[0003] DESCRIPTION LIQUID SPRAYING SYSTEM FOR DOMESTIC AND AGRICULTURAL USE

[0004] FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0005] The invention relates to the field of human needs and more specifically to the field of life-saving and firefighting. More particularly, it relates to the field of spraying, application of liquids or other fluid materials to surfaces in general. More specifically, it relates to the field of land-based firefighting vehicles. More particularly, it relates to a portable liquid spraying system, which can be used as a spraying and firefighting means, both for domestic and agricultural use.

[0006] BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0007] The liquid spraying system for domestic and agricultural use disclosed in the present invention has not been disclosed in the prior art.

[0008] Forest fires constitute a serious threat to forest ecosystems, the environment and society, causing tremendous destruction each year, particularly in Mediterranean countries such as Greece. Every year, numerous fires destroy vast areas of trees, shrubs, grass and vegetation cover in general, resulting in habitat destruction and loss of flora and fauna. At the same time, fires endanger the lives of residents, as well as firefighters who assist in extinguishing them, while causing the destruction of property and infrastructure. A significant number of these fires have been proven to be preventable or immediately extinguishable, if small-scale means were available, close to the initial fire sources. Often, thetopography and lack of forest roads hinder the access of fire vehicles to the fire source. This forces firefighting forces to cover great distances on foot or use aerial means, which requires time. At the same time, the distance of the central source of a fire from the nearest fire station plays a decisive role in response time. In remote areas, the arrival of firefighting forces may be significantly delayed.

[0009] It is thus an object of the present invention to advantageously address the aforementioned disadvantages and deficiencies of the prior art by proposing a liquid spraying system for domestic and agricultural use, A further object of the present invention is to provide a liquid spraying system for domestic and agricultural use, which creates a precipitation and spraying zone.

[0010] A further object of the present invention is to provide a liquid spraying system for domestic and agricultural use, which consists of at least two telescopic shafts, which can be extended to great height to achieve large-scale spraying.

[0011] A further object of the invention is the presentation of a liquid spraying system for domestic and agricultural use, which has multiple injectors (nozzles), which are arranged at an angle, so as to achieve spraying around its perimeter.

[0012] An advantage of the invention is the fact that it creates a large spraying radius of the respective liquid, ensuring that spraying is done from above and consequently reducing the number of injectors required to effectively cover a surface.

[0013] Another object of the invention is to provide a liquid spraying system for domestic and agricultural use, which is easily transportable, so that it can be utilized multiple times, wherever there is such need.GR2026 / 000003 i

[0014] 3

[0015] An advantage of the invention presented here is also that it requires no maintenance of any kind, while it can operate even without permanent human presence. From the moment the pump providing liquid to the system is activated and provided that the respective inlet valve is open, the system immediately starts operating and spraying, due to the respective liquid pressure.

[0016] An additional advantage of the invention is that it can have multiple and different uses. It can therefore be used both as a fire protection system, covering houses and other buildings, as well as a system that can be utilized in agricultural work, as a spraying machine. Thanks to the fact that it can be supplied with different liquids, such as water, fire retardant or fertilizer, among others, it becomes absolutely flexible in term s of its use.

[0017] These and other objects, characteristics and advantages of the invention will become apparent in the following detailed description.

[0018] BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0019] The invention will become apparent to those skilled in the art with reference to the accompanying drawings in which it is illustrated in an indicative, non-limiting manner.

[0023] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0024] Referring now to the accompanying drawings, we will describe indicative applications of the liquid system for domestic and agricultural use, so that its mode of operation, as well as its innovative technical characteristics, become apparent.

[0025] The liquid spraying system for domestic and agricultural use of the invention consists of a liquid collection tank (1), Fig. 1 (a), which has a liquid inlet (2) and a separate liquid outlet (3). The control of liquid flow, both at the inlet (2) and at the outlet (3) is carried out through corresponding valves (4), Fig. 1 (b), which exist on the liquid collection tank (1).

[0026] The liquid collection tank (1 ) is placed on a transport base (5), which preferably has wheels (6), so that it can be easily transported from point to point. Alternatively, the transport base (5) together with the rest of the system, of which it forms part, can be mounted hanging on walls or balconies.

[0027] The liquid collection tank (1) on its upper side has an opening (7) to which a liquid delivery conduit (8) is fitted. The liquid delivery conduit (8) is preferably telescopically extendable, so as to extend to great height. With its upward extension it achieves spraying from great height, so that a larger surface is covered.

[0028] Due to the fact that the liquid delivery conduit (8) is telescopic and because there must be no leaks during the extension of the liquid delivery conduit (8), at the uppermost point of each section (9) of the conduit an internal sealing component (10) is placed, such as a gasket, so as to prevent liquid leakage. At the same time, in this way the liquid pressure is maintained, which is essentially what telescopically extends the liquid delivery conduit (8) upward.•’CT / GR2026 / 000G03

[0029] The sections (9) of the liquid delivery conduit (8) are at least two. Preferably, but not restrictively, the sections (9) of the liquid delivery conduit (8) are three.

[0030] The support of the liquid delivery conduit (8) and the liquid collection tank (1) on the transport base (5) is preferably done using struts (11) that connect the liquid delivery conduit (8) with the handles (12) of the transport base (5). The weight of the liquid collection tank (I), together with the liquid that may exist in its interior, functions as a counterweight during transport of the system.

[0031] To achieve the necessary pressure, which will create the necessary spraying, the system is connected to an external pump, which is connected to the liquid inlet (2). When therefore the pump is put into operation and the valve (4) at the liquid inlet (2) is opened, the liquid is delivered to the liquid delivery conduit (8), extending its sections (9) and initiating spraying.

[0032] At the uppermost section (9) of the liquid delivery conduit (8) an injector (13) is applied for spraying the liquid. The injector (

[0033]

[0034] 13) has multiple holes (14), Fig. 2, from which the liquid is sprayed.

[0035] Preferably, the injector (13) has a rotating head, so that it can be placed at different angles, depending on the requirements of the occasion. Preferably, the injector (13) has a conical shape, with the holes (14) arranged in lines on the perimeter of the cone.

[0036] When spraying is completed, stopping the pump operation leads to the successive withdrawal of one section (9) of the liquid delivery conduit (8) inside the other. At the same time, there is the possibility, if this is desired, to open the valve (4) at the liquid outlet (3) so as to extract an’CT / GR2026 / 000003

[0038] amount of liquid, thus facilitating the transport of the system to another point, if this is required.

[0039] In an alternative application of the invention, the system may have at least one additional liquid inlet, from which a second liquid can be delivered, which is mixed within the liquid collection tank (1) with the liquid entering from the liquid inlet (2). For example, water can thus be mixed with water-soluble pesticide or water with fire retardant, depending on the function performed by the system.

[0040] In a further alternative application of the invention, a meter can be connected to the liquid inlet (2), so that the liquid delivered to the liquid collection tank (1) can be measured.

[0041] In yet another alternative application of the invention, the system may have solenoid valves, both at the inlet (2) and at the outlet (3) of the liquid, so as to allow remote control of the system and in combination with remote operation of the pump, a user can activate and deactivate it from a distance, when this is required.

[0042] At this point it is noted that the description of t he invention has been made with reference to indicative examples of application and implementation, to which it is not limited. Therefore, any change or modification concerning the materials used, the dimensions, the shape and morphology of the system, provided that they do not constitute a new inventive step at the state of the art and do not contribute to the evolution of what is already known, are considered to be included in the purposes and intenti ons of the present invention.
