the fourth device 140 receives, from the third device, the at least one measurement result.
