[0128] Principles and implementations of the present disclosure will be described in detail below with reference to the figures.

[0129] FIG. 1A, FIG. 1B and FIG. 1C illustrate schematic diagrams of an example communication environment 100 in which example embodiments of the present disclosure can be implemented. In the communication environment 100, a plurality of communication devices, including a terminal device 110 and a network device 120, can communicate with each other.

[0130] In the example of FIG. 1A, FIG. 1B or FIG. 1C, the terminal device 110 may be a UE and the network device 120 may be a base station serving the UE. The serving area of the network device 120 may be called a cell 101 and / or a cell 102.

[0131] As shown in FIG. 1B, the network device 120 may communicate with the terminal device 110 via at least one of the TRPs / panels 130-1, 130-2, 130-3 and 130-4. In the following text, the TRP / panel 130-1 may be also referred to as the first TRP / panel, the TRP / panel 130-2 may be also referred to as the second TRP / panel, the TRP / panel 130-3 may be also referred to as the third TRP / panel and the TRP / panel 130-4 may be also referred to as the fourth TRP / panel. Each of the TRPs / panels 130 may provide a plurality of beams for communication with the terminal device 110. It is noted that the number of TRPs / panels shown in FIG. 1B is only an example not limitation.

[0132] For example, the network device 120 may be configured with at least one of four TRPs / panels 130-1, 130-2, 130-3 and 130-4 (collectively referred to as TRPs 130 or individually referred to as TRP 130) . It is to be understood that the number of network devices, terminal devices and TRPs as shown in FIG. 1B is only for the purpose of illustration without suggesting any limitations to the present disclosure. The network 100 may include any suitable number of devices adapted for implementing embodiments of the present disclosure. Although not shown, it would be appreciated that one or more additional devices may be located in the cell 101 and / or the cell 102, and one or more additional cells may be deployed in the communication environment 100. It is noted that although illustrated as a network device, the network device 120 may be another device than a network device. Although illustrated as a terminal device, the terminal device 110 may be other device than a terminal device. The term “TRP” refers to an antenna array (with one or more antenna elements) available to the network device located at a specific geographical location. For example, a network device may be coupled with multiple TRPs in different geographical locations to achieve better coverage. For another example, a network device may be implemented with multiple panels or multiple groups of antenna ports / elements in same geographical location. It is to be understood that the TRP can also be referred to as a “panel” , which also refers to an antenna array (with one or more antenna elements) or a group of antennas.

[0133] In the specific example of communication environment 100, a direction from the terminal device 110 to the network device 120 is referred to as uplink, while a direction from the network device 120 to the terminal device 110 is referred to as a downlink. Further, MIMO is supported in the communication environment 100. For example, the network device 120 and the terminal device 110 may communicate with each other via different beams to enable a directional communication. For another example, the network device 120 and the terminal device 110 may communicate with each other based on a plurality of antenna ports and / or a plurality of beams and / or a plurality of TCI states (e.g., a plurality of downlink TCI states and / or a plurality of joint TCI states and / or a plurality of uplink TCI states) . In downlink, the network device 120 is a transmitting (TX) device (or a transmitter) and the terminal device 110 is a receiving (RX) device (or a receiver) . In downlink, the network device 120 may transmit downlink transmission to the terminal device 110 via one or more beams or one or more TCI states (or downlink TCI states or joint TCI states) . For example, as illustrated in FIG. 1C, the network device 120 transmits downlink transmission to the terminal device 110 via a plurality of beams and / or a plurality of TCI states (e.g., a plurality of downlink TCI states and / or a plurality of joint TCI states) . Correspondingly, in uplink, the network device 120 is a RX device (or a receiver) and the terminal device 110 is a TX device (or a transmitter) . In uplink, the terminal device 110 may transmit uplink transmission to the network device 120 via one or more beams or one or more TCI states (or uplink TCI states or joint TCI states) . For example, as illustrated in FIG. 1C, the terminal device 110 transmits uplink transmission to the network device 120 via a plurality of beams and / or a plurality of TCI states (e.g., a plurality of uplink TCI states and / or a plurality of joint TCI states) .

[0134] It is to be understood that the number of devices and their connections shown in FIG. 1A, FIG. 1B or FIG. 1C are only for the purpose of illustration without suggesting any limitation. The communication environment 100 may include any suitable number of devices configured to implementing example embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0135] In the following, for the purpose of illustration, some example embodiments are described with the terminal device 110 operating as a UE and the network device 120 operating as a base station. However, in some example embodiments, operations described in connection with a terminal device may be implemented at a network device or other device, and operations described in connection with a network device may be implemented at a terminal device or other device.

[0136] In some example embodiments, if the terminal device 110 is a UE and the network device 120 is a gNB or base station, a direction from the network device 120 to the terminal device 110 is referred to as a downlink (DL) , while a direction from the terminal device 110 to the network device 120 is referred to as an uplink (UL) . In DL, the network device 120 is a transmitting (TX) device (or a transmitter) and the terminal device 110 is a receiving (RX) device (or a receiver) . In UL, the terminal device 110 is a TX device (or a transmitter) and the network device 120 is a RX device (or a receiver) .

[0137] In some example embodiments, the network device 120 may send an RS to the terminal device 110 in a DL. Similarly, the terminal device 110 may transmit an RS to the network device 120 in a UL) . Generally speaking, an RS is a signal sequence (also referred to as “RS sequence” ) that is known by both the network device 120 and the terminal devices 110. For example, an RS sequence may be generated and transmitted by the network device 120 based on a certain rule and the terminal device 110 may deduce the RS sequence based on the same rule. For another example, an RS sequence may be generated and transmitted by the terminal device 110 based on a certain rule and the network device 120 may deduce the RS sequence based on the same rule. Examples of the RS may include but are not limited to downlink or uplink Demodulation Reference Signal (DMRS) , CSI-RS, SRS, Phase Tracking Reference Signal (PTRS) , Tracking Reference Signal (TRS) , fine time-frequency TRS, CSI-RS for tracking, Positioning Reference Signal (PRS) and so on.

[0138] As used herein, beam refers to at least one of: an RS (e.g., CSI-RS, SSB, SRS, an RS resource, TCI state, or RS of a QCL type (e.g., typeA, typeB, typeC, typeD) , pathloss reference RS, uplink power control (parameter) ; Beam ID refers to CRI or SSBRI, TCI state ID, pathloss reference RS ID, or uplink power control ID.

[0139] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 and the network device 120 may communicate with each other via a channel such as a wireless communication channel on an air interface (e.g., Uu interface) . The wireless communication channel may comprise a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) , a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) , a physical random-access channel (PRACH) , a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) , a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) and a physical broadcast channel (PBCH) . Of course, any other suitable channels are also feasible.

[0140] In the context of the present disclosure, some example embodiments are discussed by using cell (s) . However, the solution discussed herein may be applied to scenarios related to component carrier (s) (CC (s) ) , bandwidth part (s) (BWP (s) ) and / or event (s) . That is, all the embodiments discussed with regards to cell (s) are applicable to the scenarios related to CC (s) , BWP (s) , event (s) . Merely for brevity, the same or similar contents are omitted herein.

[0141] In some embodiments, one DCI may be applied to indicate multiple precoders (e.g., for multiple subbands) , the number of precoder indication fields may be fixed (or configured by RRC) , and the number of subbands for one transmission may depend on frequency domain resource allocation (e.g., dynamically) .

[0171] According to embodiments of the present disclosure, the SRS-related configuration may be aligned with (or same as) the PRG-related configuration. The details about the alignment operations will be discussed below.

[0172] In some embodiments, the reference point for the at least one SRS resource (and / or for at least one parameter in the first set of parameters and / or the first frequency domain position and / or Y1) and the reference point for the at least one UL PRG (and / or the at least one parameter in the second set of parameters and / or the second frequency domain position and / or X) may be same.

[0173] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may expect that the first set of parameters is configured to be aligned with (or same as) the second set of parameters by the network device 120. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may be expected or may expect that the first frequency domain position and the second frequency domain position are aligned with (or same as) the first set of parameters (e.g., associated with the at least one SRS resource) configured by the network device 120 and / or based on the second set of parameters (e.g., associated with uplink subband transmission or uplink PRG) configured by the network device 120.

[0174] Alternatively, in some other embodiments, at least one parameter in the first set of parameters and / or the first frequency domain position may be determined or adjusted (220) to be aligned with (or same as) at least one parameter in the second set of parameters and / or the second frequency domain position by the terminal device 110.

[0175] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine or adjust at least one parameter in the first set of parameters and / or the first frequency domain position to be aligned with (or same as) at least one parameter in the second set of parameters and / or the second frequency domain position.

[0176] In some embodiments, the first frequency domain position may be the same as or may be based on a multiple of one or more of the following: the second size of uplink PRG (e.g., P1) , the second size of RBG, the third size of downlink subband, value of Z, or a size of 4 resource blocks.

[0178] Alternatively, in some embodiments, a first frequency domain position (e.g., a starting position in frequency domain or an ending position in frequency domain or index of the first RB or index of the lowest RB or index of the last RB or index of the highest RB) for a first multiple of SRS subbands may be aligned with (or same as) a frequency domain position of a second multiple of one or more of the following: the second size of uplink PRG, the second size of RBG, the third size of downlink subband, value of Z, or the size of 4 resource blocks.

[0179] In some embodiments, the first frequency domain position (e.g., associated with at least one SRS resource) may be determined based on one or more of the following: the second frequency domain position, a starting frequency domain position of at least one uplink PRG, a starting frequency domain position of a reference uplink PRG, a starting frequency domain position of a reference uplink RBG, a starting frequency domain position of a reference uplink subband, a third set of parameters (e.g., frequency domain parameter) for the at least one SRS resource or a network-configured starting frequency domain position of the at least one SRS resource (e.g., represented as nshift) .

[0181] In some embodiments, the at least one configuration may comprise a frequency domain parameter of the at least one SRS resource, and the terminal device 110 may determine, based on at least one parameter in the second set of parameters, a frequency domain adjustment (e.g., represented as nadjust) to be applied for determining the frequency domain position (e.g., the first frequency domain position) for the at least one SRS resource.

[0182] In some embodiments, in accordance with a determination that a range of frequency domain resource for at least one SRS subband overlapping with non-active BWP or exceeding a starting position of the active BWP or exceeding an ending position of the active BWP, the terminal device 110 may disable transmitting or may drop the transmission of the at least one SRS subband on the range of frequency domain resource or truncate at least part of an SRS sequence for the at least one SRS subband.

[0183] More embodiments about how to align (or determine) the SRS-related configuration (e.g., the first set of parameters) with the PRG-related configuration (e.g., the second set of parameters) will be discussed below.

[0246] In some embodiments, the second size of UL PRG may be no less than the size of SRS subband. In some embodiments, if the size of SRS subband is larger than the UL PRG, the size of SRS subband may be adjusted based on the second size of UL PRG, e.g., with the value of second size of UL PRG or the maximum available no larger than the second size of UL PRG. In this way, a better channel measurement (PRG specific precoder determination) for each UL PRG may be achieved.

[0247] Below is an example of SRS bandwidth configuration. In some embodiments, the subset or all of rows and / or the subset or all of columns in the following table may be applied for SRS and / or for UL PRG. In some embodiments, the total size of SRS MSRSmay be based on the first row or the third row (e.g., adjusted) . In some embodiments, the size of SRS subband may be based on the second row or the fourth row (e.g., adjusted) .

[0249] In some embodiments, the first set of parameters or the first frequency domain position associated with the at least one SRS resource may be determined based on the at least one first configuration. In some embodiments, the network device 120 may transmit (240-1) a DCI for scheduling at least one uplink transmission to the terminal device 110. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may receive (240-1) the DCI accordingly. In some embodiments, the DCI may comprise an indicator of the at least one SRS resource. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the second set of parameters or the second frequency domain position based on the first set of parameters (or the first frequency domain position) and may perform (260-1) the at least one uplink transmission based on the second set of parameters. In some embodiments, the network device 120 may receive (260-2) the at least one uplink transmission accordingly.

[0250] In some other embodiments, the network device 120 may transmit (240-1) a DCI for scheduling at least one uplink transmission to the terminal device 110, and the terminal device 110 may receive (240-1) the DCI accordingly. In some embodiments, the DCI may comprise frequency domain resource allocation information for the at least one uplink transmission. In some embodiments, a unit (or a granularity) of the frequency domain resource allocation information may be based on one or more of the following: the first set of parameters, the first frequency resource for the at least one SRS resource, a second size of uplink PRG, 4 (e.g., resource blocks) or a multiple of 4 (e.g., resource blocks) . In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may perform (260-1) the at least one uplink transmission based on the second set of parameters. In some embodiments, the network device 120 may receive (260-2) the at least one uplink transmission accordingly.

[0251] In some other embodiments, the terminal device 110 may receive at least one indication of at least one SRS resource (or at least one SRS resource set) in a DCI. In some embodiments, the DCI may comprise information (e.g., more than one field for precoding information indication) for scheduling at least one PUSCH. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine one or more of: whether the PUSCH transmission is wideband level or subband level, whether the PUSCH transmission is wideband uplink transmission or subband uplink transmission, whether the number of precoders for one PUSCH transmission occasion in the whole PUSCH frequency domain resource is 1 or more than 1, the second size of UL PRG, the second frequency domain position, the second set of parameters, the boundary of UL PRG, or frequency domain position of UL PRG based on at least one parameter corresponding to the at least one SRS resource (or at least one SRS resource set) . In some embodiments, the terminal device may transmit the at least one PUSCH based on the at least one indication and the determined one or more of: whether the PUSCH transmission is wideband level or subband level, whether the PUSCH transmission is wideband uplink transmission or subband uplink transmission, whether the number of precoders for one PUSCH transmission occasion in the whole PUSCH frequency domain resource is 1 or more than 1, the second size of UL PRG, the second frequency domain position, the second set of parameters, the boundary of UL PRG, or frequency position of UL PRG (e.g., based on at least one parameter corresponding to the at least one SRS resource (or at least one SRS resource set) ) .

[0252] In some other embodiments, the information for scheduling (e.g., in DCI) (e.g., for PUSCH) may comprise frequency domain resource allocation for the at least one PUSCH. In some embodiments, the frequency domain resource allocation (or the unit (or granularity) of the frequency domain resource allocation) may be based on the at least one parameter for the corresponding at least one SRS resource (or the first set of parameters or the first frequency domain position or the first frequency range) . In some embodiments, the frequency domain resource allocation (or the unit (or granularity) of the frequency domain resource allocation) may be based on the frequency domain position or total size of band for the at least one SRS resource or the frequency domain position or total frequency range of UL PRG (e.g., determined based on the at least one parameter for the at least one SRS resource) .

[0253] In some other embodiments, the frequency domain resource allocation (or the unit (or granularity) of the frequency domain resource allocation) may be based on unit (or granularity) of UL PRG or unit (or granularity) of SRS subband or size of SRS subband or size of UL PRG or a multiple of 4 or 4 or unit of a multiple of 4.

[0254] In some embodiments, the third size of subband (e.g., of the third type and / or for downlink) or the number of PRBs in one subband of the third type may be represented as In some embodiments, one subband of the third type may be RBs or PRBs or contiguous RBs or contiguous PRBs (for example, in frequency domain) . In some embodiments,  may be a positive integer. For example,  For example,  For example,  may be at least one of {4, 8, 16, 32} . In some embodiments,  may be based on the value of NBWP1 (e.g., number of RBs for downlink BWP) . In some embodiments, if 24≤NBWP1≤72,  may be 4 or 8. For example,  may be configured to be 4 or 8 based on one higher layer parameter for subband of the third type. In some embodiments, if 73≤NBWP1≤144,  may be 8 or 16. For example,  may be configured to be 8 or 16 based on the higher layer parameter for subband of the third type. In some embodiments, if 145≤NBWP1≤275 or 145≤NBWP1≤Nmax, may be 16 or 32. For example,  may be configured to be 16 or 32 based on the higher layer parameter for subband of the third type.

[0255] In some embodiments, the first size of subband (e.g., of the first type and / or for SRS) or the number of PRBs in one subband of the first type may be represented as In some embodiments, one subband of the first type may be RBs or PRBs or contiguous RBs or contiguous PRBs (for example, in frequency domain) . In some embodiments,  may be a positive integer. For example,  For example,  For example,  In some embodiments,  may be a multiple of 4. For example,  may be at least one of {4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60, 64, 68, 72, 76, 80, 84, 88, 92, 96, 104, 108, 112, 120, 128, 132, 136, 144, 152, 160, 168, 176, 184, 192, 208, 216, 224, 240, 256, 264, 272} .

[0256] In some embodiments, the second size of subband (e.g., of the second type and / or for uplink and / or for PUSCH) and / or the second size of UL PRG or the number of PRBs in one subband of the second type may be represented as In some embodiments, one subband of the second type may be RBs or PRBs or contiguous RBs or contiguous PRBs (for example, in frequency domain) .

[0257] In some embodiments, the second size of subband and / or the second size of UL PRG may be based on one or more of: the first size of subband, the third size of subband, the size of downlink BWP, or the size of uplink BWP.

[0258] In some embodiments, one or more restriction rules may be configured for the SRS transmission.

[0259] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may receive at least one configuration for at least one SRS resource from a network device 120. In some embodiments, the at least one configuration may comprise at least one SRS subband and / or a restriction rule. In some embodiments, the restriction rule may comprise one or more of the following: an indicator of at least one restricted subband, an indicator of at least one restricted frequency range, an indicator of at least one restricted frequency position index, an indicator of at least one restricted counter value of SRS transmission (or SRS transmission occasion) or an indicator of at least one restricted index of SRS transmission occasion. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may perform (230-1) at least one SRS transmission based on the at least one configuration. In some embodiments, the network device 120 may receive (230-2) the at least one SRS transmission accordingly.

[0260] In some embodiments, in accordance with a determination that an SRS subband or an SRS transmission occasion fulfils the restriction rule, the terminal device 110 may drop the at least one SRS transmission on the at least one SRS subband or at least one the SRS transmission occasion.

[0261] In some embodiments, in accordance with a determination that an SRS subband or an SRS transmission occasion fulfils the restriction rule, the terminal device 110 may ignore the SRS subband or the SRS transmission occasion. In some embodiments, in accordance with a determination that an SRS subband or an SRS transmission occasion fulfils the restriction rule, the terminal device 110 may replace (or recalculate) the SRS subband or the SRS transmission occasion with a next SRS subband (or a next available SRS subband) or a next SRS transmission occasion (or a next available SRS transmission occasion) .

[0262] In some embodiments, a new hopping pattern may be used. In operation, the terminal device 110 may receive at least one configuration for at least one SRS resource from a network device 120 from a network device 120. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may perform, based on the at least one configuration, at least one SRS transmission according to a hopping pattern where the terminal device 110 performs hopping based on indexes of uplink PRGs.

[0263] In some embodiments, the at least one configuration may comprise the hopping pattern. In some embodiments, the hopping pattern indicates the terminal device 110 to perform the at least one SRS transmission based on the order of transmission on SRS subbands within the frequency resource of one uplink PRG firstly, and then transmission on SRS subbands across frequency resources of UL PRGs.

[0264] In some embodiments, the at least one configuration (such as, via RRC, MAC CE, or DCI) may also comprise one or more of: restriction of SRS subbands (e.g., indexes of SRS subbands counted in order of lowest to highest frequency domain position) , restriction of at least one frequency range, restriction of values of nb, restriction of values of nSRS for the at least one SRS resource.

[0265] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may receive the at least one configuration, and the terminal device may transmit the SRS based on the at least one restriction in the at least one configuration.

[0266] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may drop the SRS subband (or one SRS transmission occasion) or not transmit the SRS subband (or the one SRS transmission occasion) if the determined SRS subband is comprised in (or overlapped with or related to) the at least one restriction, otherwise, the terminal device may transmit the SRS subband (or the SRS transmission occasion) .

[0267] In some embodiments, if the determined SRS subband is comprised in (or overlapped with or related to) the at least one restriction, the terminal device may ignore the SRS subband (or one SRS transmission occasion) , and / or the terminal device 110 may further determine another SRS subband (e.g., the first one which is not comprised in or not overlapped with or not related to the at least one restriction) , and transmit the another SRS subband. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine another SRS subband by applying the value of nb+1 or nSRS+1.

[0268] In some embodiments, as illustrated in FIG. 5, a second hopping pattern for the SRS subbands may be determined based on order of within a range of UL PRG firstly, and then hopping across frequency ranges of UL PRGs.

[0269] In some embodiments, the at least one configuration may comprise a first type of hopping pattern (e.g., legacy one) or a second type of hopping pattern for SRS transmission. In some embodiments, the SRS subbands within a UL PRG is continuously hopped. In this way, the channel measurement for the UL PRG may be improved.

[0270] In some embodiments, a two-stage DCI scheduling may be supported (e.g., for subband uplink transmission. Specifically, in some embodiments, the network device 120 may transmit (240-1) a first DCI to the terminal device 110, and the terminal device 110 may receive (240-1) the first DCI accordingly. In some embodiments, the first DCI may comprise at least one indication, and the at least one indication indicates one or more of the following: a subset of precoders, a starting index of a precoder, a number of precoders for uplink transmission, a number of precoding information fields in a second DCI, whether to apply subband uplink transmission or wideband uplink transmission, a frequency range for uplink transmission, or at least one restriction rule for SRS subband or SRS transmission occasions. In some embodiments, the first DCI may be a downlink grant DCI or an uplink grant DCI.

[0271] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may transmit an acknowledgement of the first DCI to the network device 120 via a PUCCH or a PUSCH. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may apply at least one indication (e.g., in the first DCI) from a first slot after a duration from the last symbol of PUCCH or PUSCH carrying the acknowledgement corresponding to the first DCI (and / or corresponding to the transport block (s) scheduled by the first DCI) . In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may apply the first at least one indication (e.g., in the first DCI) after a duration from a last symbol of a PDCCH reception with a DCI format scheduling a PUSCH transmission with a same Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest (HARQ) process number as for the transmission of the PUSCH (e.g., scheduled by the first DCI) and having a toggled new data indicator (NDI) field value. In some embodiments, the duration may be a number of symbols. In some embodiments, the number may be larger than or equal to 1 and less than or equal to 336. In some embodiments, the duration may be one or more of: 4, 7, 28 symbols.

[0272] Next, in some embodiments, the network device 120 may transmit (250-1) a second DCI for scheduling of at least one PUSCH transmission or at least one SRS transmission, and the terminal device 110 may receive (250-2) the second DCI accordingly, where the second DCI comprises at least one transmission parameter associated with the at least one PUSCH transmission or the at least one SRS transmission, where the at least one transmission parameter is based on the at least one indication. In some embodiments, the second DCI may be an uplink grant DCI.
