Description

Terminal and Communication Method

[0001] The present invention relates to a terminal and a communication method in a wireless communication system.

[0002] In a mobile communication system, due to its excellent propagation characteristics, the low-frequency band (Low Band) plays an important role in accommodating indoor traffic in urban areas and extensive traffic in suburban and rural areas. However, conventionally, carrier aggregation (CA (Carrier Aggregation)) between low frequencies such as the 800 MHz band FDD (Frequency Division Duplex) band (Band n5) and the 700 MHz band SDL (Supplemental DownLink) band (Band n29) has not been realized due to the complexity of the design and control of the terminal's transmission and reception circuits.

[0003] In 3GPP (Registered Trademark) (3rd Generation Partnership Project), in order to eliminate the complexity of terminal implementation and realize carrier aggregation in the low-frequency band (LBCA), a method of time-division switching between an FDD carrier and an SDL carrier using a Semi-static (semi-static) switching pattern is being studied.

[0004] 3GPP TS 38.300 V18.4.0(2024-12)3GPP TS 38.401 V18.4.0(2024-12)

[0005] However, when the occasion (occasion) in which the uplink (UL (Uplink)) transmission is instructed or set overlaps with the slot (symbol) mapped as the resource of the SDL carrier on the Semi-static switching pattern, it is not clear how the terminal should operate. Therefore, the terminal may not be able to appropriately execute the UL transmission based on the instruction, and as a result, there is a possibility of causing a deterioration in communication quality and a delay.

[0006] The terminal in this embodiment includes a receiving unit that receives information from a base station indicating instructions for uplink transmission on one or more occasions, and a control unit that uses a switching pattern to switch between a first carrier used for uplink transmission and downlink reception and a second carrier used for downlink reception, wherein the control unit performs a predetermined operation when at least some of the one or more occasions overlap with a slot or symbol used for the second carrier in the switching pattern.

[0007] According to this embodiment, the operation of the terminal can be clarified when the timing of the slot used for the carrier that supports only downlink reception among the two carriers that switch using a switching pattern overlaps with the timing of uplink transmission based on instructions from the base station.

[0009] This embodiment will be described below with reference to the drawings. Note that the embodiments described below are examples, and the embodiments to which the present invention applies are not limited to those described below.

[0010] The wireless communication system of this embodiment operates using existing technology. Existing technology is, for example, wireless communication technology based on communication standards such as the 3GPP standard. Existing technology is, for example, NR (New Radio), but is not limited to existing NR. As used herein, the term "NR" has a broad meaning that includes NR (5G) and later systems (e.g., 6G), unless otherwise specified.

[0011] In the embodiments described below, we will use terms such as SS (Synchronization signal), PSS (Primary SS), SSS (Secondary SS), PBCH (Physical broadcast channel), PRACH (Physical random access channel), PDCCH (Physical Downlink Control Channel), PDSCH (Physical Downlink Shared Channel), PUCCH (Physical Uplink Control Channel), and PUSCH (Physical Uplink Shared Channel), which are used in existing communication standards. This is for convenience of description, and similar signals, functions, etc., may be called by other names.

[0012] In this embodiment, the duplex method may be a TDD (Time Division Duplex) method, an FDD (Frequency Division Duplex) method, or any other method (for example, a Flexible Duplex).

[0013] In this embodiment, "configuring" wireless parameters means that predetermined values are pre-configured, or that wireless parameters notified by the base station 10 or terminal 20 are configured.

[0014] Figure 1 shows an example of the configuration of a wireless communication system in this embodiment. The wireless communication system in this embodiment includes a base station 10 and a terminal 20, as shown in Figure 1. Although Figure 1 shows one base station 10 and one terminal 20, this is an example, and there may be multiple base stations 10 and terminal 20.

[0015] Base station 10 is a communication device that provides one or more cells and communicates wirelessly with terminal 20. The physical resources of the radio signal are defined in the time domain and the frequency domain. The time domain may be defined by the number of OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) symbols, and the frequency domain may be defined by the number of subcarriers or resource blocks. Base station 10 transmits synchronization signals and system information to terminal 20. Synchronization signals are, for example, PSS and SSS. System information is transmitted, for example, via PBCH and is also called broadcast information. Synchronization signals and system information may be called SSB (SS / PBCH block). As shown in Figure 1, base station 10 transmits control signals or data to terminal 20 via DL (Downlink) and receives control signals or data from terminal 20 via UL (Uplink). Both base station 10 and terminal 20 are capable of transmitting and receiving signals using beamforming. Furthermore, both base station 10 and terminal 20 are capable of applying MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) communication to DL or UL. Furthermore, both the base station 10 and the terminal 20 may communicate via secondary cells (SCell) and primary cells (PCell) using Carrier Aggregation (CA). In addition, the terminal 20 may communicate via the primary cell of base station 10 and the primary secondary cell group cell (PSCell) of other base stations 10 using Dual Connectivity (DC).

[0016] Terminal 20 is a communication device equipped with wireless communication capabilities, such as a smartphone, mobile phone, tablet, wearable device, or M2M (Machine-to-Machine) communication module. As shown in Figure 1, Terminal 20 receives control signals or data from the base station 10 via DL and transmits control signals or data to the base station 10 via UL, thereby utilizing various communication services provided by the wireless communication system. Terminal 20 also receives various reference signals transmitted from the base station 10 and performs propagation path quality measurements based on the reception results of these reference signals.

[0017] In this embodiment, terminal 20 may perform communication using one serving cell, or it may perform communication using multiple serving cells (e.g., CA or DC).

[0018] In the following explanation, " / " means "and / or" unless otherwise specified, or unless the context makes it clear that it has a different meaning.

[0019] In mobile communication systems, Low Band plays a crucial role in accommodating indoor traffic in urban areas and extensive traffic in suburban and rural areas due to its superior propagation characteristics. However, Low Band Carrier Aggregation (LBCA) is not fully utilized due to the difficulty of implementing it at terminals.

[0020] For example, the use of carrier aggregation (CA) between low frequencies, such as the 800MHz FDD band (Band n5) and the 700MHz SDL band (Band n29), has not been widely adopted due to the complexity of designing and controlling the transmit / receive circuits at terminals. On the other hand, SDL (Supplemental Downlink) bands like Band n29 have traditionally been used mainly for multimedia broadcasting (MBS) applications, but in recent years, their repurposing for communication applications has been attracting attention.

[0021] In 3GPP, as shown in Figure 2, it has been proposed to improve low-band capacity while resolving terminal implementation difficulties by switching between the FDD band and the SDL band in CA. This approach considers switching based on the following two cases.

[0022] Case 1: Transmit and receive data on an FDD carrier (e.g., Band n5), but do not receive data on an SDL carrier (e.g., Band n29).

[0023] Case 2: Reception is performed on the SDL carrier, but transmission and reception are not performed on the FDD carrier.

[0024] To enable switching between FDD carriers and SDL carriers, time-division multiplexing using a semi-static switching pattern set by radio resource control (RRC) is being considered.

[0025] It is unclear how the terminal should behave if the slot (symbol) for which UL transmission is instructed or configured is a slot (symbol) mapped as a resource for the SDL carrier on a semi-static switching pattern. As a result, terminal 20 may not be able to properly perform UL transmission based on the instruction, which could result in a decrease in communication quality or delay.

[0026] According to this embodiment, the operation of the terminal is clarified when the occasion(s) for UL transmission based on instructions from the base station overlap with a slot set for SDL on the semi-static switching pattern.

[0027] In this embodiment, the semi-static switching pattern may also be referred to as a switching pattern or simply a pattern.

[0028] Each embodiment in this embodiment may be performed independently, or any combination of multiple embodiments may be performed.

[0029] In this embodiment, setting "X" (for example, a function or information) on a terminal (or base station) indicates that the terminal is configured with "X".

[0030] In this embodiment, the various information to be set on the terminal may be included, for example, in parameters transmitted from the base station (e.g., upper layer (RRC) parameters). The terminal may set various information on the terminal based on the parameters transmitted from the base station. As another example, various information may be pre-set on the terminal based on a standard (e.g., a 3GPP standard technical specification).

[0031] In this embodiment, terminal 20 supports CA (Carrier Aggregation) that is executed using FDD carrier (Pcell) and SDL carrier (Scell).

[0032] Figure 3 shows an example of a semi-static switching pattern between FDD and SDL in this embodiment. FDD is a communication method that performs uplink (UL) communication (i.e., transmission) and downlink (DL) communication (i.e., reception) in different frequency bands. SDL is a mechanism that provides an additional frequency band dedicated to DL. As shown in Figure 3, the FDD carrier and the SDL carrier are switched in a time-division multiplexer.

[0033] Examples 1-4 of this embodiment are described below.

[0034] In this embodiment, a slot is an example of a unit in the time domain and may be replaced with a symbol or any unit of time. In this embodiment, an occasion is a specific timing (time) assigned to the transmission or reception of a particular physical channel or signal, and is an opportunity for transmission or reception.

[0035] (Example 1) Example 1 describes the operation of terminal 20 when a single occasion for UL transmission based on instructions from DCI (Downlink Control Information) overlaps with a slot set for SDL on a semi-static switching pattern.

[0036] In Embodiment 1, as shown in Figure 4, terminal 20 receives a DCI from base station 10 that includes instructions for UL transmission in a single occasion (step S101). UL transmissions in a single occasion as instructed by the DCI include, for example, PUCCH for HARQ-ACK feedback, DG-PUSCH, A (aperiodic)-CSI on PUSCH, A-SRS, or PDCCH ordered PRACH. Next, if the single occasion instructed by the DCI overlaps with a slot / symbol used for SDL on a semi-static switching pattern, terminal 20 performs an action based on one of the following Alt.1-1 to Alt.1-4 (step S102).

[0037] Alt.1-1: Terminal 20 does not assume that a single occasion of UL transmission directed by DCI will overlap with a slot set for SDL on the semi-static switching pattern.

[0038] Alt.1-2: If a single occasion of UL transmission instructed by DCI overlaps with a slot set for SDL on the semi-static switching pattern, terminal 20 considers the scheduling-related instructions of that DCI to be invalid and other instructions other than scheduling-related instructions to be valid. For example, if a PUCCH for HARQ-ACK overlaps with a slot set for SDL on the semi-static switching pattern, terminal 20 may consider the PDSCH scheduling itself to be invalid, or it may consider the PDSCH scheduling to be valid and only the PUCCH transmission instruction to be invalid.

[0039] Alt.1-3: If a single occasion of UL transmission instructed by DCI overlaps with a slot set for SDL on the semi-static switching pattern, terminal 20 considers the entire DCI instruction invalid.

[0040] Alt.1-4: If a single occasion for UL transmission instructed by DCI overlaps with a slot set in SDL on the semi-static switching pattern, terminal 20 postpones the UL transmission in the overlapping single occasion and performs the UL transmission on another occasion based on predetermined rules.

[0041] (Example 2) Example 2 describes the operation of terminal 20 when multiple occasions for UL transmission based on instructions from DCI overlap with slots set for SDL on a semi-static switching pattern.

[0042] In Embodiment 2, as shown in Figure 5, terminal 20 receives a DCI from base station 10 that includes instructions for UL transmission in multiple occasions (step S201). The UL transmissions in multiple occasions indicated by the DCI are, for example, PUSCH repetition, multi-PUSCH, TBoMS, PUCCH repetition, SP (Semi-persistent)-CSI on PUSCH / PUCCH, SP-SRS, or CG (Configured Grant) type-2 PUSCH transmissions. Next, if at least some of the occasion(s) among the multiple occasions indicated by the DCI overlap with slots / symbols used for SDL in a semi-static switching pattern, terminal 20 performs an operation based on one of Alt.2-1 to Alt.2-4 described later (step S202).

[0043] Alt. 2-1: The terminal 20 does not assume that multiple occasions of UL transmission indicated by DCI overlap with the slots set in SDL on the Semi-static switching pattern.

[0044] Alt. 2-2: When some of the multiple occasions of UL transmission indicated by DCI overlap with the slots set in SDL on the Semi-static switching pattern, the terminal 20 drops (does not perform) the UL transmission in the overlapping occasions.

[0045] Alt. 2-3: When some of the multiple occasions of UL transmission indicated by DCI overlap with the slots set in SDL on the Semi-static switching pattern, the terminal 20 drops (does not perform) the UL transmission in all the occasions indicated by DCI.

[0046] Alt. 2-4: When some of the multiple occasions of UL transmission indicated by DCI overlap with the slots set in SDL on the Semi-static switching pattern, the terminal 20 defers the UL transmission in the overlapping occasions and performs the UL transmission in other occasions based on a predetermined rule. For example, in a predetermined number of repetitions, the deferred occasions may not be counted.

[0047] (Example 3) In Example 3, the operation of the terminal 20 when multiple occasions for UL transmission based on the indication by RRC overlap with the slots set in SDL on the Semi-static switching pattern is described.

[0048] In Example 3, as shown in FIG. 6, the terminal 20 receives an RRC including instructions regarding UL transmissions in a plurality of occasions from the base station 10 (step S301). UL transmissions in the plurality of occasions instructed by the RRC are, for example, transmissions of CG type-1 PUSCH, P-CSI on PUCCH, or P-SRS. Next, when at least some of the occasions among the plurality of occasions set by the RRC overlap with the slots / symbols used for SDL in the Semi-static switching pattern, the terminal 20 executes an operation based on any one of Alt.3-1 to Alt.3-3 described below (step S302).

[0049] Alt.3-1: The terminal 20 does not assume that the plurality of occasions of UL transmissions instructed by the RRC overlap with the slots set for SDL in the Semi-static switching pattern.

[0050] Alt.3-2: When some of the occasions among the plurality of occasions of UL transmissions instructed by the RRC overlap with the slots set for SDL in the Semi-static switching pattern, the terminal 20 drops the UL transmissions in the overlapping occasions (does not perform UL transmissions).

[0051] Alt.3-3: When some of the occasions among the plurality of occasions of UL transmissions instructed by the RRC overlap with the slots set for SDL in the Semi-static switching pattern, the terminal 20 drops the UL transmissions in all the occasions set by the RRC. That is, the terminal 20 regards the setting by the RRC as invalid and does not perform UL transmissions.

[0052] (Modification Example) A modification example of the above embodiment will be described. The following modification examples may be applied to Embodiments 1-3. [[ID=^13]]

[0053] Different operations (Alts. 1-1 to 1-4 / Alts. 2-1 to 2-4 / Alts. 3-1 to 3-3) may be applied to different types of transmissions in each of Examples 1-3. Examples of transmission types include, for instance, the HARQ-ACK feedback PUCCH, DG-PUSCH, A-CSI on PUSCH, A-SRS, and PDCCH ordered PRACH for UL transmissions in Example 1. For example, Alt. 1-1 may be applied to the HARQ-ACK feedback PUCCH in Example 1, and Alt. 1-2 may be applied to the DG-PUSCH.

[0054] If only some symbols of an occasion in which a UL transmission consists of multiple symbols instructed by DCI / RRC overlap with a slot / symbol set in SDL on the semi-static switching pattern, terminal 20 may perform the same processing for the occasion with overlapping symbols as it would for the entire occasion overlapping with a slot / symbol set in SDL.

[0055] If only some of the symbols in an occasion of UL transmission consisting of multiple symbols instructed by DCI / RRC overlap with symbols set in SDL on the semi-static switching pattern, terminal 20 may delete only the overlapping symbols (puncturing) and perform the same processing as when the entire instructed occasion does not overlap with symbols set in SDL (i.e., transmit).

[0056] If only some of the symbols in an occasion of UL transmission consisting of multiple symbols instructed by DCI / RRC overlap with symbols set in SDL on the semi-static switching pattern, terminal 20 may rate match only the overlapping symbols and perform the same processing as when the entire instructed occasion does not overlap with symbols set in SDL (i.e., transmit).

[0057] The terminal 20 may include information indicating which of the operations in Examples 1-3 (Alts. 1-1 to 1-4 / Alts. 2-1 to 2-4 / Alts. 3-1 to 3-3) it is capable of performing. The terminal 20 may report to the base station 10 its terminal capability (UE capability) which includes information indicating which of the operations in Examples 1-3 it is capable of performing.

[0058] The base station 10 may notify the terminal 20 of the operations of Embodiment 1-3 to be applied to the terminal 20 (Alts.1-1 to 1-4 / Alts.2-1 to 2-4 / Alts.3-1 to 3-3).

[0059] According to the embodiment described above, the operation of the terminal can be clearly defined when the slot used for the carrier that supports only downlink reception (SDL carrier) among the two carriers (FDD carrier and SDL carrier) that switch using a semi-static switching pattern overlaps with the occasion(s) of uplink transmission based on instructions from the base station. This ensures improved communication quality and consistency in operation at the terminal.

[0060] (Device Configuration) Next, an example of the functional configuration of the base station 10 and terminal 20 that perform the processes and operations described above will be explained. [0091] (Configuration relating to this embodiment) (Note 1) A terminal comprising: a receiving unit that receives information from a base station indicating instructions for uplink transmission on one or more occasions; and a control unit that performs switching between a first carrier used for uplink transmission and downlink reception and a second carrier used for downlink reception using a switching pattern, wherein the control unit performs a predetermined operation when at least some of the one or more occasions overlap with a slot or symbol used for the second carrier in the switching pattern.

[0092] (Note 2) The terminal described in Note 1, wherein the predetermined operation is the operation of not performing the uplink transmission in some of the overlapping occasions.

[0093] (Note 3) The terminal described in Note 1, wherein the predetermined operation is an operation in which the uplink transmission is not performed in the one or more occasions based on the instruction.

[0094] (Note 4) The terminal as described in Note 1, wherein the predetermined operation is to postpone the uplink transmission in some of the overlapping occasions and to perform the postponed uplink transmission in an occasion after the overlapping occasions.

[0095] (Note 5) The terminal described in Note 1 performs puncturing or rate matching on the overlapping symbols as specified above.

[0096] (Appendix 6) A communication method performed by a terminal, comprising: receiving information from a base station indicating an instruction for uplink transmission on one or more occasions; performing switching between a first carrier used for uplink transmission and downlink reception and a second carrier used for downlink reception using a switching pattern; and performing a predetermined operation when at least some of the one or more occasions overlap with a slot or symbol used for the second carrier in the switching pattern.

[0097] In any of the above configurations, the operation of the terminal can be clearly defined when the timing of the uplink transmission based on instructions from the base station overlaps with the slot used by the carrier that supports only downlink reception (SDL carrier) among the two carriers (FDD carrier and SDL carrier) that switch using a semi-static switching pattern. [0102] In this specification, specific operations performed by the base station 10 may, in some cases, be performed by its upper node. In a network consisting of one or more network nodes having a base station 10, it is clear that various operations performed for communication with the terminal 20 can be performed by the base station 10 and at least one of the other network nodes (for example, an MME or S-GW, but not limited to these). Although the above example illustrates the case where there is one other network node besides the base station 10, the other network node may be a combination of multiple other network nodes (for example, an MME and an S-GW).

[0103] The information or signals described in this disclosure may be output from a higher layer (or lower layer) to a lower layer (or higher layer). They may also be input and output via multiple network nodes.

[0104] Input and output information may be stored in a specific location (e.g., memory) or managed using a management table. Input and output information may be overwritten, updated, or appended to. Output information may be deleted. Input information may be transmitted to other devices.

[0105] The determination in this disclosure may be made by a value represented by one bit (0 or 1), by a Boolean value (true or false), or by a numerical comparison (for example, a comparison with a predetermined value).

[0106] Software should be broadly interpreted to mean instructions, instruction sets, code, code segments, program code, programs, subprograms, software modules, applications, software applications, software packages, routines, subroutines, objects, executable files, execution threads, procedures, functions, and so on, whether they are called software, firmware, middleware, microcode, hardware description languages, or by any other name.

[0107] Furthermore, software, instructions, information, etc., may be transmitted and received via a transmission medium. For example, if software is transmitted from a website, server, or other remote source using at least one of wired technology (such as coaxial cable, fiber optic cable, twisted pair, or digital subscriber line (DSL)) and wireless technology (such as infrared or microwave), then at least one of these wired and wireless technologies is included in the definition of a transmission medium.

[0108] The information, signals, etc. described in this disclosure may be represented using any of the various different techniques. For example, the data, instructions, commands, information, signals, bits, symbols, chips, etc. that may be referred to throughout the above description may be represented by voltage, current, electromagnetic waves, magnetic fields or magnetic particles, optical fields or photons, or any combination thereof.

[0109] In addition, terms used in this disclosure and terms necessary for understanding this disclosure may be replaced with terms having the same or similar meanings. For example, at least one of the channel and symbol may be a signal (signaling). Also, a signal may be a message. Furthermore, a component carrier (CC) may be called a carrier frequency, cell, frequency carrier, etc.

[0110] The terms “system” and “network” as used in this disclosure are interchangeable.

[0111] Furthermore, the information, parameters, etc., described in this disclosure may be expressed using absolute values, relative values from a given value, or other corresponding information. For example, wireless resources may be indicated by an index.

[0112] The names used for the parameters described above are not restrictive in any way. Furthermore, the formulas and other expressions using these parameters may differ from those expressly disclosed in this disclosure. Various channels (e.g., PUCCH, PDCCH, etc.) and information elements can be identified by any suitable name, and therefore, the various names assigned to these various channels and information elements are not restrictive in any way.

[0113] In this disclosure, terms such as "Base Station (BS)", "wireless base station", "base station equipment", "fixed station", "NodeB", "eNodeB (eNB)", "gNodeB (gNB)", "access point", "transmission point", "reception point", "transmission / reception point", "cell", "sector", "cell group", "carrier", and "component carrier" may be used interchangeably. Base stations may also be referred to by terms such as macrocell, small cell, femtocell, and picocell.

[0114] A base station can accommodate one or more (e.g., three) cells. If a base station accommodates multiple cells, the entire coverage area of the base station can be divided into multiple smaller areas, each of which may also be provided with communication services by a base station subsystem (e.g., a Remote Radio Head (RRH)). The terms “cell” or “sector” refer to part or all of the coverage area of at least one of the base station and / or base station subsystems that provide communication services in that coverage.

[0115] In this disclosure, the transmission of information by a base station to a terminal may be interpreted as the base station instructing the terminal to perform control or operation based on the information.

[0116] In this disclosure, terms such as "Mobile Station (MS)," "user terminal," "User Equipment (UE)," and "terminal" may be used interchangeably.

[0117] A mobile station may also be referred to by those skilled in the art as a subscriber station, mobile unit, subscriber unit, wireless unit, remote unit, mobile device, wireless device, wireless communication device, remote device, mobile subscriber station, access terminal, mobile terminal, wireless terminal, remote terminal, handset, user agent, mobile client, client, or several other appropriate terms.

[0118] At least one of the base station and the mobile station may be called a transmitting device, a receiving device, a communication device, etc. At least one of the base station and the mobile station may also be a device mounted on a mobile body, the mobile body itself, etc. The mobile body refers to a movable object, and its speed of movement is arbitrary. This also includes the case when the mobile body is stationary. The mobile body includes, but is not limited to, vehicles, transport vehicles, automobiles, motorcycles, bicycles, connected cars, excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders, dump trucks, forklifts, trains, buses, handcarts, rickshaws, ships and other watercraft, airplanes, rockets, satellites, drones (registered trademark), multicopters, quadcopters, balloons, and items mounted on them. The mobile body may also be a mobile body that moves autonomously based on operation commands. It may be a vehicle (e.g., a car, an airplane, etc.), an unmanned mobile body (e.g., a drone, an autonomous vehicle, etc.), or a robot (manned or unmanned). Furthermore, at least one of the base station and the mobile station may include devices that do not necessarily move during communication operations. For example, at least one of the base station and the mobile station may be an IoT (Internet of Things) device such as a sensor.

[0119] Furthermore, the term "base station" in this disclosure may be interpreted as "user terminal." For example, the various aspects / embodiments of this disclosure may be applied to a configuration in which communication between a base station and a user terminal is replaced with communication between multiple terminals 20 (which may be called, for example, D2D (Device-to-Device), V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything)). In this case, the terminals 20 may have the functions that the base station 10 has. Also, terms such as "uplink" and "downlink" may be interpreted as terms corresponding to terminal-to-terminal communication (for example, "side"). For example, uplink channel, downlink channel, etc., may be interpreted as side channel.

[0120] Similarly, the term "user terminal" in this disclosure may be replaced with "base station." In this case, the base station may be configured to have the same functions as the user terminal described above.

[0121] As used in this disclosure, the terms “determining” and “determining” may encompass a wide variety of actions. “Determining” may include, for example, judging, calculating, computing, processing, deriving, investigating, looking up, searching, or inquiring (e.g., searching in a table, database, or other data structure), or ascertaining. “Determining” may also include receiving (e.g., receiving information), transmitting (e.g., sending information), inputting, outputting, or accessing (e.g., accessing data in memory). Furthermore, "judgment" and "decision" can include considering something as having been "judged" or "decided" after resolving, selecting, choosing, establishing, comparing, etc. In other words, "judgment" and "decision" can include considering something as having been "judged" or "decided" after some action. Also, "judgment (decision)" can be reinterpreted as "assuming," "expecting," or "considering."

[0122] The terms “connected,” “coupled,” and any variations thereof mean any direct or indirect connection or coupling between two or more elements, and may include the presence of one or more intermediate elements between two elements that are “connected” or “coupled” with each other. The coupling or connection between elements may be physical, logical, or a combination thereof. For example, “connection” may be reinterpreted as “access.” As used in this disclosure, two elements may be considered to be “connected” or “coupled” with each other using at least one of one or more wires, cables, and printed electrical connections, and, in some non-limiting and non-exclusive examples, electromagnetic energy having wavelengths in the radio frequency domain, microwave domain, and optical (both visible and invisible) domain.

[0123] The reference signal can also be abbreviated as RS (Reference Signal), and may be called a pilot depending on the applicable standard.

[0124] In this disclosure, the phrase "based on" does not mean "based solely on" unless otherwise specified. In other words, the phrase "based on" means both "based solely on" and "based at least on."

[0125] Any reference to elements using the designations “first,” “second,” etc., as used in this disclosure does not generally limit the quantity or order of those elements. These designations may be used in this disclosure as a convenient way to distinguish between two or more elements. Accordingly, references to the first and second elements do not imply that only two elements may be employed, or that the first element must precede the second element in any way.

[0126] In the configuration of each of the above devices, "means" may be replaced with "part," "circuit," "device," etc.

[0127] Where the terms “include,” “including,” and variations thereof are used in this disclosure, these terms are intended to be inclusive, as is the term “comprising.” Furthermore, the term “or” as used in this disclosure is not intended to mean exclusive OR.

[0128] A wireless frame may consist of one or more frames in the time domain. Each of these frames in the time domain may be called a subframe. A subframe may further consist of one or more slots in the time domain. A subframe may have a fixed time length (e.g., 1 ms) that is independent of numerology.

[0129] Numerical logic may be communication parameters applied to at least one of the transmission and reception of a signal or channel. Numerical logic may include, for example, at least one of the following: subcarrier spacing (SCS), bandwidth, symbol length, cyclic prefix length, transmission time interval (TTI), number of symbols per TTI, radio frame configuration, specific filtering processes performed by the transceiver in the frequency domain, and specific windowing processes performed by the transceiver in the time domain.

[0130] A slot may consist of one or more symbols in the time domain (such as OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) symbols, SC-FDMA (Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access) symbols, etc.). A slot may also be a time unit based on neurology.

[0131] A slot may include multiple minislots. Each minislot may consist of one or more symbols in the time domain. Minislots may also be called subslots. Minislots may consist of fewer symbols than a slot. A PDSCH (or PUSCH) transmitted in a time unit larger than a minislot may be called a PDSCH (or PUSCH) mapping type A. A PDSCH (or PUSCH) transmitted using a minislot may be called a PDSCH (or PUSCH) mapping type B.

[0132] Wireless frames, subframes, slots, minislots, and symbols all represent units of time when transmitting a signal. Different names may be used for each of these terms.

[0133] For example, one subframe may be called a transmission time interval (TTI), multiple consecutive subframes may be called a TTI, or one slot or one minislot may be called a TTI. In other words, at least one of a subframe and a TTI may be a subframe in existing LTE (1 ms), a period shorter than 1 ms (e.g., 1-13 symbols), or a period longer than 1 ms. Note that the unit representing the TTI may be called a slot, minislot, etc., instead of a subframe.

[0134] Here, TTI refers to, for example, the smallest unit of time for scheduling in wireless communication. For example, in an LTE system, the base station schedules each terminal 20 to allocate wireless resources (such as the frequency bandwidth and transmission power available to each terminal 20) in TTI units. However, the definition of TTI is not limited to this.

[0135] TTI may be a transmission time unit for channel-encoded data packets (transport blocks), code blocks, code words, etc., or it may be a processing unit for scheduling, link adaptation, etc. Note that when a TTI is given, the actual time interval (e.g., number of symbols) in which the transport block, code block, code word, etc. are mapped may be shorter than the given TTI.

[0136] Furthermore, if one slot or one mini-slot is referred to as TTI, then one or more TTIs (i.e., one or more slots or one or more mini-slots) may constitute the minimum time unit of scheduling. In addition, the number of slots (number of mini-slots) that constitute the minimum time unit of scheduling may be controlled.

[0137] A TTI with a time length of 1 ms may be called a normal TTI (TTI in LTE Rel. 8-12), a regular TTI, a long TTI, a regular subframe, a long subframe, a slot, etc. A TTI shorter than a regular TTI may be called a shortened TTI, a short TTI, a partial or fractional TTI, a shortened subframe, a short subframe, a mini slot, a sub slot, a slot, etc.

[0138] Furthermore, long TTIs (e.g., normal TTIs, subframes, etc.) may be interpreted as TTIs with a time length exceeding 1 ms, and short TTIs (e.g., shortened TTIs, etc.) may be interpreted as TTIs with a TTI length less than that of a long TTI but 1 ms or more.

[0139] A resource block (RB) is a resource allocation unit in the time domain and frequency domain, and in the frequency domain, it may contain one or more consecutive subcarriers. The number of subcarriers in an RB may be the same regardless of the neurology, for example, 12. The number of subcarriers in an RB may be determined based on the neurology.

[0140] Furthermore, the time domain of the RB may contain one or more symbols and may be the length of one slot, one minislot, one subframe, or one TTI. One TTI, one subframe, etc., may each consist of one or more resource blocks.

[0141] One or more RBs may also be called a Physical RB (PRB), Sub-Carrier Group (SCG), Resource Element Group (REG), PRB pair, RB pair, etc.

[0142] Furthermore, a resource block may consist of one or more resource elements (REs). For example, one RE may be a radio resource area comprising one subcarrier and one symbol.

[0143] A Bandwidth Part (BWP), also known as a partial bandwidth, may represent a subset of consecutive common resource blocks (RBs) for a particular neurology in a given carrier. These common RBs may be identified by an index of the RBs relative to a common reference point of the carrier. The PRBs may be defined and numbered within a given BWP.

[0144] A BWP may include a BWP for UL (UL BWP) and a BWP for DL (DL BWP). One or more BWPs may be set within a single carrier for a UE.

[0145] At least one of the configured BWPs may be active, and the UE does not need to assume that it will transmit or receive a predetermined signal / channel outside of the active BWP. In this disclosure, terms such as "cell" and "carrier" may be read as "BWP".

[0146] The structures described above, such as wireless frames, subframes, slots, minislots, and symbols, are merely illustrative. For example, the number of subframes included in a wireless frame, the number of slots per subframe or wireless frame, the number of minislots included in a slot, the number of symbols and RBs included in a slot or minislot, the number of subcarriers included in an RB, and the number of symbols, symbol length, and cyclic prefix (CP) length within the TTI can be varied in various ways.

[0147] In this disclosure, if articles are added through translation, such as a, an, and the in English, this disclosure may include the fact that the noun following these articles is plural.

[0148] In this disclosure, the term "A and B are different" may mean "A and B are different from each other." The term may also mean "A and B are each different from C." Terms such as "separate" and "combine" may be interpreted similarly to "different."

[0149] Each aspect / embodiment described in this disclosure may be used individually, in combination, or switched between as needed during implementation. Furthermore, notification of specific information (e.g., notification that "X is") is not limited to explicit notification, but may also be implicit (e.g., by not providing such notification).

[0150] Although the present disclosure has been described in detail above, it will be clear to those skilled in the art that the present disclosure is not limited to the embodiments described herein. The present disclosure can be implemented in modified and altered forms without departing from the intent and scope of the present disclosure as defined by the claims. Therefore, the descriptions in the present disclosure are illustrative and not intended to be restrictive in any way.
