[0001] The present invention relates to a bag with a reflector that includes a reflector attachable to the bag.
[0002] Conventionally, there is known a bag provided with a light-reflecting material for improving the visibility of pedestrians in the evening or at night and attracting the attention of vehicle drivers. In Patent Document 1, a bag is disclosed in which a sheet constituting the outer skin of the bag forms a light-reflecting layer including a metal foil heat-sealed via a thermoplastic film layer on the surface of the fabric, and an embossed uneven pattern is formed on the light-reflecting layer.
[0003] Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 1-139725
[0004] However, for commuting and going to school, bags such as black handbags and backpacks that are difficult to be visually recognized in dark places tend to be preferred. Therefore, a bag in which the sheet constituting the outer skin of the bag forms a light-reflecting layer as in the bag of Patent Document 1 and the light-reflecting surface always appears on the outer surface of the bag has a problem in appearance and is difficult to be selected.
[0005] The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and its object is to provide a bag with a reflector that can make the light-reflecting surface reflectable and exhibit its function in a dark place, and does not impair the original appearance of the bag in a bright place.
[0006] The bag with a reflector according to claim 1 includes a reflector that is attachable to the bag, is in a sheet shape, and at least one of the front or back surface is a light-reflecting surface. The reflector can be set in a state where the light-reflecting surface can reflect light from the outside of the bag toward the outside of the bag when the light-reflecting surface is in use, and can be set in a state where the light-reflecting surface does not reflect light from the outside of the bag toward the outside of the bag when the light-reflecting surface is not in use.
[0007] The reflective bag according to claim 2 is characterized in that, in addition to the configuration of claim 1, the reflective material is positioned on the outer surface and / or on the strap portion of the bag so that when the light-reflecting surface is in use, the light-reflecting surface can reflect light from outside the bag toward the outside of the bag, and when the light-reflecting surface is not in use, the reflective material is positioned on the inside of the bag and / or inside the pocket of the bag so that the light-reflecting surface does not reflect light from outside the bag toward the outside of the bag, and / or the light-reflecting surface is covered.
[0008] The reflective bag according to claim 3 or 4 is characterized in that, in addition to the configuration of claim 1 or 2, the bag includes a handbag, rucksack, backpack, shoulder bag, duffel bag, and suitcase.
[0009] The reflective bag according to claim 5 is characterized in that, in addition to the configuration of any one of claims 1 to 4, the reflective material is in a bifold or trifold shape, a light-reflecting surface is provided on at least a part of one side of the reflective material, it is folded so that the light-reflecting surface is on the inside, and the overlapping ends are joined in a way that allows them to be opened and closed.
[0010] The reflective bag according to claim 6 is characterized in that, in addition to the configuration of claim 2 or 4, the reflective material is positioned inside the bag and / or inside the bag's pocket, and a portion of the reflective material is fixed by fixing means.
[0011] The reflective bag according to claim 7 is characterized in that, in addition to the configuration of any one of claims 1 to 4, the reflective material is detachably fixed to the bag by fastening means.
[0012] According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a bag with a reflective material that can perform its function by making the light-reflecting surface reflective in dark places, and does not impair the original appearance of the bag in bright places.

[0014] The embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the drawings. Figures 1A and 1B are front view diagrams showing a first embodiment of the reflective bag according to the present invention, with Figure 1A showing the case when the light-reflecting surface is used and Figure 1B showing the case when the light-reflecting surface is not used. Figures 2A and 2B are rear view diagrams showing a first embodiment of the reflective bag according to the present invention, with Figure 2A showing the case when the light-reflecting surface is used and Figure 2B showing the case when the light-reflecting surface is not used. Figures 3A and 3B are explanatory diagrams showing a second embodiment of the reflective bag according to the present invention, with Figure 3A showing the case when the light-reflecting surface is used and Figure 3B showing the case when the light-reflecting surface is not used. Figures 4A and 4B are explanatory diagrams showing a third embodiment of the reflective bag according to the present invention, with Figure 4A showing the case when the light-reflecting surface is used and Figure 4B showing the case when the light-reflecting surface is not used.
[0015] The reflective bags 1 to 3 according to the present invention are, as shown in Figures 1A to 4B, bags 10, 50, and 80 equipped with reflective materials 20, 30, 60, and 90. The types of bags 10, 50, and 80 are arbitrary, but examples include tote bags, backpacks, shoulder bags, duffel bags, suitcases, and school bags.
[0016] The reflectors 20, 30, 60, and 90 are attachable to the bags 10, 50, and 80, are in sheet form, and have at least one surface (front or back) that is a light-reflecting surface 22, 32, 62, and 92. The reflectors 20, 30, 60, and 90 are sheet-like bodies that are hard, soft, flexible, etc., and have the same or similar fabric as the fabric that makes up the bags 10, 50, and 80, or other fabrics, and include, for example, resin, cloth, nonwoven fabric, wood, paper, etc., and light-reflecting agents. The state of the reflectors 20, 30, 60, and 90 when not in use is not particularly limited; they may be in the form of a single sheet, or folded in half or in thirds. Furthermore, the size and shape of the reflectors 20, 30, 60, and 90 are arbitrary, and the shape is not limited to a rectangle but can be any desired shape.
[0017] The reflectors 20, 30, 60, and 90 may be commercially available reflective materials used as is, or the light-reflecting surfaces 22, 32, 62, and 92 may be formed by applying a light-reflecting agent to the base material. The light-reflecting surfaces 22, 32, 62, and 92 are provided on all or part of at least one surface of the front or back of the reflectors 20, 30, 60, and 90. The size, shape, etc., of the light-reflecting surfaces 22, 32, 62, and 92 are arbitrary as long as they can reflect light and attract the attention of vehicle drivers.
[0018] When using the reflective surfaces of the reflectors 20, 30, 60, and 90 in a dark place, as shown in Figures 1A, 2A, 3A, and 4A, the reflective surfaces 22, 32, 62, and 92 can be configured to reflect light from outside the bags 10, 50, and 80 toward the outside of the bags 10, 50, and 80. Furthermore, when using the reflective surfaces of the reflectors 20, 30, 60, and 90 in a bright place, as shown in Figures 1B, 2B, 3B, and 4B, the reflective surfaces 22, 32, 62, and 92 can be configured not to reflect light from outside the bags 10, 50, and 80 toward the outside of the bags 10, 50, and 80.
[0019] In the reflective bags 1 to 3 according to the present invention, the reflective surfaces 22, 32, 62, and 92 are in a state where they can reflect light from the outside of the bags 10, 50, and 80 in dark places, thus allowing the reflective devices 20, 30, 60, and 90 to function. Therefore, the visibility of pedestrians in the evening and at night can be improved, and the attention of vehicle drivers can be drawn to them. On the other hand, in bright places, the reflective surfaces 22, 32, 62, and 92 of the reflective devices 20, 30, 60, and 90 do not reflect light from the outside of the bags 10, 50, and 80, so the original appearance of the bags 10, 50, and 80 is not impaired.
[0020] The reflective elements 20, 30, 60, and 90 of the reflective bags 1 to 3 are preferably positioned on the outer surfaces 14, 54, 84 and / or the strap portion 12 of the bag 10 so that when the light-reflecting surface is in use, the light-reflecting surfaces 22, 32, 62, and 92 can reflect light from outside the bag 10, 50, and 80 toward the outside of the bag 10, 50, and 80. Here, the strap portion of the bag 10, 50, and 80 refers to the handle, shoulder strap, etc.
[0021] Furthermore, when the light-reflecting surfaces of the reflectors 20, 30, 60, and 90 are not in use, it is preferable that the light-reflecting surfaces 22, 32, 62, and 92 are positioned inside the bag 80 82 and / or inside the pocket 52 of the bag 50, and / or that the light-reflecting surfaces 22, 32, 62, and 92 are covered, so that the light-reflecting surfaces 22, 32, 62, and 92 do not reflect light from outside the bag 10, 50, and 80 toward the outside of the bag 10, 50, and 80.
[0022] To arrange them in this way, the reflective elements 20, 30, 60, and 90 may be fixed to the bags 10, 50, and 80 by fixing means 40, 70, and 100. The fixing means 40, 70, and 100 are not particularly limited, but for example, adhesive, sewing, clamping with fasteners, hook-and-loop fasteners, wire fasteners, magnets, buttons, hooks, snaps, binding strings, etc., can be used and are applicable to existing bags as well. The reflective elements 20, 30, 60, and 90 may also be detachably fixed to the bags 10, 50, and 80 by fixing means 40, 70, and 100. In that case, existing bags can also be easily equipped with light-reflecting functionality.
[0023] Specifically, when the light-reflecting surface is in use, as shown in Figures 1A and 2A, the reflectors 20 and 30 of the bag with reflectors 1 are positioned on the outer surface 14 and / or string portion 12 of the bag 10 so that the light-reflecting surfaces 22 and 32 can reflect light from outside the bag 10 toward the outside of the bag 10. On the other hand, when the light-reflecting surface is not in use, as shown in Figures 1B and 2B, the light-reflecting surfaces 22 and 32 of the reflectors 20 and 30 are covered and do not reflect light from outside the bag 10 toward the outside of the bag 10.
[0024] The reflectors 20 and 30 are preferably folded in half or in thirds. In the case of a folded or third-fold shape, at least a portion of one side of the reflectors 20 and 30 is provided with light-reflecting surfaces 22 and 32, and the reflectors are folded so that the light-reflecting surfaces 22 and 32 face inward. The overlapping ends are joined together by joining means 24 and 34 so that they can be opened and closed. The joining means 24 and 34 are arbitrary, but examples include hook-and-loop fasteners, wire fasteners, magnets, buttons, hooks, snaps, etc.
[0025] Alternatively, when the light-reflecting surface is used, as shown in Figures 3A and 4A, the reflectors 60 and 90 of the reflective bags 2 and 3 are positioned on the outer surfaces 54 and 84 of the bags 50 and 80 so that the light-reflecting surfaces 62 and 92 can reflect light from outside the bags 50 and 80 toward the outside of the bags 50 and 80. On the other hand, when the light-reflecting surface is not used, as shown in Figures 3B and 4B, the reflectors 60 and 90 are positioned inside the pocket 52 of bag 50 and / or inside 82 of bag 80 so that the light-reflecting surfaces 62 and 92 do not reflect light from outside the bags 50 and 80 toward the outside of the bags 50 and 80.
[0026] As described above, it is preferable that the reflective elements 60 and 90, which are placed inside pockets 52 and the like, have a portion of them fixed to the inside of pockets 52 of bag 50 and / or inside 82 of bag 80 by fixing means 70 and 100. In this case, the reflective elements 60 and 90 are fixed so that the light-reflecting surfaces 62 and 92 included in the other parts of the reflective elements 60 and 90 that are not fixed by the fixing means 70 and 100 are exposed to the outer surfaces 54 and 84 of bag 50 and 80 and are in a reflective state.
[0027] The location where the reflectors 60 and 90 are fixed by the fixing means 70 and 100 is not limited to any specific location within the pocket 52 of bag 50 and / or the inside 82 of bag 80, as long as the light-reflecting surfaces 62 and 92 are exposed in a state where they can reflect light onto the outer surfaces 54 and 84 of bag 50 and 80. For example, they could be fixed to the front or back inner surface of pocket 52, or near the opening on the inner surface of bag 80.
[0028] Furthermore, the method of exposing the light-reflecting surfaces 62 and 92 to the outer surfaces 54 and 84 of the bags 50 and 80 in a reflective manner is arbitrary. Depending on the fixing method and fixing position of the reflectors 60 and 90, for example, the free ends of the reflectors 60 and 90, which are partially fixed, can be inverted toward the outer surfaces 54 and 84, or they can be directly exposed toward the outer surfaces 54 and 84. If the fixing means 70 and 100 are fixing devices such as clip-shaped grips, hook-and-loop fasteners, buttons, etc., the reflectors 60 and 90 can be detachably fixed by positioning the light-reflecting surfaces 62 and 92 toward the outside of the bags 50 and 80 when using the light-reflecting surfaces and fixing them with the fixing means 70 and 100.
[0029] The pocket 52 of the bag 50 can be any shape, size, three-dimensional or flat, and have a zipper, as long as it can hold and allow the reflective material 60 to be removed. Also, although the pocket 52 is located on the front side of the bag 50 in Figures 3A and 3B, it can be located on the side, back, bottom, or any other location.
[0030] The present invention will be described in detail below using the embodiments shown in Figures 1A to 4B. The present invention is not limited in any way by the following embodiments.
[0031] In Embodiment 1 of the present invention, the reflective bag 1, as shown in Figures 1A, 1B, 2A, and 2B, has reflective elements 20 and 30 on a backpack bag 10.
[0032] As shown in Figures 1A and 1B, the reflective bag 1 has a reflective material 20, which is a folded piece of the same fabric as the bag 10, placed on the outer surface 14 of the bag 10 on the front side 10a of the bag 10. One outer edge of the folded reflective material 20 is fixed by sewing, which is the fixing means 40.
[0033] The reflector 20 has tape-shaped light-reflecting surfaces 22 fixed to each of the two inner surfaces of the folded part by sewing. In addition, hook-and-loop fasteners, which are fastening means 24, are provided at both ends in the vertical direction of the inner surface of the folded part of the reflector 20, parallel to the tape-shaped light-reflecting surfaces 22.
[0034] Furthermore, as shown in Figures 2A and 2B, the reflective material 30 is placed on the shoulder strap, which is the strap portion 12 of the bag 10, on the back side 10b of the bag 10, and is fixed by adhesive, which is the fixing means. Note that the method of fixing the reflective material 30 may be other than adhesive, such as sewing, or a strap attachment belt that can be opened and closed with hook and loop fasteners may be attached to the reflective material 30.
[0035] The reflective material 30 is a tri-fold body made of a different fabric from the fabric that makes up the bag 10, and has light-reflecting surfaces 32 formed on the central and lower surfaces of the three inner surfaces of the tri-fold. A hook-and-loop fastener, which is a fastening means 34 that allows the reflective material 30 to be opened and closed, is provided on the upper surface of the tri-fold inner surface of the reflective material 30 that does not have a light-reflecting surface 32 and on the lower surface of the tri-fold outer surface of the reflective material 30.
[0036] Regarding the use of the reflective bag 1, in the evening or at night when it becomes dark, the reflective elements 20 and 30, which are folded and joined via connecting means 24 and 34, are opened as shown in Figures 1A and 2A, so that the inner light-reflecting surfaces 22 and 32 face outwards from the bag 10. At this time, the reflective elements 20 and 30 are in a state where the light-reflecting surfaces 22 and 32 can reflect light from outside the bag 10 toward the outside of the bag 10.
[0037] On the other hand, in bright conditions such as daytime, as shown in Figures 1B and 2B, the reflectors 20 and 30 are folded so that the light-reflecting surfaces 22 and 32 face inward, and are joined and closed at the overlapping ends using the joining means 24 and 34 provided at both ends. At this time, the reflectors 20 and 30 are in a state where the light-reflecting surfaces 22 and 32 do not reflect light from outside the bag 10 toward the outside of the bag 10.
[0038] In Embodiment 2 of the present invention, the reflective bag 2 has a reflective material 60 on a backpack bag 50, as shown in Figures 3A and 3B. The reflective material 60 is placed inside a pocket 52 provided on the outer surface 54 of the bag 50 on the front side of the bag 50.
[0039] The reflector 60 is rectangular in shape and uses a foldable fabric as its base material, different from the fabric that makes up the bag 50. A light-reflecting agent is applied to more than half of one side of the base material. As shown by the dashed line in Figure 3B, the upper end portion of the reflector 60 is fixed to the upper opening edge of the front surface of the pocket 52, that is, the fabric that forms the pocket 52, by sewing, which is the fixing means 70, on the inside of the pocket 52. When the entire reflector 60 is positioned inside the pocket 52, the surface of the reflector 60 having the light-reflecting surface 62 is positioned to face the inner surface of the front side of the pocket 52.
[0040] Regarding the use of the reflective bag 2, in the evening or at night when it becomes dark, the reflective material 60 housed inside the pocket 52 is flipped over to face the outer surface 54 of the bag 50. This allows the light-reflecting surface 62 of the part of the reflective material 60 that is not fixed by the fixing means 70 to face outwards from the bag 50, as shown in Figure 3A. At this time, the reflective material 60 is in a state where the light-reflecting surface 62 can reflect light from outside the bag 50 toward the outside of the bag 50.
[0041] On the other hand, in bright conditions such as daytime, as shown in Figure 3B, the portion of the reflector 60 including the light-reflecting surface 62 is folded back and returned to the inside of the pocket 52. At this time, the reflector 60 is in a state where the light-reflecting surface 62 does not reflect light from outside the bag 50 toward the outside of the bag 50.
[0042] In Example 3 of the present invention, as shown in FIGS. 4A and 4B, the bag 3 with a reflector has a reflector 90 in a bag 80 which is a handbag. The reflector 90 is rectangular, and is made of a foldable resin fabric different from the material constituting the bag 80 as a base material, and a light reflecting agent is applied to more than half of one surface of the base material.
[0043] As shown by the dashed line in FIG. 4B, the reflector 90 is between one handle of the bag 80, and an upper end portion which is a part of the reflector 90 is fixed by sewing which is a fixing means 100 to the opening edge portion of the inner surface of the inner side 82 of the bag 80. When the entire reflector 90 is disposed inside the bag 80, the surface having the light reflecting surface 92 of the reflector 90 is positioned so as to face the inner surface of the bag 80.
[0044] Regarding the usage method of the bag 3 with a reflector, when it becomes dark in the evening or at night, the reflector 90 housed inside the bag 80 is inverted to the outer surface 84 of the bag 80. Thereby, as shown in FIG. 4A, the light reflecting surface 92 of the portion not fixed by the fixing means 90 of the reflector 80 can be directed to the outside of the bag 80. At this time, the reflector 90 is in a state where the light reflecting surface 92 can reflect the light from the outside of the bag 80 toward the outside of the bag 80.
[0045] On the other hand, in a bright place such as during the day, as shown in FIG. 4B, the reflector 90 is folded back at the portion including the exposed light reflecting surface 92 and returned to the inside 82 of the bag 80. At this time, the reflector 90 is in a state where the light reflecting surface 92 does not reflect the light from the outside of the bag 80 toward the outside of the bag 80.
[0046] In addition, in Example 3, the fixing means 100 is sewing, but the reflector 90 may be detachably fixed by a gripping tool, a surface fastener, a locking tool, or the like. For example, when using the light reflecting surface, the reflector 90 is fixed to the opening edge portion of the bag 80 using a detachable fixing means 100, and when the light reflecting surface is not in use, the reflector 90 and the fixing means 100 are removed.
[0047] As described above, in the dark, the bags 1 to 3 with reflectors according to the first to third embodiments can exert the functions of the light reflection surfaces 22, 32, 62, 92, and can reflect the light from the vehicle to inform the driver of the presence of pedestrians. On the other hand, in a bright place, since the light reflection surfaces 22, 32, 62, 92 of the bags 1 to 3 with reflectors are covered or arranged inside the pocket 52 or inside the bag 80 at 82, they can be used without impairing the original appearance of the bags 10, 50, 80. Also, by combining the reflectors 20, 30, 60, 90 of the first to third embodiments, it is possible to increase the light reflection surfaces 22, 32, 62, 92 of the bags 10, 50, 80.
[0048] The present invention can be implemented in various embodiments and modifications without departing from the broad spirit and scope of the present invention. Also, the above-described embodiments are for explaining the present invention and do not limit the scope of the present invention. That is, the scope of the present invention is indicated not by the embodiments but by the claims. And various modifications made within the scope of the claims and within the scope of the meaning of the invention equivalent thereto are considered to be within the scope of this invention.
[0049] This application is based on Japanese Patent Application No. 2025-008131 filed on January 21, 2025, and Japanese Patent Application No. 2025-176277 filed on October 20, 2025.
