Abstract

The technical solution relates to checking the interior of a motor vehicle before driving and after stopping and locking the vehicle, when by starting the motor vehicle a high resolution infrared camera is activated which senses the state of fastening or unfastening of the seat belts, the data obtained from the infrared camera is recorded by the control unit of the vehicle, whereby the unfastening of the seat belts is indicated by a warning signal of the motor vehicle, and in the case of a locked motor vehicle, the sensors of the seat belts also detect the unfastening of the seat belts, which is indicated by an audible and / or light warning signal of the motor vehicle.

[0003] The technical solution relates to the technical field of the automotive industry and is of importance as a safety feature for crew members by means of a method for checking the interior of a motor vehicle before driving and after driving and locking it. It describes a method for preventing, for example, children from being left unrestrained or forgotten in a vehicle.

[0005] Previously known methods of checking the interior of a motor vehicle after it has been parked to determine whether all occupants have left the vehicle have been based on the principle of sensing the load on the seat, or sensing with a thermal imaging camera, or a combination thereof, to indicate that not all occupants have yet left the vehicle. Such technical solutions are known, for example, from documents KR 20140005745(A), US2024348897(A), CN 115009214, PP 97-2017, etc. In many cases, this activation system is deactivated by the operator of the motor vehicle or this system does not react to minor loads, for example in the case of child car seats for the smallest children, which may lead to the fact that the child car seat may not be secured by the seat belt or, in the case of forgetting them in the vehicle after the end of the journey, to tragic or health-harming situations. Another drawback is their technical complexity, increasing the production costs of car manufacturers and the frequent unreliability of the devices.

[0007] These deficiencies are eliminated by checking the interior of the motor vehicle both before and after the journey using a high-resolution infrared camera. This is done by means of a high-resolution infrared camera which monitors the interior of the vehicle and its output is connected to the vehicle control unit which ensures that the seat belt on / off status is checked, which is indicated by the warning system of the motor vehicle. In the event of the motor vehicle being stopped and locked, the high-resolution infrared camera is activated, which senses the interior of the vehicle and the seat belt on / off status at the same time. In the event that the infrared camera detects the presence of a person in the interior of the vehicle and / or the seat belt is not fastenedor unfastened, this is signalled by a warning light and / or sound system of the motor vehicle.

[0009] Checking the interior of the motor vehicle before driving is important in order to ascertain whether all occupants are wearing their seat belts and, once the vehicle is parked, to ascertain whether all occupants have actually left the vehicle.

[0010] An infrared radiation source with a high-resolution infrared camera for monitoring the interior of the motor vehicle is placed in the interior of the motor vehicle so as to safely image all interior spaces, in particular the seats of the motor vehicle. The infrared camera is activated when the vehicle is started as well as when the vehicle is stopped and locked. The output of the infrared camera is connected to an on-board computer which processes the signal received. At the same time as the vehicle is started, the seat belt on / off sensor is activated, which signals to the on-board computer that the seat belt has not been fastened. If the vehicle is stopped and locked, the infrared camera senses the interior of the motor vehicle and signals that someone is still in the vehicle and that all seat belts are not off. In the event of such a situation, an audible and / or light alarm is triggered, or even to the mobile phone of the vehicle owner, to warn that a forgotten person is still inside the vehicle, which is particularly the case with under-age children placed in a child car seat.

[0013] The technical solution is feasible by installing an infrared source with a thermal imaging camera and a small modification of the computer software in both newly manufactured and existing motor vehicles. The technical solution eliminates the problem that a person, especially small children in a car seat, will not remain unrestrained by the seat belt while the motor vehicle is moving or will be left (forgotten) in the motor vehicle after the journey is over.
