Abstract
Description
Terminal, Wireless Communication Method, and Base Station
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a terminal, a wireless communication method, and a base station in a next-generation mobile communication system.
[0002] In a Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) network, Long Term Evolution (LTE) was specified for the purpose of achieving further high data rates, low latency, etc. (Non-Patent Document 1). Also, for the purpose of further increasing capacity and enhancing performance of LTE (Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP (registered trademark)) Release (Rel.) 8, 9), LTE-Advanced (3GPP Rel. 10-14) was specified.
[0003] Successor systems to LTE (e.g., also referred to as 5th generation mobile communication system (5G), 5G+ (plus), 6th generation mobile communication system (6G), New Radio (NR), 3GPP Rel. 15 and later) are also under consideration.
[0004] 3GPP TS 36.300 V8.12.0, "Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access (E-UTRA) and Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN); Overall description; Stage 2 (Release 8)", April 2010
[0005] In future wireless communication systems, it is being considered that a terminal (user terminal, User Equipment (UE)) performs CSI prediction and CSI compression. The compressed CSI is reconstructed to obtain reconstructed future CSI.
[0006] However, it remains unclear how to monitor CSI prediction / compression. Failure to properly monitor could hinder performance improvements in CSI prediction / compression.
[0007] Therefore, one of the objectives of this disclosure is to provide a terminal, a wireless communication method, and a base station that can appropriately perform monitoring related to CSI prediction / compression.
[0008] A terminal according to one aspect of the present disclosure is characterized by comprising: a receiving unit that receives monitoring information for at least one of channel state information (CSI) prediction and CSI compression; and a control unit that performs CSI prediction and CSI compression to predict future CSI, obtains future CSI reconstructed based on the compressed CSI, and performs monitoring using at least the reconstructed future CSI.
[0009] According to one aspect of this disclosure, monitoring of CSI prediction / compression can be appropriately performed.

Figure 3 shows an example of option 1 for performance monitoring. Figure 4 shows an example of option 2a for performance monitoring. Figure 5 shows an example of option 2b for performance monitoring. [0011] (Application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology to Wireless Communication) Regarding future wireless communication technologies, the use of AI technologies such as Machine Learning (ML) for network / device control and management is being considered.
[0012] For example, terminals (user terminals, User Equipment (UE)) and base stations (BS) are being considered to utilize AI technology to improve Channel State Information (CSI) feedback (e.g., overhead reduction, improved accuracy, prediction), beam management (e.g., improved accuracy, prediction in the spatiotemporal domain), and position measurement (e.g., improved position estimation / prediction).
[0013] The AI model may output at least one piece of information, such as an estimated value, a predicted value, a selected action, or a classification, based on the input information. The UE / BS may input channel status information, reference signal measurements, etc., to the AI model and output highly accurate channel status information / measurements / beam selection / position, future channel status information / wireless link quality, etc.
[0014] In this disclosure, AI may be interpreted as an object (also called a subject, object, data, function, program, etc.) having at least one of the following characteristics: - estimation based on observed or collected information, - selection based on observed or collected information, - prediction based on observed or collected information.
[0015] In this disclosure, estimation, prediction, and inference may be interpreted interchangeably. Furthermore, in this disclosure, estimate, predict, and infer may be interpreted interchangeably.
[0016] Furthermore, in this disclosure, AI models, models, ML models, predictive analytics, predictive analytics models, tools, autoencoders, encoders, decoders, neural network models, AI algorithms, schemes, etc., may be interpreted interchangeably. Also, AI models may be derived using at least one of the following: regression analysis (e.g., linear regression analysis, multiple regression analysis, logistic regression analysis), support vector machines, random forests, neural networks, deep learning, etc.
[0017] In this disclosure, the term "autoencoder" may be interpreted interchangeably with any autoencoder, such as a stacked autoencoder or a convolutional autoencoder. The encoder / decoder in this disclosure may employ models such as Residual Network (ResNet), DenseNet, or RefineNet.
[0018] Furthermore, in this disclosure, terms such as encoder, encoding, encoding / encoded, modification / change / control by an encoder, compression, compression / compressed, generating, and generated / generated may be interpreted interchangeably.
[0019] Furthermore, in this disclosure, terms such as decoder, decoding, decoding / decoded, modification / change / control by a decoder, decompressing, decompressing / decompressed, reconstructing, and reconstructing / reconstructed may be interpreted interchangeably.
[0020] (AI-based CSI feedback) As a use case for utilizing AI models, CSI compression using bidirectional AI models is being considered. Such a CSI compression method may also be called AI-based CSI feedback, and may be implemented using, for example, an autoencoder.
[0021] Figure 1 shows an example of CSI feedback using an encoder / decoder. The UE inputs the CSI to the encoder and transmits the information containing the encoded bits (CSI feedback information) from the antenna. The BS inputs the bits of the received CSI feedback information to the corresponding decoder to obtain the output CSI.
[0022] The input CSI may include, for example, information on channel coefficients (elements of the channel matrix) or information on precoding coefficients (elements of the precoding matrix). In other words, the CSI may correspond to information on the channel state in the spatial-frequency domain. Note that the input may also include information other than CSI.
[0023] The CSI output from the decoder may be a reconstructed CSI corresponding to the input to the encoder, or it may be a different CSI from the input to the encoder (for example, if the input information is channel coefficient information, it may be precoding coefficient information).
[0024] Furthermore, the encoder / decoder may include pre-processing of the input and post-processing of the output.
[0025] The encoded bits are more compressed than the input information before encoding, which is expected to reduce the communication overhead associated with CSI feedback.
[0026] (Performance Monitoring) This section describes several options used for performance monitoring of CSI prediction and CSI compression / generation.
[0027] Figure 2 shows a standard interface for performance monitoring. The UE uses a CSI prediction unit to predict future CSI based on measured past CSI. The UE uses a CSI generation unit to compress the predicted future CSI to generate a CSI for reporting and sends it to a CSI reconstruction unit. The CSI reconstruction unit reconstructs the future CSI based on the CSI sent from the CSI generation unit.
[0028] The CSI generation unit in Figure 2 may have the same function as the encoder in Figure 1. The CSI reconstruction unit in Figure 2 may have the same function as the decoder in Figure 1.
[0029] Furthermore, the UE has a CSI prediction unit and a CSI generation unit. The NW (base station) may have a CSI reconstruction unit. However, the UE may have a CSI reconstruction unit [for monitoring] (the same as the CSI reconstruction unit of the NW (base station)). If the UE does not have a CSI reconstruction unit, the UE may receive the reconstructed future CSI from the NW (base station) and use it for monitoring. The same applies to the options shown in Figures 3 to 5.
[0030] Figure 3 shows an example of Option 1 for performance monitoring. The process is the same as in Figure 1, so the explanation is omitted. The UE monitors / evaluates the reconstructed future CSI based on the predicted future CSI.
[0031] Figure 4 shows an example of option 2a for performance monitoring. The process is the same as in Figure 1, so the explanation is omitted. The measured future CSI may be the actual (actually measured) CSI at the same timing (e.g., slot) as the predicted future CSI. The UE monitors / evaluates the reconstructed future CSI based on the measured future CSI.
[0032] Figure 5 shows an example of option 2b for performance monitoring. The process is the same as in Figure 1, so the explanation is omitted. Assume that the measured future CSI is the actual (actually measured) CSI at the same timing (e.g., slot) as the predicted future CSI. The UE uses a CSI generation unit to compress the measured future CSI and sends it to a CSI reconstruction unit. In other words, in this example, the predicted future CSI is not used. The UE monitors / evaluates the reconstructed future CSI based on the measured future CSI. The measured future CSI may be replaced with a measured past CSI.
[0033] (Analysis) In future wireless communication systems, it is being considered that the UE (User Environment) will perform CSI prediction / compression. The compressed CSI will be reconstructed to obtain the reconstructed future CSI.
[0034] However, it remains unclear how to monitor CSI prediction / compression. For example, the metrics used for monitoring, the content of the monitoring reports, and the trigger methods are not clearly defined. Failure to properly implement monitoring may hinder performance improvements in CSI prediction / compression.
[0035] Therefore, the inventors devised a method for appropriately performing monitoring related to CSI prediction / compression.

[0048] (Wireless communication method) <Explanation of terms> Some of the terms used in the present disclosure will be explained below.
[0049] <<Target Signal>> The target signal is the signal / message / bit group to be reported / transmitted / exchanged. When performing CSI compression, or both CSI compression and prediction, the target signal may also be the reported / transmitted channel / precoding matrix.
[0050] <<Monitoring Target>> The monitoring target is a signal whose quality is being evaluated. The monitoring target may be at least one of the following:
[0051] (1) Signals reported / transmitted / exchanged based on the model / functionality / feature / feature group. These signals may be reported immediately after quality assessment or after further processing. The signals may be intermediate signals of the model / functionality / feature / feature group. The monitored object may be the predicted PMI reported by the UE. The predicted PMI may be the predicted PMI after the CSI prediction model, or intermediate signals of the integrated prediction and compression models of the CSI.
[0052] (2) A signal reconstructed based on the model / functionality / function / function group. This signal may be a reconstructed PMI [in NW / gNB] or a reconstructed predicted PMI based on a proxy model of UE. The proxy model is a model / decoder that has the same function as the decoder (CSI reconstructor) in NW / gNB.
[0053] (3) Output or intermediate output of a model / functionality / function / function group.
[0054] <<Monitoring Reference>> A monitoring reference is a signal used as a reference to evaluate the quality of the monitored object. The association between the monitoring reference and the target signal / monitored object may be defined in the specification, or it may be set / instructed to the UE by higher layer signaling / physical layer signaling.
[0055] The UE can obtain / determine monitoring references by measuring specified / configured / instructed resources or by receiving notifications / instructions.
[0056] <First Embodiment> In the first embodiment, the UE may monitor and evaluate both the first KPI / metric and the second KPI / metric and report the KPI / metric that has the greatest impact on performance degradation.
[0057] The UE may receive in advance information regarding monitoring for CSI prediction / CSI compression (including information such as specifications / settings / instructions regarding the monitoring target, monitoring reference, and corresponding metrics (e.g., first metric / second metric, etc.)).
[0058] As shown in Figures 2 to 5, the UE performs CSI prediction, compresses the measured / predicted future CSI (CSI generation), and obtains a reconstructed future CSI based on the compressed measured / predicted CSI. The UE monitors the predicted / measured future CSI and the reconstructed future CSI and calculates / reports metrics.
[0059] Based on the information received regarding monitoring, the UE may calculate metrics using the monitored targets and monitoring references, and then send / report the metrics.
[0060] The specifications / settings / instructions [information] sent to the UE may be at least one of the following (1) to (3):
[0061] (1) Thresholds / performance targets corresponding to metrics (e.g., first metric, second metric). For example, the same or different thresholds / performance targets may be specified / set / instructed for the first metric and the second metric.
[0062] (2) How reporting is triggered. For example, UE may report a metric if the first metric / second metric, any metric, or all metrics are greater than / less than the threshold / performance target.
[0063] (3) Report content. For example, at least one of the following items may be specified / set / instructed as a metric to be reported: • The worst metric [among the metrics corresponding to multiple monitoring targets]. • The metric with the largest difference from the threshold / performance target [among the metrics corresponding to multiple monitoring targets]. • All metrics that are worse than the threshold / performance target.
[0064] <<Embodiment 1-1>> An example of monitoring CSI compression and CSI prediction is described. The UE may receive setting / instructions for metrics corresponding to a combination of monitored target and monitoring reference. The monitored target, monitoring reference, and metric may be defined as follows:
[0065] Monitoring target #1: CSI / channel matrix / precoding matrix (i.e., predicted future CSI) corresponding to the specified / configured / instructed slot / time instance.
[0066] Monitoring target #2: Based on monitoring references #1 / #2, the CSI / channel matrix / precoding matrix reconstructed by the UE's model / function / feature / feature group is monitored in the specified / configured / instructed slot / time instance (i.e., the reconstructed future CSI based on the predicted future CSI / measured future CSI).
[0067] Monitoring target #3: Based on monitoring reference #2, the CSI / channel matrix / precoding matrix reconstructed by the UE model / function / feature / feature group is monitored in the specified / configured / instructed slot / time instance (i.e., the reconstructed future CSI based on the measured future CSI).
[0068] Monitoring Reference #1: Predicted future CSI (Monitoring Target #1).
[0069] Monitoring reference #2: CSI / channel matrix / precoding matrix measured based on configured / instructed resources (i.e., measured future CSI).
[0070] Metrics may be distinguished as follows, based on the combination of monitored object and monitored reference (monitoring object #X, monitoring reference #Y): For example, a metric may be the difference between monitored object #X and monitoring reference #Y.
[0071] Metric #1: A metric based on a combination of (Monitoring Target #1, Monitoring Reference #2). In other words, only the CSI prediction unit is monitored.
[0072] Metric #2: A metric based on the combination of (Monitoring Target #2, Monitoring Reference #1). In other words, Metric #2 corresponds to Option 1, and only the CSI generation section (compression portion) is monitored.
[0073] Metric #3: A metric based on a combination of (monitoring target #2, monitoring reference #2). In other words, Metric #3 corresponds to option 2a, and both the CSI prediction unit and the CSI generation unit are monitored (end-to-end).
[0074] Metric #4: A metric based on a combination of (monitoring target #3, monitoring reference #2). In other words, metric #4 corresponds to option 2b, and only the CSI generation section (compression section) is monitored.
[0075] The UE may report performance metrics based on specified / configured / instructed information (e.g., performance goals).
[0076] Performance metric reporting may be triggered by at least one of the following: • Metric #3 is below performance target, i.e., end-to-end performance is poor. • Both or either Metric #1 and Metric #2 are below performance target. • Both or either Metric #1 and Metric #4 are below performance target.
[0077] Regarding the content of the report and which metrics to report, at least one of the following items may apply: • The UE always reports one metric (e.g., metric #3) (e.g., if a specific metric (e.g., metric #3) is set). • The UE reports at least one of metrics #1 through #4 based on performance objectives (if at least one of metrics #1 through #4 is set).
[0078] According to the first embodiment, CSI prediction / compression monitoring can be properly performed and metrics can be calculated / reported. For example, the UE can calculate / report different metrics depending on the settings / instructions. This allows for proper improvement of CSI prediction / compression performance.
[0079] <Second Embodiment> <<Monitoring of the CSI Prediction Unit>> The UE may monitor the CSI prediction (CSI prediction unit), derive a CSI prediction KPI (e.g., metric #3), and report the future CSI measured for monitoring. The UE may report the CSI prediction KPI. The UE may report the measured future CSI / CSI prediction KPI if the CSI prediction KPI deteriorates or if it receives notification of an end-to-end failure from the NW. For example, the NW may determine a metric similar to metric #3 in the first embodiment and send a failure notification to the UE based on the metric.
[0080] The UE may receive settings and instructions regarding monitored targets, monitoring references, and metrics. The UE may calculate metrics based on those settings and instructions.
[0081] UE may receive settings / instructions regarding the relationship between metrics and functionality / models / UE functionality / functionality groups.
[0082] The UE may receive instructions regarding performance issues with functionality / models / UE functionality / functionality groups. After receiving instructions, the UE may report the metrics related to the performance issue [for example, if a metric is worse than specified / configured / instructed thresholds / performance targets]. The UE may also report whether the relevant metrics are worse than specified / configured / instructed thresholds / performance targets.
[0083] <<Monitoring of CSI Prediction / CSI Generation Unit>> The UE may monitor CSI prediction (CSI Prediction Unit) and CSI generation / compression (CSI Generation Unit), derive KPIs for CSI prediction / generation / compression (e.g., Metric #3), and report the measured / predicted future CSI for monitoring. The UE may report the KPIs for CSI prediction / generation / compression.
[0084] The UE may receive settings / instructions regarding the monitored targets / monitoring references / metrics. The UE may calculate metrics (e.g., metric #3) based on the settings / instructions.
[0085] The UE may receive settings / instructions regarding the relationship between metrics and features / models / UE features / feature groups. For example, the UE may associate metric #3 with a model / feature / UE feature / feature group related to CSI compression / CSI compression and forecasting.
[0086] The UE may receive instructions regarding performance issues with functionality / models / UE functionality / functionality groups. After receiving instructions, the UE may report metric #3 related to the performance issue [if the metric is worse than the specified / configured / instructed threshold / performance target]. The UE may also report whether the related metric #3 is worse than the specified / configured / instructed threshold / performance target.
[0087] According to the second embodiment, the UE can report metrics at the appropriate time and under appropriate circumstances. For example, by reporting metrics only when CSI prediction / compression performance deteriorates, the UE can appropriately improve CSI prediction / compression performance.
[0088] <Supplement> <<Notification of Information to UE>> In the embodiments described above, notification of any information from the Network (NW) (e.g., Base Station (BS)) to the UE (in other words, reception of any information from the BS at the UE) may be performed using physical layer signaling (e.g., DCI), higher layer signaling (e.g., RRC signaling, MAC CE), specific signals / channels (e.g., PDCCH, PDSCH, reference signal), or a combination thereof.

[0119] In EN-DC, the LTE (E-UTRA) base station (eNB) is the Master Node (MN), and the NR base station (gNB) is the Secondary Node (SN). In NE-DC, the NR base station (gNB) is the MN, and the LTE (E-UTRA) base station (eNB) is the SN.
[0120] The wireless communication system 1 may support dual connectivity between multiple base stations within the same RAT (for example, dual connectivity where both MN and SN are NR base stations (gNB) (NR-NR Dual Connectivity (NN-DC))).
[0121] The wireless communication system 1 may include a base station 11 that forms a macrocell C1 with relatively wide coverage, and base stations 12 (12a-12c) located within the macrocell C1 that form a small cell C2 that is narrower than the macrocell C1. User terminals 20 may be located within at least one cell. The arrangement, number, shape, size, etc., of each cell and user terminal 20 are not limited to the configuration shown in the figure. Hereinafter, when base stations 11 and 12 are not distinguished, they will be collectively referred to as base station 10.
[0122] The wireless communication system 1 may utilize Multi Input Multi Output (MIMO). For example, one cell may be formed by one antenna / base station 10, or by multiple antennas / base stations 10. One [virtual] cell (which may be called a supercell, for example) may be composed of multiple [virtual] cells (which may be called subcells, for example). A supercell may correspond to a cell with a fixed physical range, and a subcell may correspond to a cell whose physical range fluctuates quasi-statically / dynamically. In this case, the wireless communication system 1 may be called a cell-free system.

[0124] Each CC may be included in at least one of the first frequency band (Frequency Range 1 (FR1)) and the second frequency band (Frequency Range 2 (FR2)). A macrocell C1 may be included in FR1, and a small cell C2 may be included in FR2. For example, FR1 may be a frequency band of 6 GHz or less (sub-6 GHz), and FR2 may be a frequency band above 24 GHz. Note that the frequency bands and definitions of FR1 and FR2 are not limited to these, and for example, FR1 may be in a frequency band higher than FR2.
[0125] Furthermore, the user terminal 20 may communicate in each CC using at least one of Time Division Duplex (TDD) and Frequency Division Duplex (FDD).
[0126] Multiple base stations 10 may be connected by wire (e.g., optical fiber compliant with Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI), X2 / Xn interface, etc.) or wireless (e.g., NR communication). For example, when NR communication is used as a backhaul between base stations 11 and 12, base station 11, which is the upstream station, may be called an Integrated Access Backhaul (IAB) donor, and base station 12, which is the relay station, may be called an IAB node.

A search space corresponds to the search area and search method for PDCCH candidates. A single CORESET may be associated with one or more search spaces. A UE may monitor CORESETs associated with a given search space based on the search space configuration.
[0138] A single search space may correspond to one or more PDCCH candidates corresponding to aggregation levels. One or more search spaces may be referred to as a search space set. In this disclosure, "search space," "search space set," "search space configuration," "search space set configuration," "CORESET," and "CORESET configuration" may be interpreted interchangeably.
[0139] PUCCH may transmit uplink control information (UCI) including at least one of channel state information (CSI), delivery acknowledgment information (for example, Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest ACKnowledgement (HARQ-ACK), ACK / NACK, etc.), and scheduling request (SR). Wireless frames, subframes, slots, minislots, and symbols may each be referred to by different names. Furthermore, the units of time such as frames, subframes, slots, minislots, and symbols in this disclosure may be interpreted as interchangeable.
[0206] For example, one subframe may be called a TTI, multiple consecutive subframes may be called a TTI, and one slot or one mini-slot may be called a TTI. In other words, at least one of a subframe and a TTI may be a subframe in existing LTE (1 ms), a period shorter than 1 ms (e.g., 1-13 symbols), or a period longer than 1 ms. Note that the unit representing a TTI may be called a slot, mini-slot, etc., instead of a subframe.
[0207] Here, TTI refers to, for example, the smallest time unit for scheduling in wireless communication. For example, in an LTE system, the base station schedules each user terminal to allocate wireless resources (such as the frequency bandwidth and transmission power available to each user terminal) in TTI units. However, the definition of TTI is not limited to this.
[0208] TTI may be a transmission time unit for channel-encoded data packets (transport blocks), code blocks, code words, etc., or it may be a processing unit for scheduling, link adaptation, etc. When a TTI is given, the actual time interval (e.g., number of symbols) in which the transport block, code block, code word, etc. are mapped may be shorter than the TTI.
[0209] Furthermore, if one slot or one mini-slot is referred to as a TTI, then one or more TTIs (i.e., one or more slots or one or more mini-slots) may constitute the minimum time unit for scheduling. In addition, the number of slots (number of mini-slots) that constitute this minimum time unit for scheduling may be controlled.
[0210] A TTI with a time length of 1 ms may be called a normal TTI, long TTI, normal subframe, long subframe, slot, etc. A TTI shorter than a normal TTI may be called a shortened TTI, short TTI, partial or fractional TTI, shortened subframe, short subframe, mini slot, sub slot, slot, etc.
[0211] Furthermore, long TTIs (e.g., normal TTIs, subframes, etc.) may be interpreted as TTIs with a time length exceeding 1 ms, and short TTIs (e.g., shortened TTIs, etc.) may be interpreted as TTIs with a TTI length less than that of a long TTI but 1 ms or more.
[0212] A Resource Block (RB) is a resource allocation unit in the time domain and frequency domain, and in the frequency domain, it may contain one or more consecutive subcarriers. The number of subcarriers in an RB may be the same regardless of the neurology, for example, 12. The number of subcarriers in an RB may be determined based on the neurology.
[0213] Furthermore, an RB may contain one or more symbols in the time domain and may have the length of one slot, one minislot, one subframe, or one TTI. One TTI, one subframe, etc., may each consist of one or more resource blocks.
[0214] One or more RBs may also be called Physical RBs (PRBs), Sub-Carrier Groups (SCGs), Resource Element Groups (REGs), PRB pairs, RB pairs, etc.
[0215] Furthermore, a resource block may consist of one or more resource elements (REs). For example, one RE may be a radio resource area comprising one subcarrier and one symbol.
[0216] A Bandwidth Part (BWP), also known as a partial bandwidth, may represent a subset of consecutive common resource blocks (RBs) for a given neurology in a given carrier. These common RBs may be identified by an index of the RBs relative to a common reference point of the carrier. The PRBs may be defined and numbered within a given BWP.
[0217] A BWP may include UL BWP (BWP for UL) and DL BWP (BWP for DL). One or more BWPs may be configured within a single carrier for a UE.
[0218] At least one of the configured BWPs may be active, and the UE does not need to assume that it will transmit or receive a predetermined signal / channel outside of the active BWP. In this disclosure, terms such as "cell" and "carrier" may be read as "BWP".
[0219] The structures of wireless frames, subframes, slots, minislots, and symbols described above are merely examples. For example, the number of subframes included in a wireless frame, the number of slots per subframe or wireless frame, the number of minislots included in a slot, the number of symbols and RBs included in a slot or minislot, the number of subcarriers included in an RB, and the number of symbols, symbol length, and cyclic prefix (CP) length within the TTI can be varied in various ways.
[0220] Furthermore, the information, parameters, etc., described in this disclosure may be expressed using absolute values, relative values from a predetermined value, or corresponding other information. For example, wireless resources may be indicated by a predetermined index.
[0221] The names used for parameters and other elements in this disclosure are not restrictive in any way. Furthermore, mathematical formulas and other elements using these parameters may differ from those expressly disclosed in this disclosure. Various channels (PUCCH, PDCCH, etc.) and information elements can be identified by any suitable name, and therefore, the various names assigned to these various channels and information elements are not restrictive in any way.
[0222] The information, signals, etc. described in this disclosure may be represented using any of the various different techniques. For example, the data, instructions, commands, information, signals, bits, symbols, chips, etc. that may be referred to throughout the above description may be represented by voltage, current, electromagnetic waves, magnetic fields or magnetic particles, optical fields or photons, or any combination thereof.
[0223] Furthermore, information, signals, etc., can be output from upper layers to lower layers and from lower layers to upper layers, or to at least one of the two. Information, signals, etc., may also be input and output via multiple network nodes.
[0224] Input and output information and signals may be stored in a specific location (e.g., memory) or managed using a management table. Input and output information and signals may be overwritten, updated, or appended to. Output information and signals may be deleted. Input information and signals may be transmitted to other devices.
[0225] Any information described in this disclosure (e.g., variables, constants, parameters) may be communicated from any first device (e.g., UE / base station) to any second device (e.g., base station / UE) that indicates / specifies (or relates to) the value of such any information, even if not specifically stated in the embodiments described above.

[0227] Physical layer signaling may also be called Layer 1 / Layer 2 (L1 / L2) control information (L1 / L2 control signals), L1 control information (L1 control signals), etc. RRC signaling may also be called RRC messages, for example, RRC Connection Setup messages, RRC Connection Reconfiguration messages, etc. MAC signaling may also be communicated using, for example, MAC Control Elements (CEs).
[0228] Furthermore, notification of the specified information (for example, notification that "X is the case") is not limited to explicit notification, but may also be made implicitly (for example, by not notifying the specified information or by notifying other information).
[0229] The determination may be made by a value represented by one bit (0 or 1), by a boolean value represented as true or false, or by a numerical comparison (for example, a comparison with a predetermined value).
