[0002] DESCRIPTION

[0003] The present patent application for industrial invention relates to a locking rod for cremone bolt window frames.

[0004] The field of reference is that of window frames, and particularly the assembly of casements that are obtained by connecting profiles in the form of a frame.

[0005] The profiles of the prior art that are used in the construction of a cremone bolt window frame are usually provided with a longitudinal channel with C-shaped cross-section that defines two undercut portions. Specifically, the longitudinal channels of such profiles are defined by a base wall, two side walls projecting from the base wall, and two opposite longitudinal edges projecting perpendicularly from the side walls and facing each other. The longitudinal edges define a longitudinal opening with width smaller than the distance between the side walls of the profile, so that, in cross section, the longitudinal channel of the profile has a C-shaped profile with two undercut portions under the longitudinal edges.

[0006] The longitudinal channel of each profile is opened at both ends by respective axial openings. In view of the above, the longitudinal channel of the profile can be accessed from the axial openings and from the longitudinal opening defined by the two longitudinal edges.

[0007] In the field of window frames, locking and opening assemblies with cremone bolt are known, which comprise a handle connected to two locking rods that are slidingly inserted in the longitudinal channels of the profiles of the casement of the window frame.

[0008] Such a handle comprises a sprocket-rack mechanism. The sprocket is connected to a handle. The rack is connected to the locking rods that slide in the longitudinal channels of the casement profiles. Thus, a rotary motion of the handle results in a simultaneous translation of the locking rods housed in the longitudinal channel of the profile in opposite direction.Therefore, the locking rods are shaped and dimensioned in such a way to slide in the longitudinal channels of the profiles.

[0009] In the case when the locking rods have a width greater than the width of the longitudinal opening of the profiles, the locking rods must be inserted axially in the longitudinal channels of the profiles, that is to say, the locking rods must be inserted through the axial openings of the profiles.

[0010] If the casement is already assembled, consecutive profiles are connected to each other in correspondence of the casement comers and, as a result, the axial openings of the profiles are obstructed. Therefore, in order to insert the locking rods into the longitudinal channels of the profiles, notches need to be made at the casement comers in such a way to provide access to the axial openings of the profiles.

[0011] Obviously, such a procedure is arduous and complicated, and requires the use of specialized labor and special tools to make the notches, which, moreover, may affect the aesthetics of the window casement.

[0012] Conversely, the locking rods that have a lower width than the longitudinal opening of the profiles can be also used when the two profiles to be connected have already been installed and therefore their axial openings are not accessible.

[0021] Therefore, the use of such locking rods requires to keep a stock of locking rods of different sizes for profiles provided with longitudinal channels of various widths, resulting in high costs in terms of stock management.

[0022] The purpose of the present invention is to overcome the drawbacks of the prior art by providing a locking rod for cremone bolt window frames that is versatile and installable in any window casement, without being strictly constrained to the dimensions of the longitudinal channel wherein it is to be inserted.

[0023] A further purpose is to provide a locking rod for cremone bolt window frames that is inexpensive, simple and quick to make, and easy to install.

At this point, the locking rod (100) is oscillated inward into the longitudinal channel (10) of the profile, bringing the flexible wing (31 ) of the cover into contact with the first longitudinal edge (13a) of the profile. As a result, the flexible wing (31) of the cover bends elastically until it overrides the first longitudinal edge (13a) of the profile and snaps under the first longitudinal edge (13a) of the profile, and the longitudinal shelf (23) of the body of the locking rod abuts above the first longitudinal edge (13a) of the profile.

Claims

CLAIMS1. Assembly comprising:- at least one profile (1) of a casement (T) of a cremone bolt window frame comprising a longitudinal channel (10) having a C-shaped cross-section with two undercuts under a first longitudinal edge (13a) and a second longitudinal edge (13b) of the profile (1); and- at least one locking rod (100) arranged in the longitudinal channel (10) of said at least one profile (1 );said locking rod (100) comprising a body (2) and at least one cover (3) removably coupled with the body (2);wherein said body (2) of said locking rod (100) comprises:- a first longitudinal lateral edge (20a) and a second longitudinal lateral edge (20b), parallel to each other;- a longitudinal shelf (23) protruding laterally from the first longitudinal lateral edge (20a) of the body and suitable for abutting above the first longitudinal edge (13a) of the profile; and- a longitudinal tenon (24) projecting laterally from the second longitudinal lateral edge (20b) of the body and suitable for being arranged under the second longitudinal edge (13b) of the profile;characterized in thatsaid body (2) of said locking rod (100) further comprises at least one tooth (4) protruding from the body (2) of the locking rod, in upward direction toward the first longitudinal lateral edge (20a) of the body of the locking rod (100); andsaid cover (3) of said at least one locking rod (100) comprises:- a seat (30) suitable for accommodating the tooth (4) of said body (2); and- a flexible wing (31 ) protruding outwardly from the seat (30) of the cover in such a way that, when the cover (3) is coupled with the tooth (4) of the body (2), the flexible wing (31) of the cover (3) is disposed under the tooth (4) andthe longitudinal shelf (23) of the body (2) to engage the first longitudinal edge (13a) of the profile.

The assembly according to claim 1 , wherein the body (2) of the locking rod (100) comprises at least one slot (25) formed in the first longitudinal lateral edge (20a) of the body; said slot (25) being defined by at least one transverse edge (25a, 25b) and said tooth (4) protruding from said at least one transverse edge (25a, 25b) defining the slot (25).

The assembly according to claim 2, wherein said at least one slot (25) has a U-shaped profile and is defined by two transverse edges (25a), parallel to each other, and by a longitudinal edge (25b) formed at a centerline of the body (2) of the locking rod (100) to connect the two transverse edges (25a); said at least one tooth (4) of the body (2) of the locking rod protrudes from said longitudinal edge (25b) defining the slot (25).

4. The assembly according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein said flexible wing (31 ) of the cover (3) of the locking rod (100) has a V-shaped cross-section with a rounded vertex (32).

5. The assembly according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein said at least one cover (3) of the locking rod (100) is made of a plastic material.

6. The assembly according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein said body (2) of the locking rod (100) has a plate-like shape and is made of a metal material.
