Abstract

A display device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may comprise: a display; and a controller that displays information on the display in a normal power mode of the display device, receives a request to enter a low power mode of the display device, and, in response to the received request, switches the power mode of the display device from the normal power mode to the low power mode while displaying a portion of the displayed information on the display.

Description

Display device and method of operation thereof

[0001] The present disclosure relates to a display device, and more specifically, to a display device for browsing viewing information of video content and music information.

[0002] Digital TV services using wired or wireless communication networks are becoming commonplace. Digital TV services can provide a variety of services that were not available through existing analog broadcasting services.

[0003] For example, digital TV services such as IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) and smart TV services provide interactivity that allows users to actively select the types of programs and viewing time. Based on this interactivity, IPTV and smart TV services can also provide various additional services, such as internet search, home shopping, and online games.

[0004] After watching video content such as movies or dramas on TV, many viewers search for music or musicians associated with the content.
